The exchange rate used for income statement is 582 But that used for statement of financial position is 776

Looked at prior years too I can see they used different translation rates for the income statement and statement of financial position but the gap was not as wide as the rates for this Q3 report. And these are audited reports. Why are they using multiple translation rates huh Perhaps due to mix of several currencies, the face value report rates come out differently for the various statements.

On valuation basis ETI is not that relatively under-valued in comparison to Nigerian banks. It's just in the middle of the pack of valuations of Nigerian banks.
Noted.

OakPearl:
My response is neither fundamental, technical, or even sentimental analysis. I call this situation analysis.
How right or wrong it is will only be proven by time as no one knows exactly what is going on with Oando.

If this link is true and the actual status, this is a completely different angle from what has been assumed and debated about Oando all along here.
If 14 minority shareholders want to be bought out, and a specific number of shares was stated, that does not mean the entire minority shareholders of Oando are in court.

Now I am thinking this isolated case has been deliberately blown out of proportion or misreported for selfish reasons to appear as though it is Oando Vs the entire minority shareholders, just to get the generality of minority shareholders to sell off out of panic including those who bought at N5 to happily sell off at their more than 200% profit so they can keep mopping up to their satisfaction, before letting Oando rise to whatever price it should be.

With the court hearing adjourned to as far as February 2024, that further confirms there’s a deliberate attempt to prolong the suspense, uncertainty and fear until they are done buying.

The heavy volume traded in the last one year says a lot about how much money is available to keep buying at the moment.

The battle for the soul of Oando rages on, as we watch the spectacle.
Should this be the real status, holders of Oando who can stay on will hit the jackpot that awaits with their perceived business turn around.
I said i wont comment about Oando again, but when I read stuffs like this I just shake my head. grin grin grin

Do you think this people / CEOs give a damn about minority shareholders? Only a few my brother. Ask those that also saw potentials and hope in AIICO then compared to Custodian & AXA.

If you have Oando hold and nobody should make you sell. If you make money great and if you don't, its all part of a learning process.

For a long time I have not spoken about Oando, just did today becuase of their court case and as usual, I was not surrised about the outcome.

Wont speak about Oando again....Will people lose money yes, and some will make money!!!
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by stcool(m):
I would end by saying this...since the days of Stockmarket Nigeria....I have learnt my lessons about people like Wale & Tony.

The funny thing is that almost 10+ after some of those analysis where made....these personalities have remained the same, and always taking advantage of shareholders. Look at UBA, Transcorp with all it's potential. I tell you, if Tony had his way the FX profit from UBA would dissappear into admin expenses. The issue he had with FO$ made him sit up a bit. Well, do I think he has changed? No!!!

Oando was every investors dream but, the man called WALE is.....I lack words to describe that family.

I agree with Sir Loco; only invest in Oando money you can afford to ignore.

Anyone not comfortable with OANDO should sell and allow those inside breathe, and allow the forum hear word...
So we should not discuss a stock because someone decides to buy/not to buy it, based on what I say. You guys always amuse me.

That is why in my write up I said realistically for me its N15. However, I am not even seeing the kind of noise I expect from shareholders associations, like news articles on local and international press. Drag Wale by the balls and how he ripped off Nigerian shareholders after the acquistion of Conocophillps and now things are about getting better, you want to delist the company.

Drag Wale round the international Business media and see if his unlce will not call him to order. Waiting for the courts is defeat!!!
Its not Wale that instigated the delisting saga cry Guy are you serious grin grin grin

Oando Minority shellholders should be thanking the 14 shareholders that went to court, else by now the N7.00 is a done deal grin

mikeapollo:
OANDO: DANGER IS LOOMING FOR NEW BUYERS!
Please let us be a bit careful about the potential exit price for Oando, even if they follow the SEC rules.
I am suspecting a foul play from the court.

The court seems to be dragging the case farther so that the 6 months prior to the AGM would mean that the N16 (achieved on 21-Sep-2023) may no longer be relevant, if the market does not push the price to reach that level once more from now till when the AGM holds.
For instance, if the AGM is fixed for May 2024, six months prior to that date would be between Nov2023-May2024, and the highest price within that period may be lower than N16 (if the market does not push the price above the N16 that was earlier achieved in Sep 2023 and before the AGM date).

I am beginning to suspect the endless adjournments by the court is meant to achieve this sinister motive, so that the highest exit price would be lower than N16! The only option is to see that the price keeps rising above N16 and increasing on daily basis
That is why in my write up I said realistically for me its N15. However, I am not even seeing the kind of noise I expect from shareholders associations, like news articles on local and international press. InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by stcool(m):
On this Oando issue, I dont think anything would happen this year, as the court may even adjourn to enable them hear the case while giving the parties opportunity to resolve it outside the court.

In that case, I still think Wale's goal is to delist and would offer more. However, due to him and his teams's perpetual greed, I don't see their offer price above N18 if they are generous. Realistically for me its N15.

*Presently I do not have any shares in Oando!!!

Big thank you @customstreet. I was able to get 2m units of Unity Bank @ 1.07 on Thursday due to your call last week. I sold this morning @185k.

Amount invested - N2,140,000.
Amount realized - N3,700,000.
Amount Gain after deducting charges - N1,500,000 after just one week

I have to sell now because I am a slender person and I don’t have the strength to struggle when the exit door is so narrow grin.
How do you guys want to make money when you panic and sell at every gain. Anyways some people sold Ucap at N3 grin

Have you even bothered to ask what price Providus will buy Unity bank and what will be the value of the new bank compared to your purchase price?

I guess by next week...people will still queue up at N2.50k grin grin grin

Goodluck to everyone.
