azimibraun: Dr Adesina gave farmers mobile phones thru which they get fertelizer allocation alert and preached cassava bread. We all were impressed and pushed for ADB Presidency for him. Tell me what is wrong with this " goat to widows" initiative in comparism with prviding crop farmers with fertelizers? It appears you dont know the goat meat demand in the south east... Travel and see the quantum of 911 carrying ngoats from the north to the east then come back lets talk. Am beginning to think Governors in the south east will quickly emulate this by empowering Men, Women and Youths in the south east, inother to stop the importation of goats from the north to east and rear their own home grown goats since the south east is the biggest market for goats. This is a big idea. I know how Ofada rice gradually became a brand in this country becouse of ideas like this. I support you Barcanista this guy got it right The only problem I have is the number of goats given It should be 10 goats and a market for goat milk. SUBMARINE: It would have being a better ideal if the governor can increase it to 8 she goats and 2 he goats. But its not a bad ideal if the governor increases it to 10 goats and create a market for goat milk. |

Politics › Re: Military Takes Over NNPC Pipelines In Lagos by SUBMARINE: 7:35am On Jun 22, 2015 |
IbnSultaan: The Nigerian Army said on Sunday that it had taken over the security of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipelines in the Lagos area, along with the Nigerian Navy, and craved the maximum cooperation of host communities. Colonel Mustapha Anka, the Director, Army Public Relations, 81 Division of the Nigerian Army in Lagos, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Anka said the joint operation, code named: "Operation Awase," was set up to tackle the vandalism of the NNPC pipelines in Majidun, Ikorodu and other parts of the state. He said the officers and men sighted by the communities around the pipelines were on legitimate duties. "There is no illegality in the operation of our men in any part of Lagos. We have since discovered that some people in some of the communities around the pipelines are part of the vandals," Anka said. "Any member of the communities where we are operating, without any criminal intention, is free to engage in lawful activities. But vandals will now have no peace in Lagos State," the spokesman warned. "We also solicit the cooperation of the host communities to give us information about the vandals," he said. "We have been operating in the last eight months. The main task of the joint operation is to flush out vandals of pipelines in the Lagos area and its environs," Anka said. The Army spokesman, however, did not mention Arepo area in Ogun State as part of their coverage areas. NAN reported that men of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) were securing some of the pipelines in Lagos and Ogun states before their contract with the NNPC reportedly expired about a week ago. Meanwhile, some security experts have hailed the deployment of the military to secure the pipelines. Mr Charles Anyanwu, a security consultant, said issues relating to security should not have been taken away from the military. He noted that giving such a responsibility to the ethnic militias was like making a mockery of the military, whose responsibility it ought to be. Mr Jide Ageaga, the Head of Operations, Pendulum Security, also commended the Federal Government for terminating the contract with the militia. "This is how terrorism starts. When you allow a militia group with no training whatsoever in the handling of weapons, to be in possession of arms and ammunition, we may not know exactly how it may end. "We just hope the arms in their possession are being accounted for or withdrawn from them by the authority in charge so as to avoid any form of confrontation between the parties," he added. http://tribuneonlineng.com/node/8743 In Lagos and not SS When he gets to SS , your hero will understand . |

More facts Prior to his death, Sarduna imported weapons to execute his plan to dip the Qur'an into the Atlantic ocean through the destabilization of Eastern region in the same way he did destabilized SW. Mobsync: 1. The Republic of Biafra actually had two presidents. The first was Odumegwu Ojukwu. The second was Obong Philip Ewing who was in office from January 8 till January 12, 1970, after Ojukwu had fled the country. 2. The Republic of Benin* is the shortest independent country in the world. It was created in the then Mid-Western region, Nigeria, by the Biafran government on September 19, 1967. It lasted till September 20, 1967, when it was captured by Nigerian troops. *The Republic of Benin should not be confused with the West African countrt: Benin Republic, which is also called the Republic of Benin. During their Nigerian civil war, Benin Republic was officially known as the Republic of Dahomey. 3. Contrary to popular belief, the coup of January 15-16, 1966, was not executed by Major-General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi. It was executed by five Army majors (four Igbos and one Yoruba): Kaduna Nzeogwu, Timothy Onwuatuegwu, Emmanuel Ifeajuna, Chris Anuforo and Adewale Ademoyega. Emmanuel Ifeajuna was the leader and not Nzeogwu as some people claim. Aguyi-Ironsi only came into power because he was the highest ranking military officer in Nigeria after the coup failed. 4. The January 1966 coup was actually half-successful. Kaduna Nzeogwu was able to capture the north but Timothy Onwuatuegwu was unable to capture the south. Kaduna controlled northern Nigeria for several weeks while Aguiyi-Ironsi controlled the southern Nigeria. Kaduna controlled northern Nigeria for several weeks while Aguiyi-Ironsi controlled the southern Nigeria. 5. General Yakubu Gowon is a Christian from the Ngas tribe (also called Angas), based in Lur village, Plateau State. He was chosen as president of Nigeria after the counter-coup of 1966 which was led by northern soldiers. Gowon was chosen because he was neither an Hausa, Fulani or Muslim. The coupists did not want it to look like northern coup. 6. Before the coup of 1966, Major Kaduna Nzeogwu often led some soldiers on a training excercise close to the house of the premier of the north: Sir Ahmadu Bello. The training exercise, codenamed "Excercise Damisa," was actually a dry run to the impending coup. On the day of the coup, Nzeogwu personally threw the grenade that destroyed Sir Ahmadu Bello's gate. 7. Nobel laureate: professor Wole Soyinka, visited Odumegwu Ojukwu in August 1967, so they could discuss how to avert the war. This angered Yakubu Gowon who had him detained for almost two years. 8. Emmanuel Ifeajuna later fought for Biafra during the Civil War. He was arrested and executed at the orders of Ojukwu who believed he was negotiating a ceasefire with Nigeria and was also trying to overthrow him. 9. During the counter coup of 1966 that brought Yakubu Gowon into power; Buka Suka Dimka, who later killed Murtala Muhammed in the botched 1973 coup, tried killing his Brigade Major: Samuel Ogbemudia, because he detained him for deploying soldiers without authorization. Dimka conscripted some northern soldiers who chased Ogbemudia all the way from Kaduna to Owo, Ondo state. Both sides exchanged gunfire during the chase which only ended when Ogbemudia's Land Rover ran out of fuel and he escaped into the jungle. 10. The famous 3rd Marine Commandos headed by Colonel Benjamin Adekunle and later Olusegun Obasanjo, was originally named the 3rd Infantry Division. Without approval from Army headquarters, Colonel Benjamin Adekunle changed the name to 3rd Marine Commandos because he felt the 3rd Infantry Division did not really project the unique, difficult and dangerous terrain the division was operating. Today, the 3rd Marine Commandos are in Jos, Plateau state. They have been renamed the 3rd Armored Division.
