I was abused severally by an older lady who lived with us when I was 6. When everyone went to school, I attended a home lesson close to the house and would return home before those who went to school because we closed early. It would be 2 of us only at home. She'd give me directions in what to do while she's undressed lying down. It went on for months. At times I would feel pain and discomfort but she'd force me to carry on. She threatened me never to tell anyone and I never did. Till date I've only told my wife this story and now you.

Eventually she left us and after some years, at her time of wedding, she fell ill and died before the date. I am in my late 30s now but can still remember every single thing that happened over 30yrs ago. My eyes are watering typing this.

Parents should pay equal attention in protecting their children, both male and female alike. Teach them what's appropriate and what's not when it comes to their body parts. And encourage them to speak up if something feels weird or unusual.
