Thank you my brothers Udezue and Ikeyman00. Leave that Guy Alone. His only concern is that most development in Delta is happening in Anioma region and that the southern Deltans will loose everything If Anioma is created as he has already attested here. But the fact is that any development in any part of Delta will eventually benefit everyone whether they are from the north or south. And the propaganda of whether Aniomas are igbos or not worked in the past but not anymore. Aniomas want to unite with thier brothers and trust me sapale, they will want to be part of the southeast not south south, otherwise, they will not be agitating to leave. The President of Ohaneze is an Anioma and that process has already began. IGBOS are IGBOS, so drop that propaganda because it is not working. Whether they mixed with Edo or whatever does not make them Any lesser of an Igboman. Your Analogy with Zik, one of the most revered Igboman is the lamest Argument i've heard in my life. Br careful before you turn into Becomrrich. Get a life and let people who don't want of be part of you and people you have been persecuting for so long to leave. Na by force??, Meeeen We are all brothers in the end i guess, but not in this one, |
Rail system in Nigeria is good and will benefit everyone. But the point is that projects are executed in Nigeria based on tribal interests without considering facts on the ground. That rail should have been Lagos-Benin-Onitsha-Enugu-Abakaliki rail Not lagos kano because those roads are the busiest in west Africa. The people commuting back and forth to Lagos from these places could have easily financed this project, reduce armrobbery and road congestion, increase business efficiency and open up places. Now, somebody will say i only want this to benefit the south but it is not true. iT IS BASEDON WHAT MAKES sense. The amount of people travelling from LAgos to Kano is less than 1/3 the amount of people that tavel and do business betweem Abakaliki-Enugu-onitsha -LAgos on a daily basis. This should have been put into consideration before embarking on such a gianomous project. My fear is that if this one fails(hopefully it never will), it will affect the people that actually need this rail. We should embark on projects that makes sense economically and that will produce tangible results without infusing regional politics in it. They are constructing and budgetting this rail line, but the Niger Brigde is on the verge of collapse and nothing has been done to build a new modern one which will cost less than 1/10 what this rail system will cost. Mind you, Niger bridge is one of the busiest BridgeS in Africa, so you be the judge. If NIGer Bridge WAS contructed and a toll is collected in that bridge, i guarantee you that this will be a better investment for the federal government thaN the Expensive stadium that was bult in Abuja which we seldom use but costed more than building a new bridge. I am not against the Stadium because i like it and it makeS Nigeria looK better, but before we use huge amounts on federal resources, we should think of projects that yield dividends to the people in the long run. |
nuzo:I agree. When it is time for other zones to benefit, everything is great and justified, but when it comes the time for southeast to benefit, everyone remembers how educated we are and why the extra state will not benefit nigeria, and why it is not necessary for more Bureacracy. Let us get back to full fedralism with great Autonomy. That will be the best solution, but until everyone wakes up at the same time which when judging from Nigeria/African time could be decades, let us make the zones equal by creating Another state in the southeast. Or if we really want to show how serious we are, let merge states from other zones, decrease their councils, everyone gets 5 states like the southeast and nobody will complain. If you do this, then you'll know which people are the real hipocrites because no zone will ever allow that to happen. |
To Sage and davidif, I could'nt agree with you more that what we need is a zonal system. I will actually go as far as rezoning nigeria the way it used to be before the war and before GOwon tried to use divide and rule to win. But, you see, we may never return to zones or those days ever because the North are scared of another war, scared of the zones having too much autonomy and they are scared that their yearly handouts will be diminished if Autonomy is given to the zones to control their resources. So they will and have done everything never to return to those days. Yes, it is the best for Nigeria, but until we get to that point when everybody agrees, lets make what we have for now equal. Whenever it is time for the southeast to benefit, everyone cries about Bereaucracy and give flimsy reasons why things should not happen. But if it is the turn of others, everything becomes right and justified. No, let us creat the New state first, then when we are ready for the Zones, we can wipe out all those borders and start afresh. |
