Transcorp is a growth company that pays some dividends. Last year was 5kobo. And the year before that 2kobo. This year may be 10kobo

If they try that 10 kobo stuff, the price will drop heavily...maybe even back to sub N10

Transcorp Power is listing 7.5B units on the floor today.

I rather power Transcorp power at N400 than hold Transcorp for now!

They have destroyed the value of Transcorp for its shareholders...what is the benefit of the unbundling to Transcorp shareholders?

Once again, it goes to prove that apart from Dangote, 99% of Nigerian CEOs do not have your interest at heart.

Well let them list Transcorp power so we can buy directly from the floor.... Transcorp shell holders can keep holding the shares grin

I hope Oando faithfuls are learning too grin grin grin

I see the market staying green for the rest of the year. However, a couple of stocks may suffer. Some traders may create panic sell-offs also.

Market staying green for the year is premised on CBN succeeding with exchange rate below N1,600 and increased food production during this planting season. However, if exchange rate continues on upwards journey, that is a bad signal for the market. Or if more insecurity is recorded in farms that's another bad signal.

Well I am better off holding buying $ and continue to add at 1500-1650...when the CBN finish their shadow chase, I wille exit at 2K+ or hold longer.

What you don't know, you don't know. Binance quickly acted to prevent issues with the government when they already started talking about a potential ban.

Its not hard, you think the average businessman gets $ through Binance?

Take a walk to any mallam around your area and ask for $5,000, you will hear the actual price and that is, if it is available.

Let me say it again, Nigeria does not have $, Buhari and former CBN Gov. already wasted oil revenue from 2015 - 2023. Took loans from foreign banks using our reserve as collateral and went ahead to commit 5yrs of oil revenue to service debt + printing more naira through ways and means on non-existing projects.

Your oil production is dropping and even the revenue from the ones produced would first be used to service debt before anything.

Here lies the problem of your Naira!!!

Boom, way to go, binance and other crypto currency exchanges need to start fixing the daily price limit according to the official exchange rate, if they can't then they should be banned from Nigeria alongside every other crypto site, the speculation is to much, even BDC guy will check binance before giving you a rate.

Una dey talk anyhow....is Binance the problem of Naira

Okay now that they fixed the max sell price, Naira would drop to $1-NGN120

As for the naira/dollar discussion, it is relative and has much to do with where you are coming from, and your current position. For example, from 1st January 2023 till 30 January 2024, my portfolio in stocks appreciated by 384%. During same period (January 2023 - 30 January 2024) the dollar appreciated by less than 200% (from around N700/$ to N1,500/$). So, with this narrative, I am better with my stock investment than being on dollar holding.

Moving forward, the dollar is now selling @ N1,600/$, and the highest price I see the dollar in January 2025 is N3,000/$, which is less than 100% appreciation. The crucial question to ask is, if one can make more than 100% appreciation in its portfolio between now and January 2025. As for me, I think I can make it. So, I don't need any dollar investment for now.

* dollar rate quoted is more of black market rate

We should arrive at $1 - NGN3,000 by summer 2024.

2025 we should be looking at above 5,000 with this level of cluelessness from FG.

If you want to know how bad it is...the politician you are hoping to do the right thing is also calling mallam to load USD grin grin grin

Funds still entering the market despite the TB rate that many are shouting about.

DANGSUGAR for instance, if anyone follows the activities there yesterday, he'll notice that the more some investors probably in profit were selling, the more people were making use of the opportunity to buy.
- It went all the way to -10% at some point and quickly went back up to close @75+ again.
- Huge funds still entered GTCO, FBNH and some other stocks despite the sell off witnessed generally, and quite some stocks still gain at COB.
- Guess, this is the type of opportunity some bargainers mY have been waiting for.
- No one should see his/her own investment plan as the best at any given time.....if they go, they'll still rush back again.
- Each should follow what works best for him/herself.
- Anyone moving to TB, good luck to them. They shouldn't make those in the market look like they don't know what they're doing.

The fact is if CBN continues with this aggressive policy, it will only hurt the stock market more. A fund manager that has had a good run in the market from 2023 will take profit and move funds to T-bills with this good rates + stability.

Investment doesn't not care about our emotions, the CBN is interested at stabilizing the Naira and the stock market is only secondary for now.

All this minority shareholders going to court na proxy of wale. Why you go dey waste your time for court for #7 when you could sell far above for market now...
The only reason for all this court and adjournment is simply. Wale proxies are buying for him cheap to reduce the number of people like me he will finally pay #20 because we sabi dey patient....the guy dey like our president he knows the game and it run in thr blood.

Well said....before BAT became president, nobody could win a single case against Wale with their money, not even the Italian Billionaire. The new shell holders will only witness the man called WALE!!!

There is no need spreading rumours or fake news.
The new Oando shareholders are genuine shareholders. I got to know about this new case when someone mentioned it on Nairametrics. I google searched and I found the names of some of the new shareholders who have asked to be joined in the case. The details are online. Just search for it and read. They are not from Wale or anybody. They are Oando shareholders like you and I who may have the privilege and capacity to join the court case because they know what is at stake and want to prevent cheating.
It is not every time we come up with warped conspiracy theories against some ''rich'' or ''powerful'' men whenever something goes wrong. It distorts the capacity to do meaningful analysis sometimes.
You may be right to say that those earlier shareholders that requested for the buyout were from Wale, but the new set that have requested to join the case to oppose the delisting are genuine shareholders.

The deceit is too much in this country....I just bought USD today $1510 at the parallel market.

Cardoso is just deceiving himself...all this 24hrs circular will not address FX challenges.

The govt needs to resolve the issue of crude oil theft, insecurity so our farmers can go back to the farm, encourage diaspora remittance and build investor confidence. Anything outside this is bullshit.

This one everybody is putting hope on Dangote Foods, I hope the results don't dissapoint based on the current price. I am also holding this stock, but i hate over expectations. We all know why BUA is rising, which is due to free float.
