Politics / Re: A Question For Igbos Looking For Biafra by Strength10: 2:21am On Jul 05, 2009
IGBOLAND is not landlocked. Go read your history and goegraphy. What we have now are imposed borders. You also forgot we have a river called river Niger which passes through/along the borders of Igboland(assuming that is the casE). Believe it or not, If Biafra is created, ALL southern states, some western and midwestern states will join them in a heart beat because they all know that the success of igbo people, the vision, hard work, international connections, business and technological mindset and 21st century thinking will turn Biafra into a westernized society in less a generation. People in Nigeria are not fools. Those tribes will not broadcast their love for Biafra now because they fear retribution, and retaliation from others. But as soon as they see the dream coming true true or is at hand, you will be suprised how fast they will deny the name Nigeria and divorce with the Muslim North.
Politics / Re: NYSC: Now Your Suffering Commences Or National Youth Service Corps by Strength10: 3:14am On Jun 20, 2009
NYSC should not be scrapped but restructured and amended in a way that benefits the students. First, they should not be posting students to where they will be exposed or cut up with ethnic and religious violence that they had nothing to do with. Secondly, they should have classes/lecture and training where students are thought leadership skills, Professionalism in work place, civility, entrepreneurship, tolerance, job opportunities and independence. If this program is utilized properly, it would serve Nigerian youths well as it will give them the tools to face the next chapter of their life. But as long as we have stupid leaders who do not even know or understand the importance of our youth, and education, it will be tough to amend. We should continue NYSC now not for military purposes because we are no more fighting the Civil war, but should continue it to take our youths into the 21st century well equipped with the basics they need to survive.

Let them shiver and react like babies. Insecurity is a curse to any tribe or group of people and such inferiority complex will continue keeping them down in their endeavors. Well, i guess "The Fear of an IGBOMAN is the beggining of Wisdom". wink
Politics / Re: The Great I-G-B-O Acronym: by Strength10: 5:15pm On Jun 05, 2009
I am a defender of one Nigeria. That does not mean i am not a defender of NDIGBO. NDIGBO is a great part of Nigeria, so any good that come from them is reflected on all Nigerians too. I  don't know how having a good acronym for your tribe makes you hostile to other tribes. You people just make me sick, with your crude mentality.
Politics / Re: The Great I-G-B-O Acronym: by Strength10: 5:06pm On Jun 05, 2009
yicob:

And what happens to other non ndigbo tribes ?

What do you mean what happens to other non Ndigbo tribes?? Are IGBOS here to police them, represent or give them thier own acronyms?. They should go find whatever suites them. If they are not smart enough to have a great acronym for themselves, then thats thier own cup of tea, !!
Politics / The Great I-G-B-O Acronym: by Strength10: 4:34am On Jun 05, 2009
A good friend of mine who is a Medical Doctor told me this and i think it is a great acronym that represents NDIGBO.

  I=Intelligence, G=Greatness, B=Beauty, O=Optimism

God bless NDIGBO, !!!!

Politics / Re: The Map Of Biafra by Strength10: 3:40am On Jun 04, 2009
As long as Nigeria remians unstable, people remain in poverty and they propagate marginalization against former Biafrans, Biafra will still be well and alive. And with all that is going on with Yaradua, his lame duck presidency, Niger Delta crises and the new interest of the west in the goings-on in the former Biafra states, region and people, this movement is actually getting stronger by the day. The only way to stop this is good governance, poverty alleviation and equity in all things Nigeria.

But who knows if those Drugs were implanted in her bag or belongings by some professional drug traffica who will later demand them back after she has succesfully passes security as she alluded. This is a very touching issue, because if she is innocent, it is very bad. If she is guilty, she should pay for her actions but definitely not by death penalty.
Politics / Re: Anambra's Igbo Language Bill by Strength10: 3:19am On Jun 04, 2009
It is very surprising(literally) how anything and everything IGBO generates so much attention and discussion; and sends chivers and thrills into the bone and blood of other Nigerians. This is a sign of profound importance conferred to NDIGBO and the IGBO culture. Boy, I love being an IGBOMAN smiley
Guys, Leave the great state of Anambra people alone. Let them teach their kids their mother tongue and whatever they see fit, and lets please move-on from this topic/conversation.
Politics / Re: Fashola Insists On State Police • Wants Special Status For Lagos by Strength10: 1:02am On Jun 02, 2009
We should practice true federalism. The police should be controlled by the states and the Military by the FG. The North and other Nigerian tribes are still scared of the IGBO and Biafra in general and that is why the state police is still in the federal Hands. It is not working. People are dying everyday in Nigeria because of lack of security. Internationbal investors and Nigerians in Diaspora are scared of coming home because nigeria is not safe. Fashola is a better person than Yaradonothing and i beileve he has better vision and understanding of leadership than that slowpoke in aso rock, so i agree with him.We should wake up.