Becomrrich:You are a slowpoke Bicomrrich. This just tells me and everyone here that this Map stuff of yours is a big Hoax and useless proganda. Asaba only, excluding all the other well populated Anioma territories have about 130, 000 people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asaba,_Nigeria. Mind you, this is from Nigerian Census which has no credibility and is a gross undersestimation of the people there. The population of Anioma people excluding other non included areas and territories is about 1.2 million people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Ibo. Also, this is an undestimation since the nigeria government is been known to undercount IGBOS. The International community estimated Anambra to be >7 million people but Nigeria counted them as 4million, so you be the judge, The population of Anioma rivals some Northern States knowing that in reality, they are more people there. If the borders are drawn well and right, Anioma could end up being the largest state in the southeast. Google Anioma and you'll undertand how them and their igbo brothers desperately want them to have thier own state. Ndigbos solidarity is behind Anioma. So stop your stupidity, man up and face the reality and facts. |
asha 80:How does it contribute to the Ideas or Argument for or against the creation of Anioma or any other state in the southeastern Nigeria? Whether i am Anioma or not does not make a difference. it is just an opinion. |
Becomrrich:I don't have anything to tell you because arguing with you with your screwed mentality is like Planting a seed on a stone. I have nothing to gain. It only makes sense from the point of the Igbos that Anioma be created and trust me, i'll be the one to bring the news to you. Maybe, you can destroy that computer that give you all those fake google maps you post here. And your percentages are stupid and those percentages tell me how out of touch you are with the goins-on in Nigeria. You should come back home and hangout with your babalawo friends before making suggestions to Ndigbo. Anioma will and must be created either now or later. It is already a certainty. Its just a matter of Time. |
SapeleGuy:I'M Sorry Sapele, you should have known better. Anioma will definitely leave Delta, if not now, later. They are agitating and IGBOS wanna unit there people west of the niger and though they have benefited, how many governors from delta have been Aniomas? The Massive investment in Asaba i'm sorry will benefit everyone including southern Deltans but it will not be in there Jurisdiction. Just last year, a group of people critized IGBOS in Asaba and delta and said only the true deltans(Itsekiri, Ijaw etc) should be allowed to rule delta. That is not equity. A people should not become a Minority in their Home. Yeah i know south south has been good for Northern Delta but even if Anioma is created, they will still be part of the Niger Delta and access the funding needed to build their state the way they want it. |
Becomrrich:Listen Becomrrich, the only reason why you talk about Njaba and Oyigbo(I've never heard of it and i'm sure you probabaly made it up) is because of your ill defined and concieved fantacy of your Bendel Benin map ceding those Areas to Benin Replublic. It will never happen, don't you get it. We should be concerned about what has a chance to become real and actual. Igbos will be fouls to carve out another state from the present Lands in the Southeast. You are correct, they need lands and that is why we have to consolidate and unite with our people west of the Niger. Anioma incoporates not only the Asaba area but parts of northern Edo, southern Kogi, southern Delta and parts of Northern Bayelsa and Rivers. That is enough land and considering everything, it is way bigger than the state of lagos. So stop living in your fantacy world and be real. As you can see, the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo is from Anioma and that should tell you that they are on the right path to this dream. If you don't like it, jump into Ogun River and Meet with your OBJ ancestors. |
PapaBrowne:No, those guys in the North are poor because they choose to. They have been given the opportunity to grow and develop their lands through micro governments and state allocations even in the face of very low populations compared to others. They don't go to school, they turn into beggars when they turn 30, sell only gworo when they graduate from secondary school and marry 10 wives with no means of providing for them. These wounds are self inflicted. Creation of extra state in the greater southeast area ( North Delta, North Rivers, and N Baylesa)will not lead to polarization because people there are more informed, educated and united than you think or that is portrayed. The point is that, they should be given that chance first before concluding that they will end up like their Norhtern counter parts. These are 2 different people in 2 different regions with different cultures and approach to life so you cannot expect to see the same results, |
