Politics / OBJ Failed The Abiola’s Family And The Yoruba People – Dat Iwo Boi by STEPHENBOI(m): 9:24am On Jun 13, 2018
Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola is a man who surmounted my struggles; right from birth. MKO lived up to Ola Rotimi’s famous quote of life struggles beginning at birth as the name Kashimawo means “let’s keep observing”; a name given to a child who is expected to be a still-birth (fetal death, natal death or death between birth to about 28 weeks after delivery), after the mother must encountered a few previous still-births.

MKO was born to Salahudeen and Suliyat Abiola, who are victims of real poverty; absolute not relative. Right from childhood, he had to fetch wood to afford education. The tale of MKO’s first encounter with fried eggs has been told countless times to described the level of poverty MKO passed through. When MKO got to his girlfriend, Simbiat Shoaga’s house, he was offered a meal and he asked what the meal is. MKO was told that it is fried eggs. He infamously asked, “Do they fry eggs”?

Philantropy Within a relatively short time after then, MKO grew to become the richest man in Africa, surmounting another challenge, and fulfilling the prophecy of a good woman being behind every successful man. Of course, Africa has a long history of having great men who have amassed greater wealth than what MKO could garner; after all, Emperor Mansa Musa of Mali is reputed to be the wealthiest man to grace the surface of the earth.
What Africa never had is a man with the generosity of MKO’s heart and hands. There was just no one near that. MKO financed everything and everyone and left a golden mark on whatever he touched. Before the days of Globacom, MKO was the biggest financier of sports in Africa and Nigeria which famously earned him the moniker “Pillar of Sports in Africa”. MKO had a large and encompassing scholarship scheme and was a contributor to the erection of many mosques and churches in Nigeria.
There is another tale about MKO, the like of which I have never heard again. One day, MKO was going on a trip and on his way he observed a gathering of Muslims. He stopped to observe what was going on and he was told that a fund-raising is being held for the construction of a mosque. The total fund needed was N5million. MKO donated N4.8million and went on his way. Those soliciting for funds did not know whether to continue with the programme or just put an immediate end to it.
As the Baba Adini of Nigeria, MKO had a Quranic Printing Press and hardly would anyone have to pay to get a Quran in Nigeria as all MKO’s Quran are printed and distributed freely en masse. MKO facilitated the translation of the Quran into Yoruba language. He was a pioneer for Islamic philanthropy in Nigeria.

Politics MKO’s public achievements and track record of altruism and volunteerism made him an easy choice for the number one position in the country during the June 12 elections 25 year ago. Even though SDP’s MKO won in all 5 SW states; that was the only election ever held in Nigeria where all manners of Nigerians discarded all manners of ethnic and religious garbs to vote for a candidate on the sole basis of merit, despite never previously holding a political office. I say this because as young as I was then, I knew that the NRC was also an equal rival in the SW then.
This is evident in the loss of Lagos State to Michael Otedola. Because MKO was an easy choice to make, the election was an easy one to conduct and adjudged till this day as the only free and fair election ever held in this country. I could vividly remember some of the political activities that happened then.

Sadly, the evil genius living up to reputation will annul that election without uttering a valid reason till this day.
MKO had two choices, to stand up for the people and his mandate and suffer whatever consequence it would attract or to resign to fate and accept a lucrative contract from the demonic Abacha government. After one year of Abacha’s reign, MKO declared the inauguration of a parallel government and decided to fight for his mandate. His deputy, Babagana Kingibe would rather accept to become a minister under MKO’s tormentor. My heart bled hearing the same Kingibe speak on a day as glorious as this earlier today before being conferred with one of the highest honours in the land.

MKO would then be incarcerated for the next 4 years and lost his wife, his businesses and his freedom in the process in another struggle he surmounted till Abacha’s death on 08 June 1998. But a month later on 07 July 1998, MKO would pay for his tormentor’s death with his own life in a trademark revenge pattern employed by the Northern political class. Needless to remind us that Aguiyi Ironsi’s and many other Igbo people’s lives were cut short by this same class as an aftermath of the 15 January 1966 coup d’etat 6 months later, a coup which Ironsi never participated in.

