TheGreatIYANU: Not me driving but a driver's driving. Mowe, Redeem camp and all the things you know today did not exist. And i said from Mile 2.and mile 2 to Benin is an expressway not a street. And no buy buy or pee break just vrooo all the way. |

brain54: Oh sure. In those days like movies, i was tracking the latest cars through Ebony magazine and CNN when cars and movies used to come out one by one every 4 or 6months. That's one route i was looking forward to run but nothing has taken me there. Speed was a thing for me since i.travelled alot growing up. But now my travel reasons dwindled and now everything looks new and fresh and exciting so no more speed. Unlike those days, i knew every bend, jump road and bridge, pothole, and i could almost drive with my eyes closed from Benin to Lagos and from Lagos to Abuja/kaduna and Lagos to Ikom. But its 3 years since i travelled by road interstate and i'm missing the expressway. And ah 160kph does not feel.like 100phh ooh. No way. The stopping will tell you. It feels like it takes 2 minutes,to come to comtrollable speed from 160kph. You just reminded me that the i ran 180 kph on that same Benin Lagos and i ate 2 hills of continous safe braking to drop to less than 80kph. That was when i decided not to run 180kph again. Even the 160 i.do is very tentative, but i am more comfortable with 140/150 |

samwash: When you say bypass, you have missed it. The road only peeled, it did not have craters. And you cannot imagine that that road did not have checkpoints. And you have obviously not driven a benz to see that, that car is truly a beautiful speeding beast that unless the road s like Badagry Seme, portholes do not affect it. 1 Like |

dgitrader: Yeah 3 toll gates then (Ijebu ode, Ore and Benin) but there was no back up in paying the toll and to me in 10 seconds payment is made. My uncle's Jetta did it in 3 hours. But My friends Santana did it in 2 also. Driver came from Lagos to pick him from school saw him approaching Benin toll gate while we were leaving. You wouldnt believe the driver caught my Hiace in Ijebu Ode toll gate and we both entered the toll booth at the same time And in seconds as my Hiace was lurching forward, Uncle Santana showed what take off looks like and secomds later it disapeared from sight. ![]() (Oga Ivory Bank driver, i.hail o. I follow your footstep small.) Check points then were not many i.think they were 3 tben and they only stopped Benz 200. (flat boot) because that was 419ers cars, which is another reason why it did not make the record. But all others just come to a roll and they do not need to stand still before police wave them on to go. But if it was benz 200, you must be stopped and parked. And eh, do you remember the Land Cruiser highway patrol? ![]() 2 Likes |

brain54: Wow! I would have love to.say i would do my own but for me travel includes stopping and buy buy and i like having at least half tank whenever i enter my destination, so i wont be pursuing this record. |

Rexymania: They used to patch the road before Uncle Jo relayared it. And that patch gave it a very sweet sound when speeding over it, gbush, grrrrrr, .gbush, gbi, ![]() Thats what makes me remember this road amd my many experiences on it. And this is where we say benz na benz. I bet you, you did not notice that that road is hilly and most cars lose speed going uphill, till today, even our dearly beloved Camry (though it is not like 504 ooh.) But in a Benz you will almost not know the difference between a plain and hill. 1 Like |

ElevationD: You obviously have not travelled in a benz before else you would know that portholes is part of the road and the car does not feel or notice it. Do you know that Ore to Bypass (Benin) is shy of 1 hour if you do not mind the fuel? 1 Like |

laivwire: Travel time! Thats True. I remember that when we started count from the house, it is always spoilt when our parents or driver turned into a petrol station to buy fuel whereas we thought the journey had started. So some people started counting from lagos toll gate (goodbye to lagos) And yes, the consensus was tbat Lagos,Ibadan was 1 hour but many people too say that they did it in 45minutes (my neighbour and his Datsun Laurel) For luxurious bus i am sure you are thinking Volvo's Maecopolo and Mercedes Scania,. These ones came in around 1999. The available ones were either these ones https://www.shutterstock.com/search/mercedes-benz-old-bus or Federal Mass Transit (Anamco Mercedes bus 1414) And yss, J5 munched people especially in the North. |

