asala1: Can you please tell me what you mean by competition? It’s like the US telling its company to allow importation of steel from China to compete. That would be really stu.ipid
Just listening to yourself ‘we have been importing and we are okay with it’ it’s mor.onic thinking like this that ensure your country to remain poor and backward and why the future of your children will remain bleak. No comment is completely stupid here. Dangote knows what he wants, and I bet you it's not in your interest. Dangote wants to monopolize the oil industry, which will make him the regulator, by proxy. Why should dangote not focus on refining and then selling to marketer via vessels? Why did he build loading island? To control the entire oil value chain? That's monopolistic tendency. I understand his refinery will boost the local economy, but the positive impacts might be minimal without a good leadership structure. But anything that can bring the price of fuels down will benefit the people more. Dangote has not got the capacity to service the whole country for now, so he should embrace the competition that comes with it. |

rafindo: . They are all functioning but not in optimal capacity due to the same problem Dangote is suffering from which is crude feedstock and importation of cheap and sub standard products. Apart from African refinery that is yet to kick start, the rest started before dangote. If they are functioning where have they been taking the refined products to? I'm very sure all the products we buy in Nigeria are not refined in Nigeria. |
Education › Re: Why Are Private Schools Like This? by Starpro87(m): 6:09am On Nov 09, 2024 |
Op, what you are experiencing is common in private schools, of course, you should know better if, truly, you've taught in 9 private schools.
You should have been aware of these before taking the job, therefore find a way to strike a balance for yourself and yourself alone.
If you do not trivialize some of your experiences, hoping to get something or somewhere better, you may be overwhelmed with frustration.
You must truly love what you're doing, in order to flow with what comes with it.
Do not flog students if it is against the school's norms.
Do not deduct such high (10) marks from your students in event you caught them cheating.
1 mark deduction is enough to pass a message to such student.
Do not think the students will become as intelligent as you are in just one term.
Don't think it is almost impossible to help a poorly performing student, there is always a way to help such student. You don't tell that to a parent because that's why they brought them to you.
See, whatever you call a problem is automatically a problem to you. Always see those students as kids and friends because that's what comes with the profession. Cease from discussing the bad side of the school and the owners among the teachers, because it will add to your frustration and then discourage you.
In all honesty, you are in a bad employ but you may not totally be right.
Above all, look for a better job to do. How could you have worked in 9 different schools and you still believe you will get the one that will be a perfect one for you?
Most of the private schools owners are modern-day slave traders.
Work out something for yourself. |
Business › Re: Oil Marketers Drag Dangote To Court, Insist On Petrol Import by Starpro87(m): 12:10pm On Nov 07, 2024 |
Dangote aims to recoup his investment within the shortest period of time, otherwise he should have had no business with retail distribution.
Dangote must not be allowed to monopolize the downstream oil value chain because Nigerian will be at his mercy, just like he did with cement.
Marketers who can afford to import from the West must be allowed to do so, for the sustenance of their business. Also, Dangote has the latitude to sell to other countries if he wishes to.
Remember he has PMS, AGO, DPK/ATK, HDPE, FUEL OIL, BITUMEN etc in the products production cycle, which, all, translates to profit, so why should his product be so expensive?
He should face the competition in the industry and allow price and availability to determine traffic. |
Politics › Re: Court Stops CBN From Releasing Allocation To Rivers State Government by Starpro87(m): 11:25am On Oct 30, 2024 |
Reptyle: We may dislike Wike and his politics.
But it makes no sense that Governor Fubara is running an entire state on the basis of decisions taken by a 4 - man house of assembly.
If i were Fubara, rather than these threats of crisis, I would ignore Wike, and open up channels of rapprochement with the other legislators so as to restore a semblance of peace to my state. Sometimes you need to stoop to conquer.
Frankly this war with Wike does River State no good. Fubara cannot expect to ride on a tiger's back to government house and so carelessly want to jettison the tiger without any resistance.
But he needs to take charge of his state and make peace with all stakeholders. Fubara cannot ignore Wike, to work with Amaewuleh's camp because Wike controls them. Wike is overbearing, so it's either you play by his rules or you lock horns with him. He should allow Fubara to concentrate on governance, because he has nothing to lose. Maybe another government will be loyal to him. Anyways, that's the kind of politics that we play in Nigeria. |

Georgry:

There is a very tiny line between being ungrateful and yielding to godfatherism, I don't pity Fubara at all, he knew exactly what he was signing up for, if someone single-handedly brought you out of nowhere and make you the governor of River state, the person owns you now, be it Nigeria or America, that person simply owns you, that's why in America, they make it very hard for any single individual to have absolute influence on an election result..
Fubura knew this, he accepted it wholeheartedly, Wike even locked a prospective governorship candidate up days before the primary election, and now he's playing dumb.
he who rise by godfatherism should die by godfatherism, I have no fvck to give. But this shouldn't make him not have a life of his own. No one has ever risen to the top without being helped. |