Without disrespect to the Northern folks, the ability of the Yoruba race to pick itself up and move forward in the best interest of the country while embodying the greatest spirit of pardon is what distinguishes us from the rest of the country; and which makes me chin-up proud as a Yoruba man.

What if Abiola had not averted another civil war in 1993? What if the Yoruba had been completely irritated by Abiola’s needless death in 1998 despite the fact that Abacha had died earlier? What if we had reacted to the murder of Ladoke Akintola and Ademulegun during the Jan 1966 coup? The forgiving and progressive spirits of the Yoruba race have kept this country going and when those spirits are finally extinguished, there would be no Nigeria again.
Olusegun Obasanjo

When the military finally agree to cede the leadership of the country to civilians, all political actors in the country decided to concede the Presidency to the South-West, as a compensation for MKO’s loss. Of the 3 political parties in the country then, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) largely accepted in the East and South-South presented Obasanjo (OBJ), Alliance for Democracy (AD) which was more favoured in the SW presented Olu Falae while the All People’s Party (chiefly a northern party) was sympathetic to AD’s Falae. OBJ won.

Throughout the 8 years of OBJ’s reign, nothing symbolic could be attributed to have been done by OBJ to honour the person whose name paved the way for his presidency. The height of the insult came when N1,000 notes were introduced in 2005. Everyone’s expectation was dashed when the notes were seen to bear the first 2 indigenous governors of the CBN, Mai-Borno and Isong, rather than the much favoured MKO Abiola. Where in the world would anyone place CBN governors on currency notes, no matter how bereft of heroes their country could be?
There would be fewer OBJections than support to the position that OBJ neglected the development of the SW in favour of the north throughout his 8 years.
Self-serving to a fault, the height of his mischief was displayed with his stubborn commitment to a failed unconstitutional third-term bid. In every way possible, he failed the Abiola family, the Yoruba people and all those connected to the June 12 struggle.

Muhammadu Buhari
Buhari was a man who became president not mainly by his own merit by largely by the demerits of the excessively corrupt and impune preceding administration. As a president who enjoyed goodwill larger than any of his predecessors, Buhari was expected to right every wrong of the past administration, especially in the maintenance of fairness among all groups in the region; where the past administration failed. However, the last 3 years have shown the brazen display of the highest level of nepotism by a sitting Nigerian President.
However, since a fortnight ago when the administration clocked 3 years, a different kind of Buhari is emerging. The
# NotTooYoungToRunBill was signed and another bill which separates the fund for the executive, the legislative and the judiciary at the state level was signed.

The height of it was the recognition of MKO Abiola as the winner of 12 June 1993 election, which signals the beginning of the end of a 25-year old injustice. MKO was also honoured with the highest title in the land and will now be proudly addressed as Late Bashorun M. K. O. Abiola, Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Gani Fawehinmi, a late activist-lawyer and frontier of the June 12 struggle was also honoured with the title of Grand Commander on the Order of the Niger. It is however saddening to see the treacherous Babagana Kingibe giving a speech on this glorious day and being conferred upon with the title of GCON as well.

OBJ vs PMB
OBJ’s exemplar constantly reminds me of the need to right my wrongs in my youthful years, rather than when I am out of vogue. OBJ, since out of office, has always been on the forefront in causes that are of immense benefits to the country.

Science/Technology / Easy Way To Check BVN On MTN, Airtel, Etisalat & Glo by STEPHENBOI(m): 7:12am On Apr 03, 2018
Do you want to know how to check BVN on MTN, Airtel, Etisalat and Glo? This article provides a detailed guide that will help you to cope with this task easily.

