ACM10: Are you telling us that OBAMA does not have the power to sack BEN BERNANKE? You have broken the unenviable record of cluelessness.Thank you Bro, Its like saying HM QE II has no power to sack the gov. Bank of England. Its ludicrous ! Would parliament stand in her way even if they wanted to. No way. We only remember the intricacies of a properly functioning democracy when it suits us. Since when was Nigeria ever a functioning democracy?? If GEJ wants him gone he is gone ! |
ACM10: So Obama does not have the power to sack Bernanke? This Fulani arrogance is getting out of hand. In essence, Sanusi is telling Mr. President that the effective power of the land rests in the hand of the legislators. If Jonathan blinks in this stand-off, then he will be forever regarded as weak. He must set example with Sanusi, lest others will poke him in the eye and go scot free. Why on earth would GEJ blink ? What 'stand off' are you referring to ? An 'appointed' CBN gov and the President of Nigeria an, elected president for that matter. If this doesn't end the way it should end ie quickly and without any fuss then I'm sorry for this country. |
In any civil democracy, the president has the final say on who he hires, retains and fires. If he has asked the man to go he must go. I've never heard of any place in the whole world where a public officer is asked to leave by the chief executive and he refuses. Nigeria, always breaking unenviable records. |
I'm Neither a fan of Sanusi, GEJ or even OBJ for that matter but when your commander-in- chief tells you to go you GO !!! bizlifelines: I completely agree with Sanusi that the unremited $10.8billion should be of more priority to the president than the call for his resignation. A disagreement between a sitting president and his CBN Governor can be better managed than this approach the president is allegedly adopting. |
israel007: Inasmuchas* I'm pained by GEJ's actions, I don't see myself thumb printing to vote the likes of Tinubu and Buhari. |
Can you count the 6s ?
