ronald4ever: I think he's just stating the benefits of marrying a Nigerian, not the reason he got attracted to her and married her. Both aren't same.
Except, people now get attracted to people and fall in love with them based on their country of origin then I'd say I'm learning that for the first time and I daresay is a wrong reason to fall in love. Man, read well, he married her because she's a Nigerian considering his statements. Meanwhile Nigeria has the most beautiful cultures in the whole wide world. Check it out! |

Considering the political instability and hositlity in where one resides, which of the above is advisable to build your first house?? Because many buold houses in the village which they will not stay there...
Pls i need good answers with reasons please Forget all these advices, if u hav money to build, build in the city first nd latter build another one in d village. I bet u, u will not regret it, u will rather thank me for it. Am speaking from my own personal experience. |
Family › Re: Where Should You Build Your First House (city Or Village)? by Step84(m): 11:31pm On Apr 04, 2015 |
Hazardd: buiding a house in the village is a sure thing first. Thats your own town and place.
You can rent a house in a city where you live and am not sure for village.
Assuming if their is war in the city where will you run to.
Well sha, it depends on family planning It doesn't make any sense to build your first house in d villa where u visit maybe once a year. If u build a house ind city where u live, it wil save u money to easily build another one in da village. Incase of crisis which we don't pray for, u can stay away for sometime nd when normalcy returns, u show back to ur house. |

What kind of a President is this that shows open preference and bias toward people of a particular faith when Nigeria is meant to be a secular or multi-religious country?
By the time the seed of bigotry, segregation, ethnoreligious divisiveness that Jonathan is sowing will mature, those of us urging him on and clapping for him will regret it
What Jonathan is doing is no different from what Boko Haram are.....by using force or subterfuge to coerce people into identifying with a particular religion
Gosh........ Because Nigeria is a multi-religious country he should now deny his faith? |

Dammyllionaire: I must say i'm highly disappointed with most of the comments here, the op never say this attributes are not good for a successful marriage but there are several things Ladies need to consider before stepping into the relationship such as 1. Responsibility, 2. Care 3. God fearing. 4. Rest of mind. Etc.
A man that have all this above listed attribute may not have this necessary xteristics and what's the essence of Money or Big car or Big place of work when your husband is not responsible, he is not caring, he is not God fearing and you dont have a complete day rest of mind.
That's the point he is coming from and some useless entity on this forum decided to rain insult on him for this wonderful piece of advice. We are of like mind, i wonder why some people think irrationally! This is a very useful piece that any reasonable lady can use as a yardstick when making a choice of marriage partner. tpia1: bro, I'm simply letting you know the $1800 per month you are dreaming about, does not let you survive comfortably in the US as you were insisting.
quote me anywhere- unless you are not paying rent or any bills, there is no way that amount is sufficient for your expenses.
rent will take at least half of your income when you are on minimum wage- the price of a less expensive apartment will amount to that if you are working one job, entry level/minimum wage and have no plans for or are not interested in further studies to advance or switch your career.
If you share rent expenses with someone else, then you might have some change left over after the rest of your bills are paid. That's a blatant lie. There are people living with lesser than that and still survive. |

Travel › Re: How To Make Friends While Traveling by Step84(m): 11:50pm On Oct 23, 2013 |
Jeel: One of the joys of traveling is that you have the opportunity of meeting new people. Its makes the journey more enjoyable. The best part of traveling is sharing memories with people. After all,it is said that happiness is only real when it is shared.
Its hard for many people to leave their comfort zone and make friends with strangers. But with determination and practice even and intovert can become good at making friends with total strangers while traveling.
The friends you make here could be long-term or short-term friends but whatever the case its usually a worth while experience. Some folks meet people who get them connected for a job a business,a contact etc, some even end up as couples. The bottom line is that there are benefits in meeting and making new friends. •Don't isolate yourself: To meet meet new people and make new friends you have to deliberately socialize. Go or stay where people are. Even when you are shy to talk just staying where others traveling with you are sitted may prompt somebody to start a conversation with you.
• Make yourself friendly: Even introverts who hardly make friends and always stay isolated like friendly people. Every body likes to hang around them. Act and talk friendly and it will naturally draw some people to you.
• Deliberately start a conversation: It could just be saying 'hi' and a long conversation and introduction has begun that will make both of you acquinted with yourself. You could also start the conversation with a question. Just be sensitive and creative to know where and when or what to say to get the persons attention. Ensure to make it natural. Instead of waiting for things to happen make it happen. Act like a leader.
• Take a genuine interest in people: While traveling everybody tends to mind his business and is only interested about his or herself. So when they meet someone who does otherwise, they easily open up to that person. When conversing don't just talk about yourself. Ask questions just make them know you genuinely care about them.
• Ask questions: Ask open ended questions that will keep the conversation going for a long while. Questions like,"where else have you traveled to?", "Are you on holiday or taking a break from work?",Where are you from?". Questions and answers keep a conversation on and helps to get both of you acquinted with each other.
• Imagine that the other person is already your friend: Doing this will make you treat them so. And it will make you feel more comfortable talking with the person.
• Make them laugh: Everyone likes to smile and laugh. When you make a stranger laugh they easily get more interested in talking with you. They drop their emotional defenses against strangers and freely talk with you and your conversation stays active and lively.
• Discover their passion: While chatting look out for the persons core passion and keep your conversation in that area. The way to know is by been sensitive to a conversation that seem to be more interesting to him or her. For some it could be sport, religious matters, business and investment, politics etc. Making new friends is simply about giving the stranger what they wants not what you want.
• Keep a natural bright smile: A smile will do more than you can imagine. I have seen that when I smile at people I meet for the first time they smile back and as I keep the smile on they easily get more involved in our conversation.
• Be prepared for anything: Sometimes as you go out to make friends you encounter some very negative scenarios. They should not discourage you. Sometimes those negative first reactions leads to a closer and deeper relationship. Be calm and collected when strangers you are trying to approach act rude and harsh at you.
They key is for you to be sincere, natural and sensitive. Some people have had bad experiences with strangers as they travel so they are careful when people approach them. So at first they may be trying to test your sincerity. Be yourself,be calm and be adaptable. This tips will go along way to help you know how to make friends while traveling. Thanks for the tips, so real nd inspiring! |

Yvete: awww... Man, you really love your girlfriend. Seems like y'allz love keeps you from coming. I'm shocked you're still back over there after all these months. Every possible advice has been given to you already.
If you were my brother, knowing that you're hell bent on traveling, I'd ask you to visit the US and see for yourself. If you're comfortable and things get better (by whatever means), work towards a students' visa for your girlfriend to join you. I suggest you discuss with whoever is willing to host you in the US. Let them know your plans.
In addition, if you'd like to change status to F1 - It's too late for the Fall. The earliest should be around November/December.