Questions about the BVN check began to appear since the Central Bank established a single Biometric Identification System. Each person is assigned a unique 11-digit number necessary for the registration of clients of Nigerian banks. The number of your accounts does not matter. In any case, you will have to create only one BVN to which all financial records will be tied.

HOW TO CHECK BVN?
11 digits is quite a long combination. It’s not a problem if you have forgotten your unique number. There is simple code to check BVN.

HOW TO CHECK BVN ON MTN?
If you are subscribed to MTN, take a phone and type *565*0#.
After a short wait, BVN will appear on the mobile phone screen.
Note that such a service costs 10 Naira. So it is desirable to write down the BVN somewhere not to check it again and pay every time you perform a check.
HOW TO CHECK BVN ON GLO?
If you are subscribed to Glo, first make sure that there are at least 10 Naira on your account. This commission will be charged for the BVN checking.
Text *565*0# on your phone.
Very soon NBV will appear on the screen.

Politics / Boko Haram Deserves Amnesty – Presidency by STEPHENBOI(m): 5:26pm On Apr 02, 2018
Garba Shehu, the spokesman of President Muhammadu Buhari, has described the amnesty the president granted to Boko Haram members as a “win-win situation.” Giving amnesty to Boko Haram insurgents would stop the bloodshed in the country and save massive resources, says the Presidency.

While receiving the freed Dapchi schoolgirls on March 23, Buhari had said the federal government was willing to accept the unconditional laying down of arms by repentant insurgents.

Speaking at an interactive session with state house correspondents during the weekend, Shehu said the amnesty would help the insurgents to “be useful to the nation.”

According to The Cable, Garba Shehu also said the measure would help the government save cost by channelling funds used in the war against insurgency to other areas.

“It is proverbially said all wars end up in the boardroom. You can defeat people technically on the field but at the end, you must come to the conference room to resolve all issues ” he said.

“So, if Boko Haram would lay down their arms and stop fighting and stop preaching their negative ideology, the country should be able to embrace them; welcome all of them so that they continue to live normal lives and be useful to the nation.

“What that means is that we will be saving cost, saving lives that are being lost through bombing, killing of service personnel and we will be saving money that we are using to procure weapons so that such money can go into services and infrastructure and welfare of the citizens of this country. It is a win-win situation.”

The presidential spokesman described as unfair, allegations that the president is shielding herdsmen accused of killings.

Politics / "Social Media Is A Very Big Problem For This Country" - Garba Shehu by STEPHENBOI(m): 3:59pm On Apr 02, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has expressed his displeasure with the negative influence that social media has on governance in the country.

While speaking during an interview on Sunday, April 1, 2018, the president’s spokesperson lamented that Nigerians fail to give President Buhari enough commendation for his good job because social media tends to view everything negatively.

Shehu further condemned reports that the president is shielding killer herdsmen from the law, arguing that it’ll take more than the president to achieve such a feat.

He said, “I hope you also realise that the social media has brought a lot of good things to the world and it has also brought a lot of problems not only in Nigeria but everywhere in the world.

“Nations of the world are talking about regulations and control, this is happening in Germany in the United Kingdom even the United States you see that a lot these technology companies are being fined for infringements that they cause.

“The thing is that there is a tendency to see things from a negative point of view when your point of view is shaped and colored by the social media.

“It’s always been heard that the default position of the social media itself is to be negative, so people have turned out to ignore grand reality and project images that are very negative.

“Otherwise I wonder, this is an administration that has done so extremely well and to a president who has sworn to an oath to defend the constitution and protect every life and property, it is very unfair and uncharitable to say that he will shield anybody, and in any case, the president controls only one layer of authority, what are the governors doing, is the social media also saying that the governors are protecting the herdsmen from the law, are they saying the local government are also protecting them?

“You see it has to take everyone at various levels of authority to shield somebody from the law in those circumstances, and the president himself, his passion is for the country, this is a president whose passion is not even for the office, even when everyone is asking him to go for a second term he is keeping quiet because his focus remains the nation and the problem of the country.”

