Honda oil is a bit expensive now, you can go for any reputable and affordable brand

Ok. Thanks

5W30 same Honda oil brand or in any other brand?

Abeg, I need oil recommendations. I use an Accord 07 with 142k mileage. I currently use Honda oil 5w20 but it has been drying out frequently and I top up twice or sometimes thrice before a full oil change. Oil is not leaking anywhere at all. Checked multiple times over the months. I was managing the 5w20 and topping up since but it is getting annoying.

pls wait for professional answers before going ahead with the oil change. my small opinion says don't do it...and I think oil shortage before next service is common. avoid the 20W50 at all cost unless otherwise professionally advised by a professional professional if u know what I mean grin

I decided to continue using the oil I use. As I noticed the shortage happens almost before service is due. Thanks for the feedback.

Engine oil is being burnt in your engine.
Any smoke emission?

Nope.

asides changing to 5w30, let you or your mechanic check for oil leaks under the hood of your car, could be one or two oil seals are bad or 17mm drain plug doesn't cap properly.
How many months do you take before servicing?

Checked. All good. Not one leak. I service every 6 months.

Good morning good people.

I use 5w20 Honda engine oil for my 07 Accord but I normally top up a gallon or two sometimes before it's time for a full service.

A mechanic recommended Mobil XRP 20w50 saying the Honda oil was too thin as my engine has gotten old.

Should I swap to the Mobil?
Thoughts please.

Good day everyone,

I need advice with my 4 plugs 07 Accord.

I serviced my car with the recommended 5w20 Honda oil in preparation for a trip to the east. On getting to the east from Lagos, my oil didn't guage the next day.

Had to top it up with one gallon of the 20w50 I could find. On getting back to Lagos, oil is short and doesn't guage again. No leaks under the car.

Advices please.

Good day everyone,
Please my car drinks a lot of fuel. I have scanned the car the results made me take the following steps.

1. Catalyst was fixed into the exhaust.
2. Oxygen sensor which was previously absent was added.

However there was no change in the fuel consumption. It still consumes a lot of fuel. Half tank can barely take me from Berger to Ajah and back. Please help a fellow brother ohh.
I drive Honda Accord 2003 model.

Good day good people,

The gear stick on my 2007 Accord is strong. Selects well, you just have to apply a bit of force to move it around.

Has been like this for over a year.

Open and re tighten fuel cap, drive a while for the light to clear off, if it does not, disconnect battery terminal and retight.

Thanks. The battery terminal disconnection worked.

Don't mind your mechanic or better still change your mechanic.

It's either water/coolant mixing with your oil due broken gasket or you might have a warped cylinder head.

Have your car been over heating lately?

Not at all. Using it for a year now. Never had one overheat.

Please ignore him in your best interest.

White smoke is because coolant or water is sipping into your exhaust system.

Alright. Thanks

Good morning all,

My mechanic asked the oil I was using after he noticed the bit of white smoke coming from my 4 plugs 2007 Accord. I told him I use the recommended Honda 5w-20 engine oil and he asked if the car shorts oil and the answer is no. He advised to change it next time with this Mobil super 20-w50 xhp oil saying he is not comfortable with the smoking. What do you guys think please? Change or not change.

Good people of the house, kindly bail me out! It's a 09 accord i4, 2.5l which I just changed all engine mounts to original Belgium. Yet the engine vibrations persist. When ever at stops, or when I just engage the drive or reverse gears and the car is at idle, the vibrations come up, with or without AC, same vibes. But when in Park or Neutral, the cabin is sound and calm as factory setting. No CEL or codes. It's embarrassing. Several mechanics told me it's engine seatings before now. Only one of the old seatings was apparently bad, yet I changed all to avoid future stories , but the vibes continue. Pls help a brother out.
