Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a former senatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been declared the winner of the Labour Party (LP) governorship primary for Lagos.

Rhodes-Vivour was declared winner of the LP substitution primary, which took place at Ikeja, Lagos, on Wednesday.

He polled 111 votes to defeat Moshood Salvador, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 102 votes.

2023: Why Obi is ahead of Atiku – Keyamo

Mr Keyamo compared the three front-runners in the 2023 presidential election - Atiku, Mr Tinubu and Mr Obi - in terms of their capacity to take decisions.

The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential Atiku Abubakar is the least candidate out of the three leading presidential candidates in terms of capacity to make decisions.

While appearing on ‘Politics Today’, a political programme on Channels TV on Friday, Mr ]Keyamo said the former vice president has never held any executive position where the buck stops with him, whereas, the candidate of his party, Bola Tinubu, and their Labour Party opponent, Peter Obi, are ahead because of their experiences as former governors of Lagos and Anambra states, respectively.

Mr Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, said Mr Obi is “ahead of him (Mr Atiku) in terms of capacity to make decisions. So how are we going to hand the country to somebody who has never held a position—who has never shown capacity where he makes the final call. Atiku Abubakar is not tested, he is not trusted. He has never held such a position, even Obi is ahead of him.”

“The major rival we have today has never held an executive position where he makes the final call in government. So, we cannot second guess—Atiku Abubakar has never held an executive position where he made the final call; he was the vice president, he was not the chief executive, he was never governor, he was never anything. Even Peter Obi is ahead of Atiku Abubakar,” he said.

Mr Atiku was elected the governor of Adamawa State in 1998 before he was tapped by former President Olusegun Obasanjo as his running mate. He was elected as the Nigerian Vice-President and served in that capacity for two terms. In 2007, he ran for the president on the platform of the Action Congress, a party that was then under Mr Tinubu’s control. Mr Tinubu campaigned for him across the country, although, he came third in the election.

A year ago Zambians voted out a repressive regime and some Africans flooded our comments telling us we would regret it and that a new government would do nothing. Today the Zambian Kwacha is the best performing currency in Africa & 2nd best in the world, from the worst in 2021.

This is all thanks to the Zambian Youth. We knew that if we didn’t act and vote in a better leader, many of us would be forced to leave our country because it would have gone to hell. But this doesn’t mean we won’t hesitate to vote out the new government should they Bleep us over.

We are not allegiant to any political party or president. Quality life and respect for human rights is all we seek. What this has taught us is how much power we have and what we can do when we come together. Voter apathy only serves corrupt leaders.

I was in a cab which I rarely take n fools were praising Peter Obi led by one Igbo girl that was blowing grammar, I previous ignore their conversation n step asking the girl if she is well knowledgeable about Peter Obi so she does not back down when I start to question.

She affirmed she does na so I ask her to list 3 Peter Obi accomplished in his 8 years and answer if truly he was caught red-handed with over N260 million cash in Lagos. I told her to compare Peter Obi achievement with that of Tinubu in education transportation security IGR n economy let everyone judge by her own personal standards.

Na so everybody the cab silent till we reach Mushin from Ajah be that. Only fools that doe not bother to question achievement of Peter Obi will compare such a failure to Tinubu.