All this government have been doing in the last two years is revoking contracts, perfoming useless and meaningless hearings with no results. No sane investor will want to have anything to do with nigeria, its privatization moves or anything that invloves this lame duck president. How many new companies have come into Nigeria since Yaradogworo came into office?. Nigeria is on the verge of disintergration since everybody Nigeria incluing the international community is getting agitated, complaining and the people cannot see their dividends of democracy.

$osisi:

I don't agree
The Igbo kids should learn how to read and write Igbo whether they or their parents like it or not.
I learnt to read and write Igbo in Elementary school from first grade.
It ought to be compulsory in all Igbo states like it was in the 70's and 80's

Atleast, there is somebody here who understands and could relate to where my argument is coming from. They should learn it in school whether their A-hole, low self-esteem parents want it or not. I have castigated my aunts who live in PH for this. Non of their kids can speak IGBO but they speak English fluently almost like the Europeans and for some reason they take pride in it. It is a shame.!!
Politics / Re: Anambra's Igbo Language Bill by Strength10: 6:52pm On Jun 01, 2009
I agree, the bill should be for only NDIGBO in Anambra. other ethnic groups can learn at their volition.
Politics / Re: Anambra's Igbo Language Bill by Strength10: 6:48pm On Jun 01, 2009
Like the poster said it will be mandated. They should go further in making people take oral standardised IGBO test and enforce that before anyone graduates from Secondary school and University in igboland, they will have to pass both a written and oral test before a degree can be conferred. If you make something mandatory with severe consequences, people listen and wake up to reality immediately because the fear of the unkown or potential repercussion becomes their drive to more interest and enthusiasm. like i said, the bill is not enough, enforcing it is the key, but it is a first step in the right direction
Politics / Re: Anambra's Igbo Language Bill by Strength10: 6:37pm On Jun 01, 2009
This is a good first step in the right direction and has been long overdue. This bill will not solve the probelm immediately but brings awareness, practicality and attention to this because it is very important. Hopefully, somebody can implement this wisely. Kudos to those who suppport this idea because we are loosing our rich culture not only in Igboland and Nigeria but in Africa  as a whole. We should be proud of who we are and our rich Heritage and should never allow others to define us or strip us of that which has been given and passed to us by our fathers.

Yes, we are an independent country, but when other strong countries start taking notice and supporting such ideas and divisons, it feeds the opposition and secessionist and give them a voice they never had. Look at what happened between Serbia and Kosovo recently and you'll understand how significant the support of other countries can lead to disintegration.

Hey Men, why i am posting this is that some people like me who used to believe in one Nigeria are now getting skeptical about the progress and survival of the entity called nigeria. This is a growing trend and some of my friends and others who believed we should be together are now calling for our division. Even some western countries are thinking the same. If this trend continues, and this is not resolved amicably and in such a way that we can exist together while being seperate and autonomus, you are looking at another bloody civil war down the line.
Politics / Nigeria Should Be Divided by Strength10: 4:47am On Jun 01, 2009
I have always believed in one Nigeria( and i am IGBO) because i thought if we harnessed our human and natural resources in all regions, Nigeria will come out a better country. But the way things are going in the country, especially since YaradoNothing came into office, the Mentality and culture of some Northerners, the inefficiency of our system engulfed with tribal sentiments, i am begining to think that the entity called Nigeria is not working and may not work for long unless some drastic national unification efforts are taken. Nigeria should go back to its original autonomous regional governments; the way it used to be before the civil war and if we can't work that way, THEN the west, Biafra and North(Northeast and West or whatever they want) should go their seperate ways and go develop the lives of their people. We shoud be doing better than we are doing now but it is like Nigeria has regressed and continues to regress since Yaradua took office. IT is a shame.!!

