How many pages should one write for a short story as a beginner and how many pages would you recommend that audience would like for a normal average story. Please explain using word counts, font size and types in ms word.

This is the standard:

Short Story ............ below 7,500 word count.
Novelette .............. btw 7,500 to 17, 500 word count.
Novella ............... btw 17, 500 to 40, 000 word count.
Novel ...................... over 40, 000 word count.