Celebrities / The Hidden Truth Behind P-square’s Breakup – Read Their Story by STEPHENBOI(m): 3:18pm On Apr 01, 2018
There is no use waiting for new P-Square music, as the group has broken up for good. If you want to know what happened between the two brothers, then check out this article, where we will tell you the real facts about the P-Square split. The truth might shock you!

P-SQUARE FIGHT (PAUL’S SIDE)
It is not like the Okoye brothers have never fought before. The two have threatened two break up several times before (at least three times, but who is counting?), but each time they made up and continued with their career. So what could have happened this past September?

It has been more than half a year since the conflict between the two brothers. There have been no major developments on the story until about a week ago, when Paul decided to give an interview to Showtime Celebrity, in which he explained what happened from his point of view. You can find the full interview on Vanguard.

From what we have been able to gather, Paul does not like talking about what happened. He shared that he did not appreciate the questions about his personal life, particularly about the relationship with his brother.

That said, Paul admitted that he took his brother’s exit from their group to heart. For months, he could not do anything, as he felt really low. Nevertheless, Paul has since bounced back and returned to his normal state.

When asked about whether P-Square will ever get back together, the musician said that it was not him who left the group, and he has waited long enough for his brother to return. Alas, Peter did no such thing, which means that there is probably no future for P-Square.

P-SQUARE FIGHT (PETER’S SIDE)
Now that we have talked about Paul’s side of the story, let’s consider Peter’s for a moment. Why did he decide to leave the group that has brought him immense popularity?

Well, the short answer is that Peter decided that he no longer wanted to be in a group with his brother, so he quit. The long answer is that Peter had a very solid reason for leaving the group.

According to various reports, both his twin brother Paul and their older brother Judehave behaved extremely inappropriately towards Peter and his family. Apparently, they were stirring up all kinds of drama and even threatening the safety of Peter’s wife and kids.

All three brothers were seen fighting in public, as well as on their social media, which only heated the public’s attention. Later, when the anger died down, the family lawyer had to come out and say that nobody was at fault for what happened, and that all that happened was because of too much emotion and passion.

Other than that, there is little else known about the conflict and its causes. Even though quite some time has passed, it is evident that P-Square is not very likely to exist ever.

HOW P-SQUARE STORY STARTED
P-Square started out as a young brother duo of Peter and Paul Okoye, when the two of them were in school, however, back then, they were not yet known as P-Square. For some time, the brothers even were a part of a quartet that sang a cappella (can you imagine that?), but, as you can see, it did not last long.

At the dawn of the twenty first century, Peter and Paul finally realized that they did not need anyone else to become successful musicians and decided become a duet. Before they settled on P-Square, they tried the names P&P, Double P and Da Pees.

After winning Grab Da Mic in 2001 and releasing their debut album in 2003, P-Square began gaining immense popularity. Over the next decade, the dynamic twin duo managed to become one of the most successful Nigerian musicians, with fans all over the world. For many years, the two were the richest musicians in the country, raking money from their tours and music sales.

WHERE IS P-SQUARE NOW?

If you have stopped following the duo after their breakup, then you might be surprised that two brothers are still doing very well, even on their own. Of course, they are not quite as popular separately as they were together.

As we have mentioned previously, it took a long time for Paul Okoye to return to the studio and create music on his own. However, time has passed, wounds have healed (or at least scabbed over), and Paul is back again. These days, the man performs under the name RudeBoy or King Rudy. Even without his brother, he manages to gather large crowds for his concerts, and his songs get thousands of hits. Paul also enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

If you want to follow the life of King Rudy, you can find him on Twitter and Instagram @rudeboypsquare and on Facebook and Snapchat @rudeboyfire. It is interesting to see that he still has not dropped the P-Square part from his socials.

As for Peter Okoye, he wasted no time on building his solo career. Despite the fact that he was the one who initiated the breakup, Peter, or Mr. P, as he is now known, often uses the name P-Square, as can be seen on his concert posters.

