I think after the consecutive defeats they've suffered with NA outpost they have decided to lay low for awhile, the raining season his not helping them also.
But trust me the airforce is not loosing it's guard.

If I was the force commander, I would be gathering troops and equipment right now......instead of enjoying the calm, i will enjoy the calm, after that big major blow...
And talking of herdsmen, arent herdsmen, meant to go back up north, during the rainy season, so they life stock dont get infected by certain insects that thrive in the south during raining season.

Why is the north east too quiet, this isnt a good sign....I would advise our ISR platform to work extra, and troops put in blocking positions, and an a massive air strike package should be prepared, even in rotor and fixed wings need to be brought from outside Maiduguri, and human intelligence should be activated...... and a massive bombardment of fixed bht locations should be done the same day, at almost the same time, and troops move in for the kill, in this one major surprise attack, we can take out about 40% of BHT, and leave them demoralised.

Some random lunatic decides to launch a tirade against the Nigerian army Tactical Patrol Vehicle, as he puts it, it's a random piece of junk.

Yet, the coward couldn't stay on to defend his comment. He immediately deletes his profile after his comment.

Fools like @Stephandeswardt decide to shower him with support, at least he wasn't cowardly to delete his profile. Some other fools decided to hide behind likes to show support for the coward.

What is the Nigerian Army Tactical Patrol Vehicle. This vehicle is primarily a High Mobility Vehicle designed for Patrols. A number of countries around the world use High Mobility Vehicles, the most popular been the Humvee.

They are designed to overcome obstacles, rough terrains and are in many cases referred to as All Terrain Vehicles.

The Lunatic claimed our TPV is a badly done weld job. A junk. He circled a number of areas before fleeing like a buffoon.

So here are some examples from around the world with similar designs.

The Tactical Patrol Vehicle follows a similar design principle.

See the vehicle in motion in this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOFvNgCBrPE

The TPV might not be aesthetically pleasing at this point but if it does what it is designed to do, why bother about beauty? undecided

Oga!! What is it now?....with all due respect, I do not accept the fact of people insulting me, can you call me a fool, if I were in front of you, and you wont get a resounding slap, with a high pitched frequency.....
Look at where the shocks of that vehicles meets the body, does that point look logical to you, because that point doesn't look reinforced to me, even my civilian Honda accord wasnt built, with just a little piece of metal, attached to the fenders of the body ,, holding it, where it can easily get sheared off.....I see the point you making with your pictures, now see any point, how weak and out of place, the shock absorbers meet the body of the Nigerian car, and be rest assured, when next you insult me, I will track you down....it shouldn't be too hard, I just need to read all you have been posting, to get sufficient details to find you......and you will serve the job with malice.....thank you

"High quality of Nigerian Engineering"......maybe in a parallel universe.

Anyone who has ever worked with welding and sheet metal can tell you what's immediately wrong in that pic.
Stop being so impressed with nonsense. This is a rushed piece of junk.

The ARA on the other hand looks good.

PRESS RELEASE

NORTH EAST BECOMING UNBEARABLE TO TERRORISTS AS TROOPS INTENSIFY CLEARANCE OPERATIONS, *Neutralise 3 terrorists
*Capture 2 Gun Trucks
*2 Anti Aircraft Guns and
*1 Motorcycle

Following sustained robust and aggressive clearance operations, in recent days, troops had recorded tremendous successes in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in the North East. Dozens of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters were annihilated, large cache of assorted arms, ammunition and so many variants of gun trucks and other fighting vehicles were captured.

Additionally and most importantly, the operation resulted in the rescue and eventual liberation of over 100 women and children from the grip of the criminals/terrorists.

Therefore, in order to consolidate on the numerous
successes so far achieved, the rugged troops of 112 Task Force Battalion deployed at Mafa in Borno State had effectively dealt ruthlessly with members of BHTs/ISWAP terrorists in Mafa, Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State, when some terrorists attempted to attack Mafa on 24 June 2019.