Franzinni: This is the meaning of transcendence according to Google search "Transcendence comes from the Latin prefix trans-, meaning "beyond," and the word scandare, meaning "to climb." When you achieve transcendence, you have gone beyond ordinary limitations. The word is often used to describe a spiritual or religious state, or a condition of moving beyond physical needs and realities." Hence transcend means to something beyond ordinary limitations, like you turning yourself imto a bird to fly from PH to Atlanta, So, do tell, what and when and how did you.achieve transcension for i know people have never seen anyone transcend? So, don't run away, come and tell us what we do not know, if you speak the Truth. |
![]() |
Franzinni: Deflecting again! Did i say anything bout my beliefs? No. So dont kid yourself. I aint in the save your soul business. No I am in the Truth only budiness and right now, you have not been saying the Truth. So, all i am doing and going to do, is to argue against your delusions and the lies you hold that is all. And my beliefs are not in issue. So come and tell us what is True for in this universe, it is already a proven fact that your creations eg cars and phones and robots cannot die without your permission, so there is nothing to argue. So, why dont you live your life without delluding yourself if you truly thought that hell is not waiting for you at your death? |
![]() |
Franzinni: How many times have you tried transcending ino a bird so that you can fly abroad with no visa? Could you transcend? No. So, if you could not be whatever you wanted to be while you were a live and with energy is now when you were weak as steam over a tea cup? You are just deluding yourself. "The power of denial. It gives needed break from ongoing pain" David Kessler. |
![]() |
Franzinni: How many times have you brought back your car and phone to life? Can you name anything which died and its creator could not make it live again? No, there is none! Creations can never die unless their creators allow them and this is where that funny statement they say in movies applis where they say "you cannot die without my permission" |
![]() |
Franzinni: Stop deflecting. Your denial already proves that you are afraid to die. |
![]() |
DaddyCoool: As you already know that it is a public forum, therefore, like you.have a right to ask him, i also have a right to tell you to find your own way on your own and go.on your own. But see what you turned it into. |

brain54: Ah! Lagos to Warri. My first. You never forget your first. ![]() This was my firstest interstate travel after i started driving and it was unplanned oh! ![]() Wife, then fiancee, needed to be in wafi, but Lagos just cancelled environmental and people were not sure, so no bus and we were headed to check Jibowu, when it occurred to me that God and answered my prayers for interstate travel. And instead of going to Jibowu, i headed to toll gate and bye bye Lagos! That was were i learnt that Tokunbo cars are called belgium in Benin and entered warri at 7pm since i no gree settle police. ![]() And that was with my personal first, Audi80! ![]() 2 Likes |

And this is where the rise of our favourite Travel bus, the Toyota Hiace started from (Remind me of Peugeot J5 ![]() ![]() So, memory lane correct me if i.am wrong but, there were only 3 buses who run Lagos/Benin back then to wit Edegbe No 1, Iyare motors and G.E.M (Goddy Edosa Motors) And Edegbe mostly had Nissan and Toyota Coaster buses. Iyare, my first choice had coaster, luxurious and that Benz bus Mannheim 100 buses, And oneday, the powers that be said no more cars taking me to school but i should go by public transport. And God loving me so, uncle Hiace was standing there in Iyare, looking all green and yellow and me looking at it with anger and hatred, wondering why not Bendel Line (indomie Z would never know this after all those ones have 504 station wagon and station wagons is a car so it must be faster than a bus, me thinks! ![]() That was when i heard, its price was N120 or N150 i am not sure but i think it was N120 then it moves to N150, then N200. So, it was N120 and that was pricey at that time. (Indome, can never believe that it was N120 to Benin. I think the others were around N80 or so, but, thank God, the powers that be did not think to punish me like that! ![]() Then the journey started and oooh another sweetest day of my life, ![]() ![]() ![]() O what a sweet trip. My Iyare guy gap everybody for road save a few cars. In my mind, i think only 4 or 5 cars gapped us. ![]() And that was the begining of my travelling with only Hiace. The Hiace gapped the Nissan Urvan which was GEM's and Edegbe's own, so.i try to avoid them and will always pay to enter the Hiace. ![]() . I think it was only Iyare who had the Hiace then, especially as the bus had too much lip (bumper) and looked ugly/angry while the others were fine and in our snall minds then, fine meant fast, so you can imagine the pleasure that this mean looking thing was gapping everybody on the road! ![]() It was after this, that one by one transporters started buying it Then Uncle J5 came to add to my pleasure and need for speed. ![]() 11 Likes |