Becomrrich or BicomMonkey/slowpoke/Mugu, I thought you were educated. You claim to be an Engineer but you think and reason like a person with less than primary school education. You are a big disgrace to all Engineers in the world. They should strip you of that fake degree you got from idumota. Well most traders in Onitsha and perhaps idumota have better brain-cells and reasoning than you. You said you believe in God but you live and thrive in the fantasy of illusion, divsion, tribalism and violence. No wonder IGBOS are taking over every facet of Yorubaland because i'd believe you also have people who reason like you in Yoruba land. Instead of thinking forward, they are not even thinking because they lack basic spatial reasoning.
Politics / Re: Ohanaeze Berates Lagos Over Ban On Eze Ndigbo by Strength10: 2:32am On May 23, 2009
Joining the Lagos council of traditional rulers is a differnt case. The point is that Lagos has no business with the affairs of NDIGBO. This is an Internal affair and they should have been wise enough to avoid it or they should have consulted Ohaneze and other popular IGBO groups before jumping into that decision. It is akin to an outsider telling you bad things about your blood brother, telling you how he betrayed you and how he thinks it is in your best interest to dissociate yourself from him. Initially, you will feel bad and perhaps hate your brother but over time you'll forgive him and will always remember that he is your brother. A brothers Anger never gets to the heart. In the end, they both will unite and they will hate you forever for dividing them in the first even if your reasons were justified at the time.
What i am saying in essence is that when other IGBOS get to understand the possible implication of Fasholas action, he will turn out to be the enemy.
And who told you lagos cannot be an IGBO kingdom. The last time checked, representation of people in a Government is by population. There are over 5million Igbos living in Lagos. IGBOS should get more representation in Lagos administration than they are currently getting. The Lagos governemnt is not doing IGBOS a favor. It is their right based on population and proportional representation.
Botton Line, Lagos government should have stayed out of this issue.
Politics / Re: House Of Reps: 20 Million Niger Delta Citizens Should Be Allowed To Die by Strength10: 4:47pm On May 22, 2009
This should be an eye opener for the Ijaws and other minority groups in the Niger Delta. They Betrayed Biafra, continue to blame IGBOS for taking their Jobs and occupying their land. They fear IGBO domination. An IGBOMAN will compete with you in Business, education, job, commerce but will never kill you or call for a genocide on you because Igbos are Christians and have a heart. People in Niger Delta now know who there real enemies are.The IGBOS come there and help rebuild and make it better, but the Aboki, does not work or contribute anything but at the same time calls for your genocide.
THAT kebbi rep should be suspended immediately if BANKOLE wants to garner anymore respect from people in the Niger Delta. He should be reprimanded immediately unless bANKOLE has a skeleton in his cupboard too. I'll just say that whatEVER JFK is doing, they should never strike any part of IGBOLAND by mistake or any reason because Nigeria will Implode if this happens. Igbos are already monitoring these events, having discussions around the world and ready to unite, attack and defend if this gets out of hand. I've never been a strong proponent of Biafra. I have always believed in One Nigeria. But when acts of genocide are perpetrated to former biafrans coupled with those words coming from that rep from the NORTH, IT strikes a raw nerve.

if the riverine communities are no good i dont think your igbo brothers would be flooding port harcourt in their millions to milk us dry

