I will categorically tell you US government scientists have tested it on ebola and found it effective against the virus. This test and results were not made public. Why? Because the mainstay of big pharma is its antibiotics and antiviral brands. You cannot patent a relatively cheap resource like silver, therefore you cannot make mega profits. The weak Nigerian government has folded and agreed that it is a pesticide. But if GEJ got ebola tomorrow he would definitely use nano silver. Nigeria is held hostage, by foreign govts. I wonder what the hype is about it been invented by a Nigerian. Nano supplements are not new. Its not possible a nigerian invented it, its been around for a long time. The use of nano particles are not limited to the medical sector. It has several industrial uses as well. Its sheer mischief to limit the classification of nano silver to 'Pesticide', millions of Americans take nano supplements for various reasons everyday. Its evident sometin is fishyThe alerts were not about nano particles but colloidal (microscopic) particles. There's a big difference between 'nano' and 'micro' nano is much smaller. Despite the warnings, the silver supplement industry in the U.S and worldwide still runs into several hundred millions to billions. Why haven't they banned it forever ? If you have an infection like multi drug resistant TB (MDR TB) you will be placed on extremely toxic meds for over 18 months. Thsese drugs are worse than any rat poison but at the CORRECT DOSAGE and concentration they can kill the disease causing bugs while doing minimal damage to the host. The patient's body eventually recovers from the damage while the disease is eradicated. There is no benefit without cost but at least you are still alive in the end. Pennywise: Maybe we should go back to the use of mercury for the treatment of syphilis. Nano silver as a prsospective drug for treating ebola is nothing but a cheap scam. I am shocked that a health minister can even voice this. What kind of a prof is he? We had better stick with our salt and water. It costs next to nothing and its far less poisonous.If the health minister must go, let him take his advisers and the head of national centre for disease control along with him. He didn't come to this conclusion all by himself. The people advising him are experienced scientists. I think the onus is for 'un believers' to disprove that nano silver is at the very least, useful in the fight against this menace. |

Forwetinnah: I think they should begin to really check this Nano silver stuff. Since its from the US, they can contaminate it to prove a point ( that's how low they can go). The Nigerians making these stuff had better take NOTE, all new batches should be checked!! I'm so appalled by the impunity of the US government. Rubbish!!Don't worry , I brought in my stock well before the ebola outbreak. Nobody's messed with it.  feel free to get yourself and family protected now.Its easier to prevent illness than cure it. Kx: The youtube video below says WHO, FDA and USA ARE not saying the truth.Nano silver has never been classified as a pesticide. This is desperate attempt to keep you subservient to the west. The EPA have warned that silver in high concentration is bad for aquatic life. But at 10ppm (particles per mole) silver is both safe to humans but lethal to microbes - fungi, bacteria and VIRUSES. The best Africa can do for itself, is find its own solutions, its own vaccines and cures. OPs assertions are not as far fetched as you think. Hiv made its debut and spread among gays in New york while they were participating in a trial for Hepatitis B vaccine in the late 1970s. Gay men only were selected as subjects, many eagerly volunteered because they thought the vaccine would protect their promiscuous ass from hep B. If anyone, must take an 'untested' vaccine let others take it before you and watch for a while. Don't rely on foreign govts to solve your problems for you. Pressurise your own govts to get up their ass and get to work. Unfortunately its very late now for them to do something about this crisis. Your govt owes you this. Its your right.
