we have seen how tinubu and his southwest brothers run a government. there is no state in the south west that is not indebted even the almighty lagos. so it is clear these guys can't run am economy without borrowing. they may still need the services of NOI apperently because I am pretty sure that the north have nothing to offer in that regard. we need the likes of NOI or Soludo for a clear economic policy but baba dulllard is already calling his ministers noice makers even b4 they are appointed. |

The death toll from a series of bomb blasts blamed on Boko Haram in Maiduguri in northeastern Nigeria has risen to at least 117, hospital sources said Tuesday, more than twice the official tally. A total of 72 dead were registered at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, while another 45 were taken to the mortuary at the Borno State Specialist Hospital, three medical staff said. Boko Haram carried out its deadliest attacks on the city of Maiduguri since President Muhammadu Buhari came to power, killing scores in a series of coordinated bomb blasts. http://linkis.com/www.vanguardngr.com/uXZK5 |
Immediate past governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has dragged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, its chairman in Rivers State, Felix Obuah, and two others, before an Abuja High Court, over false allegations of ownership of foreign accounts and funds embezzlement against him. He is seeking N300, 000, 000, 000.00 for general damages done to him over defamation of his character, reputation and person by the plaintiffs. It will be recalled that in a press statement, the PDP in Rivers State, on August 6 and August 21, 2015, alleged that Amaechi stole $757 million or N80 billion of Rivers State public funds and stashed same away in an account in his name in Bancorp Bank in Minnesota, United States of America. http://linkis.com/www.vanguardngr.com/7OTD6 |

ONDO State National Assembly elections petitions tribunal sitting in Akure has upheld the election of the lawmaker representing Irele/Okitipupa Federal Constituency, Mike Omogbehin, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the April 2015 elections. In an hour judgment read by Justice John Obiora, the tribunal dismissed the petition of his All Progressives Congress (APC) contender, Victor Akinmoyero for lack of merit, incompetence and vague. The tribunal held that gone are the days of presenting omniscient witnesses, stressing that the petitioner substantially failed to prove with copious evidences the irregularities in the election and non-compliance with the electoral act. Counsel to the petitioner, Kayode Adeola, however, expressed displeasure over the ruling and vowed to challenge it at the appeal court, while PDP counsel, Remi Olatubora said the victory confirmed the overwhelming mandate which Omogbehin got from his people and restated his team’s readiness for further litigation on the issue. Omogbehin, who wept while speaking to newsmen, said the victory would enable him concentrate on the business of governance and extend the olive branch to his rivals. Meanwhile, the Ondo State House of Assembly (ODHA) has condemned the abduction of the elder statesman, Chief Olu Falae on his 77th birthday. The House, led by its Speaker, Jumoke Akindele, during its plenary decried the abduction as disheartening. The lawmakers urged the Federal Government to implement the 2014 National Conference Report which recommended state police as the solution to increasing cases of insecurity. Similarly, the Deputy Speaker, Fatai Olotu and the Majority Leader, Ifedayo Akinsoyinu condemned the incessant kidnappings in the country and appealed to the abductors of Falae to release him immediately. The lawmakers called on security agencies, as a matter of urgency, to swing into action to bring to book those behind the dastardly act, while they set up a committee to pay a solidarity visit to the family of the elder http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/09/ondo-tribunal-upholds-reps-election-state-assembly-condemns-abduction-of-falae/ |

How do we expect to grow the economy when states are always expecting from the fg rather than develop their various states? How do we expect to grow when states use fg allocations to build talking drums. Mumu people. |
