In my mid 20s too.....
Not easy at all after graduating from skul, served the nation and end up back to my parents house without a job, every day i just keeps worrying my self about how everything was so frustrating.....one night i was just lying on my bed thinking about everything, things like how to make money for my self (productivity). Skills poped up to my mind that night, I was like woow....so what skills? I don't know! I searched online to see top skills and how much they earn after learning, so Programming/Web design that midnight, showed interest to learn fast and sell my self with it, but I don't have a laptop. I had to lied to my parents that have gotten a job in an IT firm that they won't pay untill after 6months, that the pay is 140k, they were so happy. I did this so i could afford to get laptop to start learning, so i told them i can't start work without laptop, it is their num 1 criteria, told my dad to borrow me the money that i will return it back...... luckily for me he did, went to computer village and bought the laptop. I will leave home around 9am go to one bet9a shop with my laptop till 2pm and start coming home just to pretend as if i am going to work Monday to friday. At the bet9ja shop while others are arguing about soccer and spoilt tickets i will be busy learning coding and charging at the same time, at times i will feel like crying, I did this for like 2months till i lost interest in coding, I moved to graphics.....was very easy for me to learn and not boring to me unlike that Programming, fast forwarded to March..... I'm now an elite graphics designer now working for a firm with a pay of over 100k, and that March made it exactly of the 6months i lied to my parents.... leaving my parent house this month, nothing to worried about again, if u are in your 20s u can learn from this. Pray to God, Know what u wants, Learn a skill..... with this u won't suffer by the time u clock 30s....Shalom!
Wow
You are indeed an inspiration
While most people would just keep thinking, you took action.

Sir, am in the same shoes right now. God willing, I'll graduate at 24 with a B.Agric certificate which I opted for after several at tee for Medicine. Right now, I am contemplating what my future would look like, the urge to give Medicine another attempt in my Finals is still high, while I am also looking at my age and finance.
Its one of the toughest dilemma I've got myself, I just pray God guides me to the right path.
God will guide you and show you a clear path.
Forget about the age tho

Nicklaus619:
Just got admission that year a fresh man and we where invited to a party outside the school, one of the girls in my department from a very rich background, I later got to know that her dad was one time senator for many tenure,
I went their with 2 of my room mates, and we all took alcohol for the first time, because there was no single soft drink at the party, and we wouldn't want our impression to be that we are simps grin

We all took at least two bottles of star each.

Time check it was time to go, we all managed to get to our door post and unfortunately their was no power supply, so I used my legendary black berry tour as a torchlight that led us home. angry

Now problem started when I raised alarm that I have forgotten my phone at the party, none of us were sober to realise that it was the same phone that light our path home, we went back to the party venue with the blackberry still being our only source of light I our path, we went back and searched everywhere but couldn't find it. That was how I burst tears and started crying, and my friends where consoling me, just then my phone rang and my girl was on the line, I was sobbing when I picked the call and asking her if she is with my phone, she was confused and said that she doesn't understand what I mean, she ended the call.

That's was how we went home heartbroken, only for my stupid alarm to wake me up to prepare for my morning class grin

The gate man in our compound was narrating to us how we where all weeping when we got home, my friends where crying in solidarity grin

Since then I don't go close to alcohol grin

"My friends where crying in solidarity"
This one off me grin grin

Nar, not at all.. d only time I tink I did that was like 2013 or 2012.
Then it might be the thing of the mind.

A year ago i was eyeing a proffessor daughter like that, she started making advances and told me to come to her house when her dad wasn't around. When i got there we started but when i was about to penetrate, the stuff just went down on me.
It was embarrassing because i had made mouth like mad. The second week same thing happen, the third week it did again and that time i was really scared. I went back to my appartment called one cute girl to come around, immediately she came this stuff was hard like a rock. Then i knew the problem wasn't with the D, its prolly with the mind.

Could be you are stressed mentally anytime she is around or you are currently worrying about a lot of things or extreme anxiety.

It's not too late. Still in my 20s tho, I intend to still change, realign, redo and live life the best way I can. Age for me is only a number. You can still do whatever you intend to, afterall most big names like KFC started when the owner was over 50years old.

Growing up, I always wanted to be in the medical field. Countless exams and post utme without failing, yet I never got the admission for a course of my choice.

I had to apply for anyone. Studied a given course just for study sake. After that, I went back to school for another degree due to the nature of my job and to align, I'm done.

I haven't had peace of mind since then, the urge and fire to still get what I have always dreamed of (the medical field) is stil there. Irrespective of how far I have gone, I see myself going back to get what I always wished for, that I will do shortly. Others might consider other certificates wasted but It is an experience.
There is joy doing what you love. Until then, you would feel wasted at a point.
I have a friend just like you too
He wanted to study medicine in OAU but he was giving botany. After almost 6years in OAU due to strike and all he later graduated.
This guy had to go to Unilag again to start medicine from scratch. It takes gutz, he is in 4th year now, but i must tell you it has not been easy for the dude.

We tend to get courage from reading experience of people that have overcome what we are currently going through and thats the reason for creating this topics.

I am sure thousands of nairalander are currently in their 20s feeling very confuse, insecure and lost in this world.

Let me start from myself.
I'm currently in my mid-twenties, done with my degree and set for life race. But one thing that brings me down everyday is the fact that most of the things i have predicted, anticipated and planned for aren't coming to pass.

When i was much younger, i had already painted this picture of being extremely successful at this point. Mind you, i am not the guy that wish without taking a step.

From 15years old, i have been hustling, doing businesses, learning new things, reading books, engaging in church activities in anticipation of this glorious 20s

I loved the process, i licked the dirt and anytime i fail, i feel like its just part of the process, that one day it will all work out smooth.

But these days i feel very confuse you, i have done alot of things and fail that makes me even scared of trying new things. To be honest this 20s is a very confusing part of someone lives, nothing seems sure even relationship.

I had to get a job as an architect in a small firm with less pay sef, after all i have pictured for myself.

For all those that came out through their 20s successful, abeg come and gist us and motivate us.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nigeria's New Minimum Wage VS American Prisoner's Daily Pay by StarOnEarth(m): 9:31pm On Oct 27, 2019
Stop comparing how they use their dollar to how we use our naira..

My friend stayed in Nevada, USA for 3years, paid $500 per month for his room. That's 175k naira per month. Even on the highland I doubt if you would pay 175k for a single room per month.

My point is that the 2 economy are totally different. Imagine people paying as much as $3000 for 2 room in LA per month, they are require to earn better pay checks to cover this bill. Don't compare it to a country paying 12k per month for a room self contain.