Because IGBOS own Rivers State and Port-Harcout. If you have problem with that, go become a militant like you block-head brothers, or jump into Bayelsa River.
Politics / Re: Ohanaeze Berates Lagos Over Ban On Eze Ndigbo by Strength10: 7:49am On May 22, 2009
i am not a fan of the EzeNdigbo title because there's really no such thing in IGBOland. But i support the stance of Ohaneze Ndigbo on this. You can answer anything you want in Nigeria as long as you are a Citizen of Nigeria and you do not infringe on the right of anybody. There's nothing like trying to be a king in somebodies land as one of you suggested. That is the dumbest argument i have ever heard on this issue. Having a title does not mean you are ruling anybody or have any Political influence on the Lagos government or the affairs of any government. As Ohaneze stated, it is used as a rallying and unification title for igbos outside IGBOLAND. That you are called EzeNdigbo anywhere does not make you any king in IGBOAND or else- where. IT IS JUST A TITLE. Just like one can call himself the President/chairman of an association.
This case is concerning because it sets a bad precedent. When does such actions and bans stop and who or what will be affected next?. Which tribe or which other association/groups will be affected next?. Everybody has the freedom of association in Nigeria. This decision by Fashola was very dumb. The State of Lagos should have better things to think about than banning titles unless they have an axe to grind or a bad skeleton in their cupboard. They should be worried about homeless citizens in lagos than getting concerned in actions that create division and hatred. Maybe it is their intention to create this division as we now have different factions of IGBOS supporting and opposing this decision. Its a shame.
Like i said, i am not a fan of the EzeNdigbo title but i still do not think the Lagos Government should get involved in personal and tribal matters like this unless it is infringing on the rights or affecting the interest of others in Lagos.

Politics / Re: Ijaws Oppose River Niger Dredging by Strength10: 11:21pm On May 19, 2009
I support a rail going from Lagos to Kano but i still believe that priority should have been given to the most economically viable train line and perhaps the one that will be the most utilized should have been considered first. Lagos-onitsha-Aba-PH should have been the first of these project as the success of this one(which is guaranteed) will have lead to good encouragement and a possible chain reaction in developing other rail projects in the country. The possible success and economic viability of the Lagos-kano rail is still questionable based on the amount of trade and travel that goes through these places. Though i believe that it will eventually lead to development of cities in its path and possibly opening up some of the Northern cities to more trade and development, I'll still agree and maintain that the Lagos-onitsha-Aba- PH line should have been the best and first to be awarded because it just makes common sense from an economic standpoint.
Politics / Re: Abuja’s 10-lane Road Project To Gulp N257bn[$1.7BN] by Strength10: 4:03pm On May 17, 2009
It is high time we Nigerians Lifted our Banner of protest to the idiocy, stupidity and incompetence of our government. What a JOKE. Only in Nigeria. The busiest road in West Africa(Lagos-Onitsah-Enugu road) is begging for basic maintenance and even repair. Most are still single lanes and the accidents in that road remains the highest in Nigeria. And the federal government is talking about using this amount to fix an already good and manageable road in Abuja with its scanty population. We need better educated people in Nigeria to be our leaders.
Politics / Re: Ijaws Oppose River Niger Dredging by Strength10: 3:50pm On May 17, 2009
I don't really know why everyone is arguing about this development thing or lack of it thereof. The point is that Federal money should be used wisely to develop strategic things that well help the country as a whole and also bring both Macro and Micro development to the cities/communities involved. I also feel that some major projects in some small communities actually lead to development and advancement of those communities. Concentrating everything in a small city or state will eventually lead to social and population problems, and perhaps Xenophobia from the host community as millions will migrate into that area for greener pasture. This is how major cities in America Developed. Some companies moved into some locations strategically because of convenience, natural and human resources and because those states at the time knew the economic impact of those projects to the development of their state.
Dredging river Niger and having some kind of port inland helps everybody Nigeria directly or Indirectly. If we start to consider all the minute environmental impact of everything we try to do in Nigeria, we will have to go back to the stone age. And since when did the Nigeria government start having interest in the impact of what it does to its people?? If they really cared, they should start from the destruction they have done in Niger Delta.
Politics / Re: Ijaws Oppose River Niger Dredging by Strength10: 1:49am On May 16, 2009
River Niger should be dredged though i agree that all environmental concerns should be addressed. It is long overdue. The economic impact of this to Nigeria will be enormous not just to the Southeast. Most containers imported in Nigeria end up in the southeast, so it will make perfect sense to have a port there. This will decrease road accidents from heavy trucks, road congestion, arm-rubbery, relieve the congestion in Lagos and increase the economy of both the North and south since onitsha is centrally located in Nigeria.
Everybody is now crying about environmental damage but nobody has stopped the gas flaring or oil spills in the Niger delta because all these big mouths are receiving kickbacks from the oil money. Maybe some feel they have nothing to gain from the Dredging. The pollution and lack of regulation of oil spills and gas in the Delta poses more Danger than Dredging river Niger will ever pose.
