Romance / Re: Should I End The Relationship Or What Is The Best Approach. by Stivinmesi: 2:52pm On Oct 12, 2023
Don't buy the phone and also end the relationship. If a 31 year old lady in this present generation is yet to get her priorities right then show her the door. Good riddance
Godoverevery:
Am currently in a relationship with a 31yr old lady for about 2 month now.
She want to buy iPhone 12pro max and she doesn't have the total money.
She has being complaining about how her phone (techno phantom) isn't good enough for pictures and videos bla bla bla from the time we met.

In my last relationship I actually helped my ex get iPhone Xsmas, she didn't have the total money aswell and I added about 55k to get it for her which I later regret with every blood in me and now the same scenario is happening again.

I actually advise her to get a lesser iPhone which her money can buy but she is adamant she want iPhone 12promax just to show off to other ladies in her office.

She expecting me to help her get the phone and add the remaining balance.
From my calculations she is about 70k-80k short of the money to get the phone and honestly I don't have a dime to give cos only a foolish idiot will make the same mistake thrice.

She emotionally blackmailing me and I can't take it anymore.......at 31yrs I expect more understanding and more important priorities.

Travel / Re: Seeking Honest Advice: Considering Relocating Abroad - Need Your Thoughts by Stivinmesi: 12:03pm On Jul 27, 2023
Don't travel abroad, it really isn't worth it unless you are a young man.

My counsel , acquire skills on how to trade the Financial market.

I will have learnt it while in Nigeria but I didn't and now I am regretting it.

20 Million isn't huge (that's less than £20,000).

Look for ways to earn in hard currency while living in Nigeria.

The Ways
1. Forex Trading
2. Crypto Trading and Crypto Jobs
3. Remote work (Upwork, Fiver, indeed)
4. Stock and Synthetic trading
5. Affiliate marketing

Once you have established that, you can start investing in Real Estate, Startups (to get shares) etc.

Best of luck

Alejo2000:
Hello fellow Nairalanders,

I find myself at a crucial crossroad in life and would greatly appreciate your valuable insights and diverse perspectives. I have worked diligently in a private organization for 15 years, managing to save up to N20 million. Additionally, I own a 3-bedroom apartment. and a few plots of land in three different states in Nigeria.

Current Situation:
Recently, I was disengaged from my job, and this has prompted me to contemplate a major life decision. I am 45 years old, and my wife is 42 years old. Together, we have three children, two of whom are in secondary school.

Contemplating Relocation:

Given the circumstances, I have been seriously considering the possibility of relocating to another country with my family via study route. Two countries have caught my attention: the UK and Canada. I believe that I still have around 15 years of active career working life by the Grace of God, and I am open to exploring new opportunities abroad for the betterment of my family's future.

Reasoning:
The motivation behind this move is to provide my children with a better education and quality of life while also embracing new experiences. However, I am fully aware that this is not without risks, as it would involve utilizing my lifetime savings and making a fresh start in a foreign land.

Seeking Your Advice
:
I humbly seek your honest advice and opinions on this matter. Here are some key points to consider:

Family considerations: How will relocating impact my children's education and overall well-being?

Age and career transition: Is starting anew in a foreign country feasible, considering my age and accounting background as my profession?

Financial stability: Should I be concerned about using my savings for this move? What steps can I take to ensure financial security in a new country?

Visa and immigration: What are the challenges and best practices in obtaining permanent residency in the UK or Canada?

Job opportunities: How promising is the job market for accountants in these countries? Are there viable prospects for career growth?

Investment options: Alternatively, what investment opportunities in Nigeria can provide a stable income stream for my family?

Conclusion:
I am deeply grateful for any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions you can provide. Your valuable insights will play a significant role in shaping this crucial decision for my family's future.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and respond to my post. Your support means a lot to me and will help me make an informed choice.

Warm regards,

My Sojourn to UK and POE Experience

Yho guys, I am presently in the UK.

I boarded Ethiopian Airline from Abuja. 2 Travelling Bags (23Kg each), one hand luggage (7Kg) , my Laptop Bag.

I wore two sweaters , one Winter Jacket and held the other Jacket just to reduce the scaled KG.

One of my 23Kg bags contained my clothes, shoes and the other 23Kg bag contained food stuffs and drugs (I bought different antibiotics as it is expensive in the UK and other drugs like Vitamin D(because of lack of sunlight), Paracetamol etc).

Ethiopian Airline is cool (5 hours stop over) but I will have loved to follow Egypt Airline (12 hours stop over but hotel accommodation and good food cool.

I choosed to travel weekend because I envisaged a good number will go for that option and so the Immigration Officers won't have the time to ask lots of questions.

Also the immigration officers In Abuja didn't give me headache, one even advised I use POS to deposit the Naira left with me since the old Naira will be out of circulation this year.

Journey started from Abuja to Addis Ababa. We waited for close to 7 hours before boarding the flight to London.

At Hearthrow Airport, my POE went this way:

1. Officer : What's your purpose in the UK
Me : For Study

2. Officer: What is your course of study
Me : I told him and also mentioned the name of my University.

3. Officer : Are you a new student ?
Me : Yes

4. Officer : Place your thumb over there. Then be stamped it.

PS :
1. Keep a smiling face when approaching any official you encounter in the course of your traveling. Also say hello when you approach them.

2. Your major hurdle is to carry those bags to any of the Airports in Nigeria. Once you have boarded, you shouldn't face any major challenge WRT that. There is a Bus station at the Airport and you can carry your luggage using Trolley.

3. There are ATM machines at the airport where you can withdraw pounds with your dollar card.

4. You will enjoy Free WiFi both at Ethiopia Airport and Hearthrow Airport.

5. Make plans for accomodation before leaving so as not to get stranded.

I wish you all luck cool.

The land of UK will favour us.

Yes it is active for MA and it takes approximately 5 working days
Ihategirls:
Please guys, I would like to find out if priority processing is still active or suspended?

A lot of people who paid for it have not gotten their decision in 5 days as stated.

Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by Stivinmesi: 3:55pm On Dec 08, 2022
What Center? There is no need to be scared. It is called Credibility interview. They want to be sure the MA is going for studies. Go to YouTube and watch Credibility interview preparation videos.
rennylaw:
@dduchess90 MA did biometrics on the 28th November and got an email invite from UKVI on the 6th December for a virtual interview. Interview was slated for yesterday 7th December. Interview done. What should we expect after the interview. I meant from experience, how long does it take for UKVI to get back after this? Should there be any cause for concerns because a lot of applicants here did not go through this interview from UKVI before Visa was approved.

Visa type - Standard

Many thanks in anticipation of your response.
