Realistically, OPL operates library and a resort-in-hotels, these services are badly affected by covid-19. They can't make money to cover running costs and salaries.

The Post covid-19 is very at sight for economies and jobs. It will just take sometimes before things get back to normal.
If OPL sack is not fake, well isnt it better than keeping you without pay. But, OPL should do well to pay backlogs if truly the owner is truly believe Buhari hasn't done well.

The artists seeing how much is being made off them will want to break free and make money on their own. You are right at some valid points. But I don't think record labels can make the profit agreement to look bogus to keep them. What I think should be done is sign them for a year then review the contract agreement after a year. This will pave ways for remodeling, repackaging and separation if need be.

You quite know that labels sign artistes based on projection; this projection is based on both the strength/goodwill/business acumen of the label which may have gotten overtime in the industry and the strength and versatility of an artist.

They are not always 100% sure if an artiste will "blow".

So, the agreement is always based on projection at the so nearest level. And if the artist blows beyond projections it becomes the gains of the record label. This is why it is important for a serious artiste to insist on just one year contract. But some of them don't even believe in themselves, so they sign over three year, they refuse to blow, record label doesn't pay them well. They blow beyond even their expectations, record label has swindled them, tbose are the rhetorics.

These are the reasons I don't comment on their issues because most of the artistes are just after that "quick Benz"

She should ensure she reads the contract terms very well this time. So she won't owe sterling bank 40M again!

Did you read my post? I said they take it off their checks. But isnt there provision for them? Govts don't run freely all over the world. They provide effective services(why i dont support free education in modern macro and micro economic systems) you pay for it. Some ppl use prepaid Meter here and they pay for it. If you dont recharge your Meter as a prepaid user, u have no light. It is as simple as that. Thats why i made mention of autos.

If Govt provides what we need for us, we will pay for it either in pains or gains. But the bottom point is that; there's no provision. It is only when we have enough provision leading to Auto piloting of our system, then we can never have proper taxation payment systems from Tunde the banker to Alhaja the pos operator.

That will ease the payment and proper documentation devoid of tax evasions. People evade taxes in Ng-alpha beta comes to mind. This is because the system has alot of lacuna and potholes created purposely by the leaders to give them waivers. A common man will always make use of that advantage too.

I totally disagree with you. The kind of peanut tax we pay in Nigeria, is not the same they pay in UK and US. 82% of Nigerians only pay Value added Tax, which is a fraction. US ,UK, you pay Value added tax, you pay personal income tax, which is where the bulk of their revenue comes from