brain54: I did not say Benin City (township) i said Benin and Benin starts from that PPRoyal Hotel. So, you don't need to believe me (but you just reminded me of the shock and nostalgia i gave my school mates when i entered school at some minutes after 11. ![]() Its just sweet memories and remembrance and a trip to the past when vehicles were slow. 7 Likes |

brain54: See return leg where there is no checkpoint and time it. Even with my 2000 Chrysler T&C i ran from bypass to Ore in one hour. Maybe i'll try it oneday (don't think so sha) just to say, i told you. 1 Like |

dangoteinlaw: See bypass no dey then. And the finish line was Precious Palm Royal Hotel.(hope this is correct but this is how i remember that palm tree place on the left when coming from Lagos) And baby benz (190) was my first to make it. Left Lagos 9: that is started moving from mile 2 at 9am and was at Oluku junction (pprh) at 11:.am I remember it because i love speed and so i loved the record but i hated it because, i entered my much hated school too early. My normal time to enter school is always around 2:pm but that baby benz beast caused me sweet pain and happy sadness. So ill never forget it. Second time was with Vboot and i had to stop the driver from making it by pissing long pissing. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

rtdCivilservant: Indomie Z will always show themselves. All because checkpoint full your eyes you cannot therefore imagine that you could travel from Lagos to Onitsha and meet only 3 checkpoints. And if you are a retrd civil servant, then you retired with your 504, which takes 4 hours to get to Benin as it cannot run 160 km/h without sounding like the engineer would tear. So its manageable speed is 140km/h 14 Likes 1 Share |

DaddyCoool: At least you have admitted that he was not speaking to you and neither did he invite you to follow him which is my point. I did not say it was unreasonable for you to ask him, i just said that, you are on your own, go on your own! |

Who still remembers when the standard tine for running Lagos -Benin was 4hours plus? Whether, 504 or Volvo or Datsun? While buses took 6 hours (coaster); 7 hours Mercedes-Benz O 309 Mannheim 100 luxurious bus, 12 hours. Santana and 505 made it in 3hours. To me, Vboot and 190 were the first cars to run Lagos-Benin in 2hrs . Benz 200 (flatboot) was close but it made it in 2 hours and some minutes after. I know the Fuel gulping slowed its reach and most flatboots were heading to the East so, Onitsha people na im go get the record. So, was this your experience? 3 Likes 1 Share |

Franzinni: No matter how you try to live shortsightedly, your soul never lets you forget about your tonorrow's death and more especially when you see people dying around you. |
![]() |
Franzinni: Whether you strongly believe it or not, the real eyeity is that the life and existence of creations is in the hands of their makers. So, when God, your Creator, Says, there is life after death, it is so, especially as it is proven by the fact that people are afraid of death. So just hold it in mind that this is what you need to tell yourself esprciially as you know that you would be going to hellfire. |

DaddyCoool: Seei you are just proving me right. First, His coment shows that he was not speaking directly to you. Then, secondly, you are to embark on the jourmey of finding God yourself, if you or he want and he did not invite you nor say that he would show you the way or that you should follow him, ptoving what i said, you are on your own, go on your own! |