The terrorists failed attack on Mafa was as a result of available intelligence indicating the desperate longing for food and other logistics by terrorists necessitated by the recent, incredibly tireless and ferocious troops' operational exploits.

During the failed attack, terrorists in 5 gun trucks and several motor cycles were seen. Consequently, the troops reacted swiftly with heavy fire power forcing the terrorists to scamper for their dear lives, and recovered 2 Gun Trucks mounted with Anti Aircraft Guns and a motorcycle and the extermination of three (3) terrorists. There were indications that some of the insurgents members were wounded in an exchange of fire.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole, Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu had since visited the conflict location with reinforcement.

While being conducted round the camp to assess the situation, the GOC urged the troops to remain focus and not to be carried away by the successes. He directed them to redouble their efforts and doggedly maintain the momentum until they win the war on terrorism for Nigeria through total victory against the bandits.

Similarly, he assured them of the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai's continued appreciation and support in the collective struggle to crush the insurgency.

Nigeria is not Iraq, Libya or Syria.

I think you should study more on the origin and dimensions of the present conflicts in those countries.

If our BHT issues keeps growing, as it is already in about 5 countries in west Africa, we would be invaded , and the only thing that can save us, is a Syria- Russia ype of alliance, and the bill would be crazy.....we just have simpletons as leaders, who cant see more than the money they want to eat, if not, boko haram would be scared to attack our bases for fear of been hit , we are in a better position than syria, BHT are isolated, they dont live in cities and within villages, what we need is sustainable sustained massive strikes, at least 5 major different strikes every 3 or 4 days.....not these piecemeal 1 or 2 alpha jet strikes, that are not effective...... and for special forces to basically become a hunter - strike team, with right vehicles and WEAPONS.

*SECTION OF INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL MEDIA AIDING BOKO HARAM NARRATIVE*

The attention of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has been drawn to an emerging pattern of international/local media coverage of the crisis in the Lake Chad Area which suggests sympathy and support for Boko Haram activities and narrative, at the expense of the efforts being made by a coalition of the Armed Forces of countries of the Lake Chad Basin.

This pattern of coverage has been observed over a period, but the recent report of the clash between Sector 1 of the MNJTF and Boko Haram Terrorists in Darak in Northern Cameroon, which portrayed Boko as being dominant, has called for serious concern. In this instance, the casualty figures quoted by the AFP and slant given by its local collaborator the News Express (on line) is very unfortunate.

For the record, two days ago, about 300 heavily armed Boko Haram Terrorists invaded Darak. However, they were met with stiff MNJTF resistance resulting in the a bloody gun battle which lasted for several hours.

At the end of the fire fight, the following statistics were recorded:

- 10 MNJTF personnel killed in Action.
- 8 MNJTF wounded and evacuated for medical attention.
- 8 civilians killed and one wounded.
- 64 Boko Haram Terrorists killed.
- 8 captured.
- Several wounded.
- 3 Boko Haram boats destroyed.
- several arms and ammunition confiscated.
This bold and ruthless response by the MNJTF is in keeping with the resolve of the Force to make the Lake Chad Area untenable for terrorists of whatever persuasion.

The MNJTF understands that the news business thrives on timeliness. However, it is always desirable to ensure that facts and accuracy are not lost in the quest for urgency, in order not to give the impression that evil is favoured over good.

To facilitate the need of accuracy, the MNJTF is always ready to respond to requests for verification or confirmation of information on occurrences within its Area of Operation. The media is therefore urged to keep faith with a key tenet of the profession, which is the sanctity of facts.

Please, disseminate this information to the general public.

Chief of Military Public Information

But BHT says something and later brings video and pictures....but military, leave so many things to speculate.

The solution to half of our FOB issues, AGL's, and rapid firing guns, that basically create a wall of lead.....Coas, mentioned buying gatling guns and it was all over the news, I have never seen one or seen anyone that has seen one.....3 gatling guns in a FOB, are a game changer, as it basically, makes the assaulters hide their heads in a region of no cover and wipe out technicals while mortars wreck the BHT, but seems this common sense isnt common.

