Politics › Re: Tinubu Never Challenged Forfeiture Order - Peter Obi Tells Tribunal by Starpro87(m): 12:31pm On Jul 22, 2023 |
seunmsg: Is there any sense in challenging an order from a civil case?
So, if VIO or FRSC fines me N5k today for traffic offense, is there any sense in wasting time challenging the order?
Since it’s a forfeiture resulting from a civil case, what’s the point fighting it? Tinubu was already a Senator when the forfeiture order was made against his account. So, it makes more sense to simply allow the civil forfeiture order stand than to keep wasting money on appeal. Same way we all pay VIO and FRSC fine for traffic offense without appeal. Are you saying, in like manner, Tinubu committed a drug (related) offence? If you must be a fan of someone, please be so objective about it. I'm not saying I don't support Tinubu's presidency buh we must call a spade a spade. If we continue to allow this level of sentiment to triumph in our society Nigeria will remain a baby state in 1million years to come. He who goes to equity must go with clean hands. |

Family › Re: Genotype Issue. Please Be Rational ( I Am Not A Religious Person) by Starpro87(m): 6:56am On Jul 10, 2023 |
Bolt458: I am not writing this for religious people to come with their funny talks, I am just putting this out here to hear from people who might have tried this methods or who heard about this methods and still proceeded or did not. I want to hear your experience. I have been dating someone for 5 years now, it happened that I began to see her as someone I would want to spend my life with. Last year we did our genotype test and we were both AS. Now , I know some of you will say this should be the first thing you ask when you meet someone but c’mon, would you say people in university that are dating now, would ask their sef that question? That theory is only feasible when you are single and ready to get married and want to start a new relationship, then you can always ask, but we all know some of our relationships started when we no Dey even see marriage in the nearest future, all of a sudden you just see them as the right person and you take the bold step. Now, I had to meet my family doctor here in Canada, I explained to him my current situation and he referred me to a GENETIC COUNSELOR. I am trying to take the necessary steps cause I am not ready to bring in a child with Sickle cell to this world, and I am not leaving anything to faith. A fone appointment was set with the counselor and we spoke at length. She told me that in every foetus, there is a 25% chance that we can get an SS child. Now , how do we mitigate this percentage to the barest minimum I asked as I am not even ready to bring in a sickler to this world. She gave me three options, I would rather say two because the last involves test when the baby comes, and that is out of the question.
Option 1: A) CVS: They take a sample of the fluid in the womb through her vagina, at 12 weeks to test, if it’s good then fine, if not we have to terminate.
OR
B) At 16 weeks, they take the fluid using a needle directly from her womb, and if it’s SS , they terminate. Both procedures are cover by the government and we don’t need to pay a dime.
Now, she assured me that abortion is a very safe procedure if done properly, and it is even a bigger risk that one can die from a penicillin injection or carrying a pregnancy to term than any harm during an abortion.I know many people would come here and say abortion is this and that but let us be frank to ourselves. If you were told that the child in your womb would have cerebral palsy, or Down syndrome or a neurological disorder, would you still keep that pregnancy? Is there a 100% assurance that two AA people would give birth to a healthy baby? I have come to a realization that pregnancy is just a risk that people take, cus you really don’t know how your child would turn out.
Option 2: PGD. This is just like IVF, where they would select the genotype before they insert back to the womb. She told me the government doesn’t cover this, and it could cost between $10K- $40k. However she mentioned, just like IVf, it is not guaranteed as it can fail and your money is gone.
I discussed this with my girl in Nigeria and she said she was fine with option 1a. I then asked her, that if the first, second are SS would she still remove it. She accepted. I would not lie to you, this girl is everything I want in a woman. I am not just looking at just love because I know love fades with time, but she is a really nice person, and has a good character. She has always been like this from my days in Nigeria because I was with her before I moved outside. Now after finding out our genotype, I tried to get into a relationship with AA. The first one Dey nigeria, she is a nice person, beautiful, but I just didn’t like her or feel attracted to her. She got tire and we just free ourselves, the second one is here in Canada, I just don’t like this one . Please note, I never slept with any of these ladies because I feel it’s not fair.
Now my question is for those who knew all this and still proceeded, how did it work out for you?
I repeat, don’t come here to tell me about how abortion is this and dat. Cus I know if they tell any of you that your child would be abnormal, 90% of you will go for the abortion My Friend, AS is married to another AS, they have 2 beautiful daughters together, full of life. I don't know what they do. Note: They knew their genotype statuses before they got married. |