Just like his brother, he is making his own music, touring different countries and seemingly enjoying the luxurious life of a solo artist. You can find him @peterpsquare on Twitter and Instagram. Nevertheless, he is far from being as popular as P-Square once was.

Overall, it seems like this breakup has been a long time coming. Tensions between the brothers have been building up over the years, and 2017 just became the year when everything fell apart. Neither of the brothers feel like talking about this anymore, so it would be best if we leave it alone as well. Whether P-Square ever gets back together or not, we hope that both Peter and Paul have a bright future.

Politics / Top 5 Dictator Leaders In Nigeria{past And Present}who Do You Think Is D Baddest by STEPHENBOI(m): 1:02pm On Mar 20, 2018
1.Sani Abacha; Abacha was a Nigerian Army officer and politician who served as the de facto President {Head of State} of Nigeria from 1993 to 1998. Abacha’s military career is distinguished by a string of successful coups. He is by some records the most successful coup plotter in the history of Nigeria’s military.

Abacha, then a 2nd Lieutenant with the 3rd Battalion in Kaduna, took part in the July 1966 Nigerian counter-coup from the conceptual stage. On 17 November 1993, Abacha overthrew the short-lived transitional government of Chief Ernest Shonekan . In September 1994, he issued a decree that placed his government above the jurisdiction of the courts, effectively giving him absolute power. Another decree gave him the right to detain anyone for up to three months without trial.

Abacha’s government was accused of human rights abuses, especially after the hanging of Ogoni activist,Ken Saro-Wiwa. Moshood Abiola and Olusegun Obasanjo were jailed for treason, and Wole Soyinka charged in absentia with treason. During Abacha’s regime, he and his family reportedly stole a total of £ 5 billion from the country’s coffers. In 2004, Abacha was listed as the fourth most corrupt leader in history. Abacha died in June 1998 while at the presidential villa in Abuja.

2. Lamidi Adedibu: Lamidi Ariyibi Akanji Adedibu was an aristocratic power broker in Oyo State , Nigeria . Former President Olusegun Obasanjo described him as the “father of the PDP.

His brand of politics was described as a blend of populism and raw thuggery that often compelled either violent loyalty or violent opposition. It was said that nobody assumed any political post in Oyo state without Adedibu’s approval, leading to him being called “the strong man of Ibadan politics” he was a tyrant during his days.

He bought the philosophy that Oyo state cannot serve a single governor for 2 term, the gin that was broken by the present governor Ajimobi. There’s a saying in ibadan about him that says “idameji ibadan ti won pe ni enikan so so” Adedibu died at the University College Hospital in Ibadan on 11 June 2008

3. Olusegu Obasanjo: Obasanjo was a career soldier before serving twice as his nation’s head of state. He served as a military ruler from 13 February 1976 to 1 October 1979, and as a democratically elected president from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. From July 2004 to January 2006, Following a failed coup by Lt. Col. Dimka in which General Murtala Mohammed was killed.

Obasanjo was chosen as head of state by the supreme military council on 13 February 1976. Obasanjo resigned as head of state and also resigned from the army on 1 October 1979, handing over power to the newly elected civilian president of Shehu Shagari. Obasanjo was also accused of being responsible for political repression. In one particular instance, the compound of Nigerian musician and political activist Fela Kuti was raided and burned to the ground after a member of his commune was involved in an altercation with military personnel. Fela and his family were beaten and raped and his mother, political activist Funmilayo Ransome Kuti , was killed by being thrown from a window. Her coffin was carried to Obasanjo’s barracks as a protest against political repression.

In 2003, President Olusẹgun Ọbasanjọ ran for a second term under People’s Democratic Party and won by a margin of more than 11 million votes. Obasanjo was embroiled in controversy regarding his “Third Term Agenda,” a plan to modify the constitution so he could serve a third, four-year term as President. This led to a political media uproar in Nigeria and the bill was not ratified by the National Assembly.