Why is it still taking the civilian government of Nigeria to create another state in the southeast to bring it to par with other states.? Why are there delibrate efforts by the Nigerian Government to Marginalize?. I love Nigeria and want nigeria to be strong and together but their must be equity. The Hausas and Yorubas are to be blamed for this inequality because the Yurubas (OBJ) was in power for 8 yrs and did nothing to fix this. The current Yaradua is not doing anything in any section of the country to move the people forward and is basically a lame duck. When will nigeria ever grow and when will we ever keep aside tribal politics to fix Nigeria.? Just look at those numbers and you be the Judge. SOUTH EAST 95 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS SOUTH WEST 137 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS SOUTH SOUTH 122 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS NORTH WEST 186 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS NORTH WEST 112 LOCAL GOVERNMENT NORTH CENTRAL 121 LOCAL GOVERNMENT. |
Imnakoya:You Must be out of your mind to say that igbos do not have oil. Most of the oil producing areas in Nigeria of today were in igboland and those lands were inhabited by the igbos until the war. Post Biafra war, the british together with the Rogue Nigeria government pushed back igbos, seceded all their lands to other monority groups, and made some others deny thier igboness so they can divide and rule. iT apparently worked but igbos are Uniting slowly. There are tons of oil in Imo, Abia, Anambra and Delta, so igbos do have plenty of oil. Remember that igbos have a strong majority in River state and own Portharcout as you can tell from all the elections and their governors from Rivers Stat. So Igbos have oil. Before you make stupid comments, go read history. Secondly, We are not IBOS you slowpoke, , we are IGBOS AKA NDIGBO. If you have problem with that, jump into river Niger. Third, Igbos do not need oil to survive. We have the human resources and brains to be creative, innovative and produce things of our own. iGBOLAND was thriving well before the war and Biafra. So we have what it takes to survive. We control trade in Nigeria, we very educated, motivated and ready to develop but other Nigerians especially the politicians and the illetrate Abokis from the north are pulling everyone back. Even in the face of all the draconian policies, we are still on top and that should only tell you the people you are dealing with. Federalism is the way to go. In that way, the lazy Alahajis can develop thier states and stop waiting for handouts coming from the south. If we have true federalism with good equity and leadership, nobody will think of seceding from Nigeria. I believe that together, we are stronger. But as long as their is Marginalization, the Country called Nigeria will never see peace and it will eventually lead to its disintegration at some point. |
Becomrrich:It will not be unfair to creat Anioma state from delta. I think Anioma state should not only be from northern Delta but should include Igbo speaking communities parts of Northern Rivers and Bayelsa. In that way, the population problem can be mitigated. And trust me, when such a state is created, there will bE massive migration into that state that the population problem problem you talk about will be a tertiary problem. And nobody should argue against Anioma State crossing River Niger to include Parts of Rivers and Bayelsa because we have never had a problem with Kogi having both River Niger and Benue in its territory. But i completely forgot your name was Bicomrrich and you are hard to convince and have scores to settle with Nigeria over your benin bendel theory, so you'll never be convinced. Maybe you can use your google maps to make another point. |
The Yorubas and Hausa Envy the capacity and the ability of the Igboman. They know within thier heart that these people represent what they can never be and they do like igbos for who they are but hate them because of Envy. If they feel that igbos don't like the country and are not moving the country forward, they would have allowed Biafra to exist. But because they know that without the people called Biafra, nigeria will not exist or even if it did exist it will turn into terrorist safe heavens like Somalia or Afghcanistan. The Abilities, and resources of the igboman is the backbone of nigeria and thats why they will do everything to keep igbos in the country. I believe in one nigeria because i think together we are greater. The person that started this thread has shown his lack of enlightenment and paucity of knowledge why igbos still agitate to leave Nigeria. If their is equity in polity, lack of marginaization in federal distribution, lack of draconian policies against the igbos by the government, do you think igbos will be thinking of secession and do you think that groups like MASSOB AND MEND will arise with the backing of the people. People agitate for secession when they feel persecuted and marginalized by their government and that is what is wrong in Nigeria. What we need in Nigeria is a strong De-tribalized nationalist who understands Nigeria and is willing to take the necessary steps to begin the healing process and fix the wounds of the past and present. |
