There is too much power in Abuja... How long would the military be using force to keep Nigeria together? |

babyfaceafrica:...but you believe him...Osu or not... Do you think it is nice for a leader to publicly state that he will lead and treat his people, based on how he was voted for? Meaning he wanted 100% vote from everywhere...I am not surprised that Nigeria is down as it can go...because of people like you... |
FriendChoice:Is Federal Character Commission in the constitution? What part of the constitution says that a child from Imo state must score minimum of 121 to gain admission to federal school while a child from Zamfara will need just 4? Now,...do you you think those appointments justified the diversity of Nigeria? |
FriendChoice:Have you ever in your entire life heard of Federal Character commission, and quota system. FEC is not the only instance where positions are shared by states...If you most use other criteria other than Federal character, then admission into the federal schools should also be by merit...The north has continued to cheat the south, because of the connivance of the SW people as a block... mrkayusfit:Nigeria are united in your dream...SEE>>> ...Why are major federal government projects in SE done by public private partnership while those of other regions are done all by the federal government. For example, in SW, Lagos third Mainland bridge was constructed and repaired by the federal government, Lagos- Ibadan express road is being handled by the federal government with a N50billion budget, Oyo-Ibadan road is undergoing repairs, in the north, the Ilorin-Jebba road is undergoing repair, as well as Kaduna to Maiduguri road...and other road and bridge projects... In SE, the 2nd Onitsha bridge is being expanded under PPP, and the terrible Enugu-Onitsha roads is being considered to be repaired under PPP with a Chinese firm... Mind you this type of depravity was not corrected under by GEJ either...and also note that these has nothing to do with leaders of SE, as I'm referring the federal projects and not state issues... The questions are: 1. Is SE Nigeria not part of Nigeria? 2. Why do successive goverment treat the SE like a leper colony? 3. Is there a hidden/secret document given to any Nigeria president, not to touch the SE territory? 4. Does the secret document, say that the SE and affected Igbo people from parts of Rivers, Delta, Benue, Cross River will merge and form a new nation, so no need to develop the SE like other regions...Or if the government must assist, the SE people most pay part of the projects? 5. An exception seems to be the Enugu AIA airport built by GEJ and Stella Oduah... but people have seen how GEJ and Stella have become some of the most hated Nigerians...for giving the SE international airport (though work in progress) 6. Would people still accuse the youths of the Nigeria for migrating to other zones or for wanting their own nation state? |
obailala:"Nigeria is a jungle and every tribe has leaders in Abuja scrambling for what they can scratch out for their people.." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Should it be so..should a nation be a jungle? A normal country with conscience should see that all projects in regions are shared appropriately. There should be no need for leaders to be fighting themselves in Aso rock begging the president. I still don't blame SE leaders for this. There is generally, a script being played by Nigeria state against SE region...and it is a shame... |
babyfaceafrica:Name any project in those region that the people have to contribute for its execution? |
tinsel:Have you heard.. the notion..that half bread is better than none? People can now travel abroad without going to other regions...The airport is not the best, but it is better than none. I also noticed that other Nigerians especially the Yorubas are always sad when any project is approved for the SE, Why is this so? |
chimere66:It is painful that the federal government are ding projects in other region but not SE. All federal projects in the SE are places under PPP. The best option would have been to go for autonomy but that may not come easy. But our people say, he who is refused does not refuse himself... We can open a kind of development fund...to develop ala Igbo. If we can get 2 million nwa afo Igbos worldwide, to contribute minimum of N500,000, that will amount to One trillion. 2,000,000 X 500,000= 1,000,000,000,000. An international and local groups would be formed with precise road map to develop the SE zones as follows. 1. Road networks with, tolls crisscrossing all the major cities. 2. Rail network connecting Enugu-Umuahia-Aba-Owerri-Nnewi-Onitsha-Awka-Asaba-Abakaliki-Enugu 3. Power using coal and gas. 4. Agriculture with agro institutes in Abakaliki and Anambra. 5. ICT and communication 6. Manufacturing, tourism, sports, entertainment. 7. Real estate and High rise in the current state capitals. 8. Fund will be allocated to in equal measures and according to sectoral strategic prerequisite...without any state feeling cheated. 9. Industrial cities like Onitsha, Aba and Nnewi will receive special funds to develop their inner city roads... Ndi Igbo this is feasible...The group managing the funds can even go for loans from multilateral institutions. If these can be achieved the SE zone will become a hub of industrial attraction, and will make other Igbo investors to relocate to the east... |
babyfaceafrica:Thanks for your reply. Now mention one project in your region under any form of PPP. Let's start from there... |
