Growing up, an uncle of mine (Mr Afam Ofodeme - the father of Kingsley Rapulu Ofodeme ) was called the salutation name Mmili-enwe-ilo (River/water has no enemies). Its meaning was not clear to me. Later, I heard Fela use it in a song: "Water no get enemy" (water has no enemies).

Gradually its meaning began to be clear to me.

Today, #PeterObi visited Femi Kuti, the first son of Fela, and put that principle into practicality that he is like water which has no enemies. It flows to all places, whether it is wanted or not. People of all races and ages and mannerisms use it.

When I was 15 years old and in secondary school, I read the book How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie and took a decision not to fight again or exchange curse words with people. Initially it was hard, especially given that l was growing up and in an all-male boarding school where boys would act rough and hard to prove that they were boys.

But somehow, I went on with the decision. Shortly after, it became easy. But even though people tell me that they admire how I keep my cool when provoked, I marvel at how Peter Obi reacts to attacks.

Wike came to Anambra and ridiculed Peter Obi right in his own territory. Obi did not respond. He eventually visited Wike.

Obi left the PDP but has never said one negative thing about the party.

Reno Omokri ridiculed Peter Obi. Obi did not respond.

Mbaka ridiculed Peter Obi in 2019 and again in 2022
and made negative pronouncements against him. Obi did not respond.

Kwankwaso ridiculed him. Omatseye ridiculed him. Tinubu ridiculed his party and pronounced an evil wish on them. In all that, Obi did not respond. He did not retaliate.

Despite how I have built myself not to engage in cursing and fighting, if you insult me or ridicule me, it is not every time that I keep quiet. I will not use a curse word against you, but I will most likely respond, especially to puncture any false claim made against me.

When I see someone who does much more than what I can do, I usually doff my hat to the person!

Obi operates on a completely different level.

The way Obi resolves issues is mind-blowing. He uses humility, forgiveness and love to disarm even his worst critics and opponents. I believe that if he were the candidate of the PDP or APC, the parties would not be facing the current crises. He would have unified all aggrieved factions without doling out huge sums of cash as most of our politicians are wont to do.

And his energy is amazing. In the morning, he is in Sokoto; in the afternoon, he is in Abuja; by the same evening, he is in Lagos. Yet he does not use a private jet.

May God continue to strengthen him and keep him safe for the great national task of reconciliation and rebuilding ahead.

This lady here is my best friend. We have been best of friends for over 10 years . She told me everything about her and I did remember her telling me about a guy that maltreated her while she was in secondary school.

Well, she finally got married to that same guy . According to her , the guy came back after so many years and she felt he is a changed man and have outgrown all his teens attitudes.
She visited him and spent one month with him and he was so nice . Didn't show any negative attitude.

But she said something, two days to their wedding after they have done their traditional wedding, the guy exhibited his negative trait.
She said she told her family that she won't do the wedding anymore. They all gathered and convinced her that it is the stress of planning wedding blabla.
After the guy apologized, they got married .

My friend hasn't enjoyed that marriage till date. Guy beat her up during and after pregnancy. Abuse her emotionally and curse her as well.
Guy bought her a car, but she isn't even happy to drive it . Her body pains her from beating this guy has given her. She wants out. Marriage that's just few years old.

I have every right to now believe that early signs in relationship shouldn't be ignored . I have seen Alot to dismiss this.

I am emotionally down honestly. If not that I am hearing this from her, I won't believe that a Man could be this cold towards his wife.

This lady is my one and only best friend. As a matter of fact, I was nursing plans to marry her but man never make it. We never had sex.

Well, she got married and our conversation slow down. I deliberately slow it down so as to respect her marriage.

One day I decided to call, the husband picked and warned me never to call her again. Omoh I was shocked.

Days after she called and apologized and explained how the man has completely changed and is maltreating her to the extend of beating her and emotional abuse. We spoke consistently and unfortunately, she left the marriage.

She came to my city was staying with her elder brother. We spoke for some time and I went off cos I didn't want to get too close so as not to attract emotional feelings.

Well, after some months, she blocked me from reaching her. For 9 months we haven't been in touch.

Yesterday she sent me a chat with a strange phone Facebook that I should give her my number. Since Yesterday, she has been pouring her emotional trauma on me.
Her marriage is hell. Emotional abuse, insults, beating.

As I am typing, she is still talking on phone. She is done with the marriage and wants to leave but she is scared of her son that's 1 year and 2 months old.

I really feel bad for her and don't even know how to help her.
It is painful. She is my best friend.