I finished my NYSC in February this year.. Since then I have been job hunting...
I got an unpaid remote backend internship role with a company, with the assurance that they'll pay stipends after some time..
I also got a slot in an oil company... The role is that of a petroleum surveyor/inspector.. I get to board ships or go to jettys and measure crude oil products on board and stuff like that... I am still in the training stage though.
The problem is that I can't go into both of them fully simultaneously... I am really confused about this..
Any advice from the bosses in the house will be appreciated! If you wouldn't mind telling us the name of the oil coy, some of us can give you a useful counsel because some of those inspection coys have no future. |

Properties › Ethnic Sentiments Eating Deep Into Nigerians. by Starpro87(op): 11:34pm On Apr 16, 2023 |
Ethnic sentiment refers to the emotional attachment or attitude that an individual or group has towards a particular ethnic group, either positive or negative. It can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as cultural background, personal experiences, and social and political contexts. Ethnic sentiment can manifest in various forms, including prejudice, stereotypes, discrimination, and racism. It is important to address and challenge negative ethnic sentiments in order to promote social cohesion and equity for all individuals and groups.
My experience.
I have my cousin who has been with me for some months due to his inability to afford an apartment, yet, in Lagos. So he decided to get one around my area, fortunately for him one of my colleagues is relocating.
She decided to hand the apartment to my cousin, so we were invited for an inspection today. After the inspection my cousin affirmed he likes the place but the landlord told us that he would get back to us in, at least, 24hrs. Disappointingly, this evening my colleague informed me that the (Yoruba) landlord has insisted that he's not letting the apartment to any Igbo person.
We can see where the country is going.
Who else has had similar experience with an Igbo or Yoruba landlord in Lagos? |

Career › Re: I Want To Relocate To Uyo Without Job Assurance by Starpro87(m): 2:22pm On Apr 10, 2023*. Modified: 11:16pm On Apr 10, 2023 |
IRuinUrDay: Good morning, Nlder's. Pls, I need your advice. I created this account just now to hide my identity.
Without wasting time on this, I need your advice as I want to take a blind step because i don't know what else to do.
I graduated since 2018 and since then, I don't have a good job till now. Just surviving that's what I am doing.
Currently, I asked my mom to help me secure loan of 100k while I source for another 100k from friends and relatives and repay in 6 months time. I have planned with my wife to secure a room apartment with at least 60k for 1 year and use the balance to hold ourselves till we get something better doing. This is because I want to relocate to Uyo to hustle with my woman and our only daughter. I can't leave my woman aside and travel to Uyo alone. I want her to join me either in 2 weeks time or 3. She is a stylist and can work as Chef. She is also educated with O'level and I have been taken her through computer lesson's.
Now, I don't have any job assurance in Uyo but I have made some contacts. The 2 person's I contacted said once I relocate, I should let them know to help me get job. Also, I don't mind dropping my certificate just to do any job till I get my dream job. I am also working to get myself a driving license certificate and ID in case, I get a driving job in Uyo.
Pls, I want to know if it's wise to relocate to Uyo without any job at sight?
Also, my current state is one of the worst ever as firms here don't pay there staff good money. Like some pay Accountants here 25k/month to work from Monday to Saturday.
Your ideas will be great. My other areas of relocating is Enugu, Port Harcourt, or Anambra. Pls, help a brother. Uyo is not a bad place to relocate to but remember there are no industries in Uyo. The few jobs that you can get there will end up paying you peanut. Don't be deceived by the cool environment they have there. However, you may do very well in Uyo if you and/or your wife can drop your certificates to toe the line of business. Food businesses can be great if you can be transiting between Aba and Uyo. Shalom! |

I do not support the Naira redesign policy in its entirety but I must state that what the supreme court did was an affront to the corporate administration of the apex bank.
The apex court should have told us that the apex bank has no power and constitutional right to redesign our note, unless they get backing from the court. I don't know what the law says in this regard.
Why would the court give a validity period of till 31st December without due consultation with CBN? This, by extension, means that the apex court controls the economic policies of the apex bank and its implementation. This is not so right. |