youngies:Youngies, you are probably soo young, inexperienced with underdeveloped brains and that not explains your avatar but your comment. This Difference between me and Bicomrrich is that i actually believe in one Nigeria and i am a proud IGBO man who knows the worth and abilities of my people as opposed to people who fantasize and want to split the country using internet propaganda and google maps instead of reading and understanding about Nigeria and contributing to its development in the 21st century. The Difference between me and you is that you are tribal fanatic that cannot support your arguments with facts and who deny the realities in our political system. I don't know your thinking because you may not have one or perhaps lack the capacity to generate one but if you are truthful to yourself, you should find creative ways to refute and rebut arguments or suggestions instead resorting to name calling. People like you are the reason why nigeria still crawls. So before you address my post, you should clear your head of the poison your parents and people have fed you before resorting to unwarranted name calling. Stupid slowpoke. |
Privatization is the way to go. Allowing individual states to generate thier own power will solve our power problem and Yaradua know this. But the probLem is that the Aboki Leaders will never allow that to happen in thier watch because they no the northern states cannot generate anything. They are parasites and always waiting for handouts. The north will be out of electricity if individual states are allowed to generate thier own power. In nigeria, any power that is generated goes to the national grid before it goes to the states b/f it is then re-distributed. So if lagos generates power themselves, it must share with Zamfara and Bornu the power it generates because these states have no means of generating anything. This idea was coined post biafra war to avoid some groups from getting too strong because the oji river power station powered Biafran states independent of Nigeria during the war until it was bombed by Nigeria and their British Counterparts. Till today, that power station is still rotting. But the point is that this policy is now affecting everyone. Lagos, Port Harcout, Enugu,Anambra and other states can easily contract with investors to generate thier own power but the power will first feed the national greed and then be used to power Abuja and the politicians before getting back to the people and the other parasites in the North that has nothing to contribute. So the whole process is frustrating and the north does not want other southern states to get too ahead of them since they are already 1 generation behind in a lot of things. Yaradua knows what to do, but tribalism wil never allow nigeria to grow. We should put the interest of the people first and Nigeria should encourage competition. If the states compete, we will have anough power such that the extra will still be enough to power other states that cannot generate power. But Because our leaders are brain dead, bock heads, tribalist and resistant to change and vision, nigeria will continue to crawl in the 21st century, |
Dis Guy: |
Theres is no tribalism when people seek and ask for what they deserve and what they can actually do to make people and Nigerians Better. The North have tried and is still trying for over 30yrs with no results. OBJ did the best he could but could have done more and better, but i give him credit more than any other Northern Leader who has ever led Nigeria. Infact, i woud take him back in a blink to replace Yaradua if i can bc he did some tangibe things for Nigeria. Yaradua is still there staging hearing for 2years and firing people who are qualified for their job because of Tribalism. Shameless slowpoke, How could this guy knowing how sick he is, become the president of over 150million people?. This is Selfishness at its worst because he cannot get anything done. If he ever wins in the Next election, the world will lose respect for Nigeria Forever, |
