Reps calls for Buhari’s intervention on Enugu Airport repairsThe House of Representatives has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure the commencement of repair works at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu. The call follows a resolution on a motion sponsored by the House Deputy Minority Leader, Toby Okechukwu (PDP Enugu), at the plenary on Wednesday under Matters of Urgent Public Importance. It was co-sponsored by 13 other members from the South East Caucus. Presenting the motion titled “Need to Ensure Speedy Rehabilitation of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu”, Okechukwu noted that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) closed down the airport on August 24, 2019 for rehabilitation works on the runway. He informed that the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, had visited Enugu and had a meeting with the state governors and stakeholders in the South East, after which he promised that the rehabilitation would be completed by December 2019. The lawmaker lamented that six weeks after closure of the airport, no rehabilitation or reconstruction work has begun as the contractor has not even been mobilised to site.Read more: https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/reps-calls-for-buharis-intervention-on-enugu-airport-repairs.html--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Later, some disgruntled clowns will be asking why Igbos hate Nigeria 2 Likes |

Can any Igbo guy please rescue this bro from his thoughts. Why will a government toll roads if they are good? Based on your warped assumptions, if the road between Enugu and Onitsha are good, will the government need to toll them or construct them?
I think the Igbos have a fundamental problem that you guys need to address. You don't brag with everything, its just project you like someone suffering from paranoia. Having more tolls should be a major concern to you than trying to use it as a bragging right coz it shows you have dilapidated structures around that needs revival. It simply means the public governance is failing and you need private sectors to come in to help.
You need help to understand simple tings tasks. Who is talking abut repairing any roads now. Everybody knows that SE federal roads are the worse in the country, but the UNITARY Nigeria government are so clueless that they can build the tollgates on road leading to hell. But we are saying that we don't need those tolls. |

Maybe that was due to the fact that your earlier statement is devoid of logic. How can someone equate toll gates to economic prosperity?
Let me give you an instance, most toll gates in saner climes are public-private investment, which implies that a private sector contributes some money to fund roads and get it tolled to recuperate the funds spent. In the SE, there are several roads that are an eye sore, so technically there will be need to invest on roads to alleviate the sufferings of citizens especially when the FG fails to implement the construction on their own
Now tell me, how does this relates with economic prosperity or high number of bad roads should now be a bragging right?
Ask yourself if what you said made sense to you. See how it works. Tolls are meant to collect money, revenue from the road users. The government sees that it makes sense to have more tolls in regions where there are money. Simple. It make sense to put 2 or 3 gates in short distance between Enugu and Onitsha, than say Kano to Kaduna. So in essence number of tolls implies economic posterity. Again how many policemen would like to go to Ekiti than Aba? I hope this simple analysis makes sense to you? |

Alleviation pilot, what the bleep is that and how does the tranche in implementation of policies implies the SE do not receive the FG funds?
What are the sources of your claim for toll gates and how does toll gate implies you are developed? Do you even know the meaning of toll gates?
What do you mean by money distribution, we have Lagos and Ogun that contributes to more than 50% of the statistics while the remaining states shared the spoils. Can you give a breakdown of all the states and their spending power in percentage and not just gross them up.
You said IGR makes no difference, but toll gates made a difference. Conversing with you is a brain drain. You lack the capacity and intellect to state your points in a structured manner. Try again...as they are haphazard and made no sense. |
