Eizzy003: I just da laugh dm, as they talk say make dm replace any striker with Dessers, someone that wasn't listed in the 40 man list, and you just want to call him up for a tournament just like that, even Dennis that actually had an invite but it came late his club didn't accept it. Let's just forget Dessers we won't be seeing him in this tournament, even as a sub in his club, his club won't let him leave just like that Oga no club has a right to deny a player of Afcon invitation despite how late the call up is, leave this thing Watford dey talk na because Dennis has already decided that he is not going to Afcon that is why his club is flying this rubbish to defend him, no be Ebuehi and Olayinka una say their call up is not possible no be them arrive so even Liverpool know say they are powerless that's why they released Mane and Salah |

What made it ridiculous? The reasons Eguavoen abandoned it were time and CAF not allowing changes. He never said it was ridiculous. So who made it ridiculous? You?
Since I stopped slapping people on this thread, some of you are growing wings. This is not how to start the new year but take it.
CAF perfectly allowed changes by the way, Eguavoen was allowed to replace any injured player in the list with any local player, the reason Eguavoen abandoned it is because it is ridiculous |

You have not made any point in your post.
So I need to start explaining what I think you mean.
Let me try.
The news was that Eguavoen was going to make a standby list of five players. Remember it is report we read. I was in support of the idea of having home-based players in camp in case of injuries and you need to make changes. You can not use foreign base players to come and sit in camp in case of injuries.
So what is your point?
This news is about Eguavoen wanting to include home-based players in the OFFICIAL LIST. Chai ok |

How does it not relate? Eguavoen wanted to give them a chance but because of how short the time is, he dropped the NPFL players. He even assured their time will come. So explain yourself. Ok how did the players miraculously leave their clubs and come to camp on short notice

TheGoodJoe: My respect for Eguavoen just went up.
Eguavoen explains why he shelved the plan for seven NPFL non-roster invitees to train with Eagles
Nigeria's caretaker manager Augustine Eguavoen has explained why he shelved the plan for seven Nigeria Professional Football League non-roster invitees to train with the national team in Abuja ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles legend was in touch with players from Enugu Rangers, Kwara United, Kano Pillars and Rivers United among others, only for him to jettison the idea on second thought.
Eguavoen stressed that it made no sense for the seven domestic-based players to train with the team as their clubs have key matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
None of the NPFL stars stood a chance of being included in the traveling squad to Cameroon this week simply because their names were not on the provisional roster submitted to the Confederation of African Football.
"I still have their names, about seven home based players I wanted to be in the midst, train and then see what happens but my hands were so tied that the league only started on the 19th of December," Eguavoen said to NFF TV.
"I know players have to play in their teams, no time to play any friendly games.
"I had to reach out to Tope (Olusesi) from Rangers, (Musa) Afeez from Kwara United, Uche (Onwuansanya) from Rivers United, couple of players but we have to submit a list, so there is no time to actually give them that opportunity to play friendly games but hopefully they will also still have a chance.
"But it really doesn't make sense to bring them now, deny them from playing for their clubsides midweek, weekend, and then we are on the plane to Cameroon, and to go back home. It doesn't really make sense but their chance will come".
Enyimba's John Noble is the only home-based player included in Nigeria's 28-man squad list for the Africa Cup of Nations and definitely starts the tournament as the fourth choice in the pecking order of goalkeepers.

How many combination passes has be done so far for the few games he played for the eagles ?
Kpele ooo Our match against Sierra Leone is a case study of Ebuehi's style of play, he kept most of our possession from right back, being a good attacking full back is knowing when to overlap and when to combine with the winger not every time you keep overlapping like a mad dog |

Aina is more attacking You think attacking is overlapping and running the ball out of play, Ebuehi is more intelligent to make combination passes and through balls and over the top balls while still maintaining his defensive solidity |
