I never dated Regina Daniels’ mum - Larry Zuka

A United States of America-based singer, actor and filmmaker, Larry Azukaego, aka Larry Zuka, has said that contrary to what some people think, he neither dated nor got married to Rita, an actress and mother of Regina Daniels.

Narrating how some people got the misconception, Zuka said, “I featured her on a song. And, the concept for the music video was that we got married. If Regina decides to marry an older man and she is happy about it, does love really care?

“As a matter of fact, that was the reason I wrote that song titled, In Love with You, and featured Rita. It is a story of love. It says that when love ‘hits’ one’s heart, one will fall, irrespective of who one is.”

The entertainer further maintained that though he had known Rita for a long time, they were never intimate. He added, “I have known Rita for many years, even before Regina came into the limelight. We have always just been friends. We never dated. We respect each other; nothing more.”

Speaking about his new single titled, Ziganyi Uzo (Show Us the Way), the Sweet Apple record label boss said, “It is a song for healing. People think it is a gospel song, but it is not. I had to release the song at a time like this to help people, especially those who became disillusioned after the last general elections.  The song is an appeal to the divine creator to give us direction.”

Describing his brand of music as ‘Africa folk rock’, he said, “I tell stories with my songs. I try to reflect what happens around me. I also try to tell stories many people can relate with. However, some people classify it as afrobeat, but I don’t mind.”

Plans have been concluded to hold the grand finale of the 2023 Bossladylaw Business Challenge (BBC 2023), an entrepreneurship and business challenge that allows the best team from special needs school to go home with a whopping N3m and conventional school bags N5m

The project being piloted by a humanitarian and philanthropist, Barr. Orby Venessa Agwuncha is aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship among secondary school students, and will take off from Anambra.

Tagged Bossladylaw Business Challenge, the scheme apart from offering them opportunities to pursue entrepreneurship also awards multi million Naira cash scholarship prizes and education tour outside Nigeria.

There is also provision for community team of four students while a category has been created for people with special needs/physically challenged persons.

Each participating school is expected to come up with one business idea which must include the four business components, which include identification of problem/opportunity, solution or improvement the idea provides, creation of prototype to represent the idea and establishment of target consumer or market.

Schools wishing to take advantage of this opportunity are advised to submit their proposals in PDF format at a date not later than June 15.

Knockout stage for the competition started from June 13.

Teams will be invited to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges using a PowerPoint presentation. Each team will have ten minutes to present their ideas and five minutes for questions and answers with the judges.

The judges will base their rating on the four business components.

The two best teams from the six educational zones in Anambra will advance to the finals, which will be a 3-day entrepreneurship summit and they will have opportunity to showcase their business project to the general public and get their feedback.

The grand finale and award will hold June 30 where the best four teams will have the opportunity to pitch their idea for the last time.

Awards include, top best 3 teams from conventional schools, top best 3 teams from the special needs school, best mentors, best prototype, best online vote and many in-kind Awards from the sponsor, Bossladylaw.

Those who wish their schools to be visited within Anambra are kindly urged to use the organisation's website to request for a visit from Bossladylaw Business Challenge.

It is also entirely free of charge for all Anambra state students.

At the end of the grand finale on June 30, the best team will go home with the sum of N3m while the first runner up will also grab N1m while the third best position will N500k.

Teachers and mentors will also not be left out as the best mentor will get N500k reward.

The grand finale will take place at ASUU Hall, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra state, an event expected to exhibit entrepreneurship in action.

An exclusive list obtained by our correspondent lists popular entertainer and MC Tagwaye known for mimicking the immediate past President, Obinna Simon as the SA Arts and Entertainment, a former presidential aspirant Adamu Garba II as S.A Digital Media and ICT as well as immediate past Minister Babatunde Fashola as SA Works and Housing and more.

President Bola Tinubu had on Tuesday requested for senate approval of 20 new SAs.

Sources disclosed that that the names have been computed only waiting for the president's approval.

MC Tagwaye had taken part in campaigning for APC, using his visible presence on the social media despite insults and attacks.

This is largely predicated on his firm belief and confidence on the personality of Tinubu and his capacity to take Nigeria to greater heights.

During the presidential campaigns, he toured round the 19 northern states with Tinubu's team and also took part in anchoring the campaigns.

APC has since pledged to reward hard work especially those who stood by it when is mattered most.