babyfaceafrica:Most of you have real comprehension issue...The topic is not about what we have done for the country, but why the central government is not favorable in developing all regions in equal measures. You can open a new trade on what you have done for you country and people will contribute based on that...So far you have nothing state for the reason the fraud Nigerian government is unjust...and at the same time want those maltreated not to cry of marginalization or they invite their soldiers to shoot unarmed protesters... |
rabex123:Misguided? When I have given few examples...This post is open to honest discourse, so show us a bit of the research you have made. So far you are empty and utterly misguided... |
Princesaha:Most plausible... |
[quote author=Luckymay post=4906 I didn't see any Nigerian city there.[/quote]Enugu makes history, joins world’s 100 resilient cities ON DECEMBER 5, 2014 Enugu made history, Wednesday, as the only Nigerian city among 35 cities from across the globe invited to join the 100 Resilient Cities Network (100RC) pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation, New York. The announcement was made during The Rockefeller Foundation’s Urban Resilience Summit in Singapore. The other three African cities that made the list alongside the Coal City of Enugu are Kigali (Rwanda), Accra (Ghana) and Arusha (Tanzania). The Foundation stressed that Enugu like other Network cities will serve as a model for other global cities that seek to build their own resilience. This second wave of cities will join 32 cities that won last year’s 100 Resilient Cities Challenge, forming a growing network of urban centers around the world that are ready to respond to the social, economic and physical shocks and stresses that are a growing part of the 21st century. Other renowned cities of the world invited to join the list in the 2014 edition include Athens, Barcelona, London, Paris, Boston, Chicago, Amman, Sydney and Singapore. 100-Resilient Cites was created by an initial $100 million commitment by the Rockefeller Foundation as part of their Centennial last year, recognizing the trends of urbanization and globalization that characterize this century. Yyeske:You have issue with comprehension..You may wish to read the post again...and see where I stated that even GEJ didn't change the perception...Why would we be happy if this present government want to do something about the Enugu-Onitsha road..? Is SE not part of Nigeria...Must the people of the region do anything special to get the federal government to play its part...? |
Victorvexz:Is NIGERIA ONE..? |
wawaboy1:...as stated...leave the senators and SE leaders on this. Do you know how many times the leaders have visited, the serving presidents to develop SE? For goods to get to the north from Nnewi and Onitsha axis it must pass through the Enugu-Onitsha road..and for goods to get to the Western part if must pas through the Onitsha...don't you see that the projects are strategic..yet the federal government will not do them...I strongly believe a script is acted behind the scene. So far I have not seen any tangible response...to the post.. |
babyfaceafrica:Is this all you can contribute...? or are you dumbstruck? You can do more than this... |
Continuing from the article "Injustice:why Are They No Rail Projects In South East?", I want to seek public opinion, on why major federal government projects in SE are by public private partnership while those of other regions are done all by the federal government. Would people still accuse the youths of the Nigeria for migrating to other zones or for wanting their own nation state? Please no insults...Can we put our minds to these...as what is happening is not coincidence... |
TheGoodJoe:BUHARI’S ECONOMIC POLICIES, HEIGHT OF FOOLISHNESS-FINANCIAL TIMES written by Our Reporter August 19, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe:You sound as if you know anything about economics....Do we have the same scale of issue in 1984...? You seem not to understand that people can't give what they don't have...I bet you even if you trillions in ECA...and you get a uneducated mechanic as the manager...he will deplete the resources...it is simple as that...Even if the past government was that bad...people shouldn't expect immediate impact barely a year later... |
TheGoodJoe:Stop complaining about crude price, Jonathan left you $30b, Obasanjo ... Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to stop using dwindling crude prices for lack of performance. According to Obasanjo, he met worse when he took power in 1999, but made the best of it. He reminded Buhari that unlike his administration that met a paltry $3.7 billion, in the coffers, Goodluck Jonathan left behind a whooping $30 billion. He said “When I assumed office in 1999, I inherited $3.7 billion in reserve, while Buhari met $30 billion, almost 10 times of what I met then, and the price of oil then was $9. When it got to $20, I was dancing. know the price is down now and with time, it will jump up again. What Buhari is doing currently is preparing ground for Nigeria to take advantage when it goes up again.” Mister, even if the nation has $100billion in reserves...Nigeria will still be suffering...the current government is frugal and lack good economic management team... Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said. The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State. http://punchng.com/buhari-not-sound-economy-foreign-affairs-obasanjo/ |
