There was a rowdy session few minutes ago between PDP and APC factions of Sensors over the screening of Amaechi.

Minority leader of the senate, Godswill Akpabio announced that the PDP caucus in the senate had agreed not to partake in the screening of Amaechi since there are petitions against him that they have not resolved while the Majority leader of the senate, Ali Ndume countered him and said since the PDP senators do not have questions for Amaechi, he should be allowed to take a bow and go. PDP senators vehemently rejected the request and the proper screening began.

A suspected armed robber was yesterday October 19,2015 burnt beyond recognition by a mob at the Federal University of Technology Owerri FUTO, Imo State.

He was caught when him and his gang members were trying to steal a motorcycle from an okada rider at  night.Unfortunately for him,he was caught while his gang members escaped.

Borno state Governor Alh Kashim Shettima and Director General National Emergency Management Agency NEMA Alh Muhammad Sani Sidi who arrived Maiduguri on Thursday paid a visit to the scene of the multiple Bomb blast that occured in Mulai a community in the outskirts of Maiduguri along Damboa Biu road.The DG and the Governor also visited the injured victims of the bomb blast who are receiving medical treatment in hospitals across the metropolis. 

The Director General donated Relief materials to Borno state Government on behalf of Displaced persons in communities recently liberated by the Military in Bama, Dikwa, Kaga, Konduga , Askira Uba and Gwoza local government areas of Bono state.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party is presently holding its 67th NEC meeting at the National Secretariat Abuja.

She departed with a dream and returned home a record-breaker.

Inspired by the Tuskeegee Airmen, 15-year-old Kimberly Anyadike of Nigerian descent flew a single-engine Cessna cross-country from her hometown of Compton, Calif., to Newport News, Va.

Anyadike is thought to be the youngest female pilot to complete the journey, which took 13 days.

Anyadike learned to fly at age 12 through the Compton-based Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum, which offers aviation lessons in an after-school program for disadvantaged youths.It was their plane that she flew.

The brave teenager came up with the idea for the trip on her own, the museum’s founder, Robert Petgrave, said.

“I told her it was going to be a daunting task, but she just said, ‘Put it on. I got big shoulders,'” Petgrave said.

Along for the historic ride were an adult safety pilot and 87-year-old Levi Thornhill, one of the Tuskeegee Airmen during World War II.

“They left such a great legacy,” Anyadike said of the U.S. Army Air Corps’ all-black combat unit. “I had big shoes to fill. … All they wanted to do was to be patriots for this country. They were told no, that they were stupid, that they didn’t have cognitive development to fly planes. They didn’t listen. They just did what they wanted to do.”

About 50 Tuskeegee Airmen autographed the young pilot’s plane during her journey, the Times reported.

“I wanted to inspire other kids to really believe in themselves,” Anyadike said.

Orlando Martins, born in Lagos to a civil servant Brazilian father, he was the first Nigerian hollywood star. 

In this scene he stars alongside former actor Turned US president Ronald Reagan in the "Hasty Heart" 1949. After this he acted in many other top hollywood films such as Mister Moses, West of Zanzibar and more till he died at the age of 85 in Lagos and was buried at Ikoyi Cemetery.
