I have read that babies start teething from 3 months
Get her a teething ring, you can put in the fridge to cool a bit, it will ease the discomfort in her gums when she gnaws on the teething ring

As per the sitting matter, I know not but shey dem talk say na from 5 months abi?
5months before they start learning to sit shocked is it not too long? thanks anyway smiley

What did you decide?

Have you found a way round the matter?
I got maternity leave extension for another two months from my boss. By then baby would have grown a bit and I will take her to creche I'm not just convinced with the nanny thing don't know why.

And concerning the house chores, I've arranged with someone that will come tidy up the house like once in two weeks while I do the basic chores smiley

Mamas please my baby always try to stand as if she wants to sit whenever I carry her on my hand. Also, I tried placing her on her belly to observe her neck control she was able to lift her head with her two hands for 30seconds in that position though she is yet to turn on her back to belly ...please does it mean we can start learning how to sit?

Secondly, she drools a lot and always trying to rub her gum with her upper and lower lips the way old people without teeth do cheesy please is this a sign of teething? She will be 3 months in 10 days time I'm not trying to rush her ...sabi mamas abeg make una no jump and pass my questions thanks

Hello ma, how were u able to prevent water from getting to the incision on day 3?
On day 3 the plaster was not yet removed and it was the same day I was discharged. You know that long black wastebin nylon they sell in the market? My hubby tied it around my waist and bathe me. He was the one that scrub me with warm water, sponge and soap and afterwards, I cleaned myself with a dry towel...he removed the plaster immediately and cleaned the site with cotton wool and spirit. smiley
Please it is not for everyone to practice o follow your doctors advice to avoid harmwink

I also go to know that all cs stitches are not same I did my operation in a private hospital and the instruments that was used are very good so I heard sha cos me I no know the difference grin instrument na instrument. Na God get power jare smiley

@tatacherie congratulations mama you remind me of the day I also had my surgery I can so relate to the experience. The difference is the healing process and the bathing thing. I had my bath on day 3 cheesy started doing house chores week 2 etc being active makes you heal faster though I didn't lift anything heavier than my baby...maybe because im not the lazy type sha . Its 2 months and 2weeks now since I had my surgery and I started doing my exercise after a month and 2weeks I'm very OK now recovered fully. I had fibroid surgery with the Cs that is 2 in 1 undecided also had heamatoma they had to puncture the site twice again a week after the surgery in other to drain out the blood...I saw hell...pain was outta this world. The doctor that did the surgery examined the site two weeks ago and he was so surprised at how clean the site was despite all the puncture. Also remember that body differs though...

In all I thank God for the safe delivery of your baby it is always better to listen to our instincts. Congratulations dearie smiley

Mama is doing that for pleasure. That's her own way of contributing in giving you assistance.

If she wont take offence, wake up earlier than she normally does and give him a bath but I'm quite sure she won't like it so just appreciate her efforts.

Ah my MIL will definitely take offense if I try this. cheesy grin

Good morning mamas

Pls want to ask a very funny question....

When does all the long bathing of a newborn end??
MIL usually bathes my LO and massages him every morning and night....

Hes 3months now and she still does that?? Anytime I ask she says as long as she's here and doesn't look like she's going anytime soon...

Pls how long did u guys do all the newborn bathing him for?? When can I bathe him like a normal person biko?
Lol same here o. And she still does the excessive scrubbing as if baby is dirty grin I now bathe mY baby though but she is always on standby whenever I'm bathing the baby she won't just let me be she will still be using one hand to pour water or rubbing baby that makes two people bathing baby. undecided I'm just been patient cos she has few days left. I actually don't know when the hot water massage stops but I don't see myself doing it when she goes. She still rob mentholatum on a navel that is healed too... undecided lol

I hope you have started learning how to bathe baby? Tell her to allow you do it once in a while else, it won't be easy for you to do when she goes. smiley

For her neck, ori and reduced clothing should help.
For spreading leg, about 4months should be OK.
For plaiting hair, puff-puff style is better till scalp is stronger.
For the scalp, keep washing daily especially the bald part and consistently apply ori mixed with coconut oil. With time (about 2weeks), it will grow back. Most babies whose hair were cut finds it difficult to achieve the old better hair.
OK ma'am thanks. smiley

I will like to know the plaiting hair time and spreading leg too.

Are u washing your baby's hair constantly?. When I newly gave birth, I wash once in a while and started noticing cradle cap. I switched to washing everyday. No cradle cap again. My baby hair is full and even.
I wash constantly o during bath time in the mornings but I don't wash in the evening. Do you wash morning and night? The cradle cap is gone though but it did some damage on the hair. sad

I think you can be plaiting it from 3 months. Below 3 months, you should just be bonding it with ribbons.
I'm in same shoes as you, although my baby didn't have cradle cap, all her hair in the middle between the front hair and the back hair has cut in a straight line fashion common with some babies. I'm going to cut the hair next week..cos its not making plaiting very fine.

I started separating my babies leg at 2 month.
OK ma'am thanks. smiley

How old is your baby? Is it the same hair u claim haff chop finish you want to groom? Just moisturize the hair and let it be till like 3-4months.

I don't back my baby. People wey sabi go chook mouth
She will be 3 months in two weeks time. The hair is long the only place that cradle cap chop is the front edge
embarassed which I want to groom I'm thinking of levelling with scissors when everything becomes equal. I don't back her too mil will soon go I feel backing her will allow me do my house chores when I need to since no one will be available to hold her when its time. Thanks smiley

No need of using salt to clean your baby mouth. Ordinary warm water and cotton is mostly advisable.

For the finger brush, I started using for my daughter when she was 9 or 10 month before introducing brush at 13months
Thanks smiley

My son is 5months and yet to start using it. For now, if u must clean ur baby's mouth, just use a wash cloth. I soak on hot water, allow it to cool and clean. I think the brush is maybe when two or more teeth come out.

My 2cents
Hmnn @monmart_kids on Instagram said it is as from 0months. Thanks

Please who has used or is using this finger brush for their babies? When can one start using it? A post on Instagram said from 1month or so but it is bigger than my baby's mouth I can't even use it. How else do you mums take care of your babies mouth and how often do you wash? I did the cotton wool, warm water and salt cleaning sometimes..