4. Bola Tinubu: Chief Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu was elected Senator for the Lagos West constituency in Lagos State , Nigeria in 1993. This election was just prior to a military take-over in December 1993. After the return to democracy, he was elected governor of Lagos State, holding office from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007.

He is an influential member of the All Progressives Congress party; he also holds both the chieftaincies of the

Celebrities / Top 5 Nigeria Artists That Has Moved From Being Veteran To Upcoming Artist by STEPHENBOI(m): 8:15am On Mar 19, 2018
The Nigerian music industry has without any doubt grown beyond our expectations. And as some of these artists improve while some also fall behind

Here's the compilation of the artist that has fall behind in the industry.

Ice prince:Panshak Zamani, better known by his stage name Ice Prince, is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and actor. He rose to fame after releasing "Oleku", one of Nigeria's most remixed songs of all time. He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour. Ice prince was once rated as the best rapper in Africa and he was nominated as next rated alongside with wizkid, olamide and Tiwa Savage and these guys has done amazing job in the Nigeria industry expect for Ice prince who now sound like an upcoming artist these days. We hope he get back on track as soon as possible

Sean tizzle:Morihanfen Oluwaseun Oluwabamidele, popularly known as Sean Tizzle, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was formally signed to Sound Sultan's record label Naija Ninjas. He currently has a record deal with Difference Entertainment. He won the next rated award in 2013 where he was nominated alongside Burna Boy, sheyi shey, phyno and Dammy Krane. Education / Top 3 Courses You Shouldn't Study In Uniosun by STEPHENBOI(m): 9:02am On Sep 02, 2015
Good day readers, i'm a student of our great osun state University (uniosun). Each university have one or two course that is very tough, to make it easier I decided to write for people getting admitted to Osun State University and also to tell you there are some courses you have to avoid/pay more attention to study in Uniosun.

Geology: Geology is the study of Earth's materials, structures and processes and is a four years course in uniosun. Geology has never produced a first class student in uniosun, the student with the highest CGPA ever in geology has 3.8. Geology admits at least 30 students per year and there has never been a year 10 students graduated from the department, in geology, their lecturers will tell you A is for God, B is for lecturer and C is for the brilliant students among you. Lol, these people have forgotten that 70% of nigerian youths are average students.. So I dare say you as an average students, the tendency of coming out in flying colors there is very low.

Physic/Electronics ; When you hear the word electronics, you will actually think their work is related to electrical/electronic. Na lie.. What they do their is pure physics, the course should rather be called pure and applied physics. Let's go back to the department. Physics is the fundamental study of matter and space and their interactions and evolution in time, while electronics is the application of this knowledge to meet human needs in science and technology. The first definition (definition of physics) is only what they study in this department. This department has produced a couple of first class students. They admit at least 50 students to this department every year and there has never been a year 20 students graduated from this department. The graduating set in 2014/2015 114 students made it to final year and just 13 graduated. This department is one of the toughest department in uniosun.

Microbiology: Microbiology is a laboratory-based science studying the micro-organisms which affect human, animal and plant health.. The reason this department is tough is their marking scheme and the way their lecturers invigilate in exam Hall. In this department if you are caught talking to your friend. You have to fill malpractice form not to talk of bring expo inside the hall. And the least penalty you can get from filling that form is suspension for 2 semsester..the department and the course is actually a very good one.. Buh the lecturers will make it difficult for you. When I was in 100level 90% of us failed BIO 101.. Anywhere you see a microbiology lecturer supervising you, then you should be careful.. This particular department has sent nothing less than 30 students out of uniosun..some students will say "I will rather carry the course willingly" than to allow a microbiology lecturers supervise me....BEWARE.

DISCLAIMER: All these courses above with points related to the article are purely nothing but my personal opinion. I purely have nothing against anybody. Any correction you find worthy should be dropped in the comment section of this particular post. Thank you.
