Why is it that people don't get it? When it has to do with emotions it's either u get hurt or the other way around.

Y'all keep asking "how do I tell him/her without hurting their feelings" there's only one outcome to dis question, the person involved will have to deal with it, period.

The least u can do is try to present the issue as light/calm as possible, even at that the person at the receiving end will still get hurt. So it's best to cut the ties early and take a stand, not trying to lead the person deeper consciously or otherwise in the name of "hurting feelings" just like u did here .....