I'm afraid Cameroon was not involved in that operation in any way. It was Nigeria, T'Chad and Niger. The MRAPs were Nigérian , Artillery was D-30 2A18 122mm Nigerian howitzers, ground troops Nigerian also and the Mi-8 helicopter T'chadian.

Malkanory is in the T'Chad-Niger-Nigeria sector of the lake T'Chad hence the involvement of the national forces. The latest Nigerian-led MNJTF strategy on operation Yancin Tafki against ISWAP focuses heavily on cooperation.

You can clearly see the MRAP with a Niger flag and the helicopter with a T'chadian TT- serial number.

That's Niger republic's flag

High altitude, low opening parachute jump.....you jump at high altitude using gas masks and specialized cloths to glide more effectively.....to cover a long distance, and give the aircraft relative safety......then open the parachute at low altitudes, you could over a distance of as much as 40kms using this technique, there is also HAHO: OPENING the chute at high altitude.

Does not seem to respond when there is good news about Nigeria.
Let there be bad news
Let Premium times who only half the time gets the news right he is on it.
His comments about not caring about other countries losing equipment are asinine.
Because this is war every belligerent loses equipment that is fact regardless of competence or incompetence
The US lost 2 Chinooks in a single operation to possible RPG from the Taliban
Does that mean they don't fly anymore.
I am thankful that Nigeria is now producing the ARA.
If a military commander is competent he would know how to hold / repel a base
It doesn't come down to Premium times reporting an elementary three pronged advance with their embellishing. They were not there.
My point is incompetence can rear its ugly head at the FOB level regardless.
But for him to insinuate Nigeria shouldn't manufacture its own equipment because it might be stolen is ludicrous..How many engagements have been repulsed by the NA on a daily basis ?
That is not reported.
How many times have we seen our boys stand up ?
A setback is a a setback no bones about it.
But his cavalier defeatist attitude is what he is made of .
And no one gives a 's ads about his ex girlfriend who had enough sense to leave his sorry ads

My friend , USA lost the chinook, when inserting a QRF and SEALS without their apache escorts , they where deploying to an hostile area, where hostile actions had been happening for about a full day......its like dropping a static school bus, in the middle of a bank robbery......they did something stupid, we are doing something stupid, and the result turned out bad

If the almighty US with billions of dollars in defence funding and a military industrial complex as compared to non could loose FOB's, military equipment and men to the Taliban, then I don't know why you should be "not at the rate of Nigeria military lol". Is your country helping in funding for the equipment?

You remind me of the reason I left my last girlfriend, yoo much excuses, instead of trying to be better, we shouldn't be losing equipments to bht, i dont care what is happening to other armies , we are doing things wrong, that is why we losing equipments at these rate, with the amount of equipment we have lost to BHT in ten years, they will overrun Benin and Togo's army comfortably.

Nigerian Army receives new indigenous MRAP
Erwan de Cherisey, Paris - Jane's Defence Weekly

The Nigerian Army has taken delivery of five improved Proforce Ara mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles in early March, an industry source told Jane’s .

These are now deployed in northeast Nigeria as part of the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign against the militants popularly known as Boko Haram.

The new vehicles are a heavily modified derivative of the original Ara, eight of which were delivered to the Nigerian Army in 2018.

The same industry source said the new variant features significant enhancements, most notably a fully monocoque hull. The previous Ara used a Tatra 2.30 TRK 4×4 truck chassis. Design work began in January 2018 with feedback from the military on the original Aras being used to refine it further.

Then the army will give it out to boko haram

Isn't the Nigerian Airforce becoming too interested in terrestrial capabilities?.

Of course,I understand the need for trained manpower, but I think this is more the domain of the NA. All these resources we are spending to expand NAF infantry should be used to order more combat and surveillance aircrafts, and improve on R& D of local components.

Maybe it is a sign of vote of no confidence on the army to hold the ground to protect the air force, so they choose to produce their own ground force to protect them