We have spent a lot of time debating why nigeria cannot afford an Igbo president in this forum, thanks to some jerk called billymuse. That thread revealed the hatred and tribalistic sentiment that still flows in the Veins of Nigerians. But the debate should not be about tribe but ability. So the question is: Why should Nigeria have or Afford an igbo President. 1) IGBOS have shown tremendous Excellence in thier Leadership ability and Reforms.E.g Ikonjo-Iweala, Soludo, Ezekwesili, Zik, 2) IGBOS know how to grow and expand from the little they have. Look at Igbos after the civil war when they were all handed 20 and were the poorest in Nigeria and now and you can understand why they call themselves Ndigbo. Likewise, they can utilize the things nigeria have to make Nigeria the greatest. 3) IGBOS are motivated and will strive to achieve the best. This what we need in Nigeria. We need leaders who are ready to take nigeria into the 21st Century with Drive and ambition. 4) IGBOS are the most de-tribalized. this is evidenced by thier ability to live amongst muslims, hausas, yorubas and all other tribes in nigeria in Peace. They welcome others easily and are ready to develop whereever they are even if not in Igboland. That is what a true Nigerian should be. 5) IGBOS have not had power since the War. But since then, Nigeria has had oil boom, leadership from Hausa and Yoruba but with only subtle development and Advancement of Nigeria in a whole. If others have tried and have not produced any meaningful results, it is time to allow people aho have a history of excellence the chance to do what they are best in Doing. The underdevelopment of Nigeria today can never be blamed on the Igbos because they have never had a chance to develop it. Nigeria may never attain its potential until it elects a True Nationalistic iGBOMAN. 6) IGBOS are intrinsically Intelligent. With this quality, comes wise and smart decisions that will elevate the whole country because such a president will surround himself with eqaully smart people regardless of tribe. 7) IGBOS are natural Democrats. This is evidenced by thier traditions and history. The colonial masters had difficulty in penetrating Igboland because of their Ancient democracy-the Umunna's. Everybody gets to have a say in an igbo kindred and igbos have no king they revear. This will help the presidencys as no one will will pander to any leader or king to make decisions for the Nations. I have more but i want to give others a chance to give thier own reasons. This thread is meant for healthy discussion and not for Tribal bashing. |
Beconrrich or whatever your name is, What the hell is wrong with you?? I thought you said you are an Engineer but from all indications, your thinking ability and comments make you sound like a person who barely finished secondary school. Any thread that written here, you try to infuse this nonsense that only you and your empty brains think and fantasize about. You should be ashamed of yourself as you constantly reveal the low IQ person you are. This forum is meant for healthy dicussion of Nigerian Issues not tribal pandering and division like you always bring up. How on earth will getting the yorubas, bendel and bayelsa out of nigeria improve Yaraduas health.? You told ijaw man to pray for him instead of bashing him, but you are here bringing up empty theories on how he could get well. You obviousy have no knowledge of Medical physiology. I thought you were smart but you disgust me. I think you should go ask google to employ you for minimum wage since all your time is spent salivating on a failed propaganda. I pray for your children because they will grow up confused, with the worst identity crises ever because their father cannot get over his sickness and empty fantasies. |
All of you are right on the money on this issue. Besides, non of those presidents are sick and a lame duck. Non of them will leave thier c\ountry for weeks in prestest that he is praying to Allah whereas he is recieving a kidney. Non of them still continues to travel to other countries every other month to get medical help while paralying the whole country. This idiot did not even handover power to his vice and left the whole counry in a stand still, a state of confusion and wonder. If we had a real democracy, this fool will have been impeaced a long time. He should lament on the poverty of nigerians, the killings of people in the north and niger delta, the diseases and poor education of northern children, the lack of accountabity in the country he presides and all the stupid and ill defined decisions he has made throughout his tenure. I have lost total respect for this Animal, |
This is Idiocracy when you look at this in a critical sense. I am not against construction of all these highways are they make nigeria better and travel safe. But not to everyones suprise, the busiest highways in Nigeria and west Africa(Enugu-onitsha- Lagos Highway) is still in shambles and not dualized yet and with the highest accident rate in the country have not been worked-on for decades and these guys are commissioning other stupid project in the country. The Niger Bridge is on the Verge of collaspe but these idiots have money to spend on Multimillion dollar stadiums and houses. Nigeria's Priority is a mess and all these have tribalism written all over it. Even Enugu-porharcout highway, Onitsah Owerri High Highway, all which are the top busiest highways in the country are stil in a state of Neglect. Our leaders are just ignorant fools who put tribalistic interest over real issues. When the governors in these states tried to work on those federal highways using state money because it was paralysing business, the federal government opposed it but at the same time will not allocate money for it. What a shame on Nigerian leadership. These are the reasons why groups like MASSOB emerge with the backing of the people as the people can see injustice perpetrated in their eyes. I just hope those governors ignore the Feds and continue working on those important roads needed for the whole economy of nigeria not just the southeast. |
