Sponsoring surveys or clearing or sandfilling requires a lot of money..depending on the area and location of the site.
For 100 - 200Acres.. The usual cost ranges from 30-50M. Its a lot of money. I don't have that yet.

Like I said, I am a surveyor. I get a certain percentage of the land after all is done. I will also be the one to do the survey and lodge it. So I make you the investor good money while making myself money too.

Buying land is not AS Profitable as you all paint it.

It takes at least 10 years to turn profit in real estate. (especially when you build and rent)

Treasury bills, can beat that through: rates fluctuations and compounding effect.

There is nothing like "high yield and good ROI" per say in real estate..

In the time you are waiting for the land to appreciate, a treasury bills investor is compounding guaranteed interests yearly and can reach 100% profit in 8 years.

While you, real estate speculator (investor), are still racing to recover your invested capital...not close to Profit!

I have a client who likes to buy properties facing the road here in Lagos. I assure you he makes more than x3 of whatever he invested in less than 2 years if and when he decides to sell.

Someone sponsored the survey and clearing of 100 Acres of land at Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos. As per the agreement you get two plots on one acre done. One for clearing, one for survey. This is a land that is inside a village excision and gazetted already. Meaning he gets 200 plots of gazetted land. When he decides to sell, he will sell at nothing less than 2M/plot if he wants to make his money fast. Do the maths for 200plots.
And how much did he spend in total? Less than 40M.
Although this cost more, sponsoring survey and clearing. But people do it. Some even do sandfilling for family lands.

This is one of the secret the rich won't tell you about real estate investment.

Your major at the diploma level may not be that paramount to some employers. The head of capital at my previous workplace has a Bsc in building however he got the CFA designate. My advise is ICAN is an accounting certification that touches finance just a little bit, if the goal is to be an accountant then this is no brainer. However, Most of my friends with ACA designate come over to tap knowledge of the finance and investment world. If you look at going into investment and finance, go with CIS - CFA . You will thank me later . On the other hand there are loads of folks out there in both fields with either certification blooming however they have the required knowledge

If you're not looking for short term gains, I'd suggest you invest in genuine landed properties

The best bet is to get your ACCA or ICAN qualification. YYou can then use that to apply for MSc Finance in a university. You will be accepted.

Hi. As someone with no previous finance degree, if I do ICAN, will that make me eligible for an MSC in finance?

Can you give examples of universities that accept that qualification?

The finance industry is very open so far you can get the technical knowledge required.

Now that you just realized you have passion for Finance)Accounting, enroll for ICAN.

Although CFA will give you an edge, it's quite expensive tho.

If you have the fund too, opt for an MBA at a top Business School, companies will be lining up to employ you.

Hello. My name's Steve. I am an HND holder in one of the environmental science courses. I recently discovered that I have passion for Finance/Accounting.

As someone with zero academic experience or knowledge on finance/accounting, how can I become an expert in the field?

I've seen some posts on here about the CIS program and ICAN program but I am still confused. Which is better on the long run career wise and in terms of job prospects? Can I do both?

After the certification can I use it for BSc/MSC? As most positions require a finance degree for job.

I need your advise and suggestions pls. I intend to start something soon.
