jl115: Algeria.... Buys 24 Winglong UAVs...and already operates several dozen other UAVs
Nigeria....buys 2 Winglong.... Nigerians: "we are gaint of Africa of UAVs, nr 1 in world, most sophisticated UAV in universe, biggest fleet of Africa"
P. S when I say Nigerians I mean kabe1 and Stormtrooper11 and to an extent Odunayaw When did we say best in the world? The word mostly used here is, "Best drone platforms in Sub-Saharan Africa". You're just a pained little bloody sucker. Yes, Nigeria is the Giant of Africa. Live with it, lad.

"Yabhon Flash-20s would replace the CH-3 armed UAVs acquired from China. One crashed in January 2015 and the type has apparently been problematic in Nigerian service. They have been armed with AR-1 missiles, and used to strike Boko Haram positions."
https://www.defenceweb.co.za/aerospace/unmanned-aerial-vehicles/nigeria-has-received-emirati-uavs/ How amusing of you. You don't see SAns claiming to be "gaint" of anything especially when we are not Exactly, you don't claim to be giants cos you're not. But we're Giants, in our Kindergartens and all levels of education we're taught that. It's obvious that we're giants and we don't mind rubbing it on your faces. |

Also this isn't the strongest military thread, we've all agreed that what was said on that thread was all in jest!!
FYI I said Leonardo has not confirmed the m346 purchase.... That's what I said, stop crying and simply learn to read This is you saying, "Nigeria is not getting the Jets and Frigates" lol. Typical shifting of goals post.

jl115: so why did your own CAS say they want to replace the Ch3 with flash 20s? The CAS said he wanted us to purchase more UCAVs to bolster our inventory. We aren't SA that is comfortable with sticking to one inoperable UAV since the early 2000s. A CH 3A crashed. We always wanted the Yahbon flash and we purchased it. If the CH-3A were that bad for us, why did we get extras last year? We got made in Nigerian UAVs. At the Airforce Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, we have produced alot of Tsaigumi and we're still testing the Ichoku combat UAV. I know you will say that our locally built combat drone is takin too long to be fully operational but I remember when we started building APCs, when you used to diss Henry240, and Agaugust. You claimed that the project ain't going anywhere but look at us today. Remembered how you talked ill on the recent purchase of the M-346FA. Claiming that we got no deals with the Italians but look at us today. You've always been clouded with insecurity and hate for the Nigerian people. We're all here to appreciate each other militaries but you still have the mentality of the Nairaland Civil War, where we argued endlessly on who had the strongest military in Africa. Stop living in the past. Everyone has moved on but you haven't lol. That's so lame. |

Faithful007: Let's weigh the pros and cons
First of all, Nigeria does not produce any, so military equipment in Nigeria is generally foreign controlled. Either America, EU, Russia or China.
Mixing up a fleet has proven to be ineffective, cost prohibitive and detrimental in the long run. So buying from all countries to cook up soup in your airbases is a foolish option to start with.
America and EU pros Tested equipment battle proven and Reliable Counter terror mutual interest Economic sanction free
Russia pros Reliable as well Good alternative to anti westerners
China pros Cheap equipment little to no control
America cons Legislature and congress control due to democracy Can be pricy due to high labor costs
Russia cons Putin control (A lot you may not know here) Economic sanction prone Less counter terror mutual interest
China cons May not be reliable Little counter terror mutual interest. Seems the Egyptians will need your advice on mixing up a fleet lol. I know you're Pro-American. You believe that Uncle Sam is always right. You believe yall the good guys but I tell you what, Have you ever seen Russia and China interfering in the internal politics of a country uninvited?? E.g. The Syrians invited the Russians, who invited America? These are some of the things people weigh. Look at the terms we was given when trying to purchase the A 29s initially. The Americans didn't want to share deep technical knowledge with us. Does Russia apply all those terms? Look at Pakistan. How the Americans always come to check out the F16s. Did China give Pakistan those terms and conditions for the J10? Look, the Americans don't see us as equal partners especially us in the developing world. They see us as "kids". When you say Russian equipment are economic sanction prone, I hope you meant prone to American sanctions cos Putin isn't the one known to sanction people and will you like to explain what you meant by Putin being controlling? You're a funny dude for saying American equipment is economic sanctions free. You're literally saying "Buy American equipment or get sanctioned by us for not buying ours". Even when you buy, they sanction your country if the politics in your country is not going in their favour. |

kabe1: I don't think it's this Russian war that spoilt stuff. Although this war has put a nail on Russia's coffin and slammed it shut with regards to military procurement.
If you remember correctly, Nigeria has been chasing the Super Tucano since the administration of former President Yar'Adua.
Including attempts by President GEJ to purchase American helicopters from Israel.
It's been a long time coming. Really Nigerian pilots want to fly American. Exactly. Nigeria has always been interested in the F 16 too. We might just be flying those birds in half a decade. It's probable but I hope not. I want atleast the Chinese J-10C. The Americans might have the "best" equipment but the worst Terms and conditions for developing countries. We can't risk making our entire airforce Americanised . Just a slight going against their will and our entire airforce would be grounded. |

What you are showing me here is AH-1z viper which is old and outdated. It is slow and can carry not more that 4 missiles. That is is not any where in the first 100 best attack helicopters.
It is also not anywhere near its successor AH-1z apache.
Abeg e be like say nigerian govt pay you to lie for us You're a bloody Bastard. Bye. Thought you were updated in modern warfare. Don't you have Google?? If you have anything against Buhari, go and meet him. We got a modern chopper here used by the American marines but you still complaining with your bloody dumb fuckin mouth.