OgidiBoy:There are more Igbos in Asaba than any other tribe. The people that claim not to be igbo are those from other minority tribes who happen to live in Asaba. Any person who does not want to be igbo should go to hell or jump into river Niger. if that state is created and zoned to the southeast, there will be mass migration of igbos from other states in the south east into Anioma both for residence and for investments such that the voices of those who do not want to belong will go silent in a minute. |
This re-branding stuff is a total waste of time and money. They should use that money to go build hospitals or roads in those parts of nigeria that need it. Nigeria will automatically be self rebranded if people see true leadership by the President and the federal government, if the world knows we are sincerely and truly fighting currupt officials and putting them in jail like other citizens, if we grow our economy and stop waiting for handouts, if we stop the tribal killings and incitations of mass murder by religious extremist, if we have freedom of press and speech and if we stretch out the hands of peace and cooperation to other tribes and build a lasting peace accord with the Niger Delta. If we don;t change some of these fundamental things, we are just wasting our time. OBJ tried this in the past and it failed and the peoples money was spent with impunity. This current rebranding scheme as failure written all over it. To start re-branding Nigeria, our sick lame duck president must stepdown before the world takes us seriously. |
**osisi: afam4eva:Where is Njaba state going to be created from and who will seed their unavailable land in the southeast to form Njaba state.? No body in the current or future Njaba area is currently struggling with other tribes or persecuted. Anioma state should come first and zoned to the southeast but still remain in the Niger Delta commission so they can recieve needed funds to develop their state. Also, delta can serve as a strong alternative and suburb for igbos and people living in onitsha and Anambra as land masses are vanishing fast from there because of the growing population. Other states can come later especially when somebody with real senses becomes president; somebody who understands how all the igbo land was ceeded to other states post biafra war. |
Aloy.Emeka:Hey Brother, i agree with you that we need to go back to regions because it will reduce bureacracy and will never stop the fighting. But we both know that some forces especially those from the north will rather die than see that happen especially since they are currently in power. But until we have such an opportunity when everyone will agree on regional creation, we have to work with what we have. Igbos and the southeast have the least number of representation in the house and the Senate because of 5 states. That implies little influence and say on decisions being made in Aso Rock. With an additional state allocation, comes more local government councils, more Federal allocations, more representation and more power to be influencial in the Polity just like all other regions. It is just a matter of equity for now. Until when we can go back to the regions, lets get equal with others first. |
There are ongoing debates on where the next state from the southeast should be created. So many have been thrown out there like Nsukka, Orlu, Anioma, Njaba etc. I'll personally will go with Anioma as they deserve it more than others and in that way, we'll stop having these debates of Igbos vs Delta Igbos. Also, because igbos are a strong minority in Delta state and almost own Asaba, and often times, igbos have not had a good say and representation in Delta state and are sometimes persecuted by the other groups, it will be wise to creat Anioma out of Delta and Make Asaba its Capital. Anioma should also Include parts of northern Bayelsa and Rivers. Delta can shift its capital to Warri or Sapele both which are great cities and have the infrastructure for a model capital of a state. Thats my 2cents though i know opinions may differ. |
Good for Yorubas and Great for Nigeria, Way to go guys. We need to hear things like these in Nigeria. Hope they set up checks and balances so that the funds can get to the right people. |
Becomrrich, You are really a very sick man. You seriously need to go get psychological and mental help and perhaps Rehab. |
