PoliticsThis Is What Youths Should Do For PDP And APC During Election - Omoyele Sowore. by Success100(op):
The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has said that there is no rational Nigerian who would willingly cast vote for the two major parties APC and PDP in the imminent elections.

He stated this in a chat with media while making references to the past years of waste and stagnation under the watchful eyes of the two parties, saying they are unrepentant and mastermind the country’s political and economic doldrums. How we plan to mechanize agric sector – Osinbajo

“Every trick in the political world has been played and outplayed by these political class. Nobody is carried away by money anymore. Nobody is swayed by rented crowd out there, with silent majority making decision to vote their conscience this time. If the elections would be free and fair, there would be no rational human being who will vote for the two major parties this time and what that means is that, we have the brightest chance in AAC,” he said.

On the premise of their bad antecedents, Sowore pointed,“I understand there is a lot of anxiety and despondency. Many people are actually depressed about the country. I mean– clinically depressed. That’s the truth, but, that is exactly why things must change because it is either we give in or brace ourselves up for a struggle like this in providing the liberation that we need. And the reason this must happen is because we have nowhere else to go. For those of us who are outside the country, we have seen other parts of the world and found out there is nothing as good as having a country that works and you come back so much energized considering you know that only less than one percent of the population is holding the country to ransom.

“If you can break through from them, you have a country and you will be happy in it and be proud that you did something for the next generation. You know that when we look at the process, we blame our parents and when I do so, I do so with some level of bitterness. I wonder how my children would feel to know that I could do something different but did nothing about the situation. What if I did and it didn’t work? Maybe, they will be proud of me and others could be happy as well. That’s part of it, better to try than not trying at all,” he added.

While urging the citizens to brace up, Sowore emphasized the need to vote for conscience rather than allow votes to be swayed by pecuniary gains and transient gratifications that have been consistently used to bait the electorates.

He expressed optimism about his victory at the polls, observing that a silent majority amongst the electorates who have awakened to the call for self-liberation and are poised not to be deceived by stomach infrastructure offered by desperate politicians during electioneering campaigns would ensure his emergence “I am worried that the opportunity that we have is not being adequately utilized especially when you look at the electoral map and see that the highest number of eligible voters are young people. And that they could just take a snap decision to vote for one person that would bring an end to the very oppressive and destructive guise of the ruling class.”

He further stated, “The disruption has been done in the last nine months. I made a pronouncement in one of the first town hall meetings that, since I have disrupted the media I was going to disrupt the political space and, you can count the number of things that have happened since we started. “First, was that we wanted to demystify all the very powerful criminal institutions in politics and we have done that. We have demystified the power of money, the notion that Nigeria is complex and vague, the notion of religion and ethnicity in the sense that, we have been able to travel round the country, get wide acceptance, under the same political party, young people from across all different ethnic groups and religious beliefs. Nobody is thinking ethnicity and everybody is thinking humanity till now.

We have disrupted the political process to the point that we are forcing conversations that ordinarily don’t happen. “We created one of the most popular political parties in Nigeria today, AAC and it’s just six months old. So, a number of theories have been disrupted and the disruption process is completed as we wait for people’s mandate in the election,” Sowore concludes.

PoliticsI’ll Double As President And Sports Minister If … – Omoyele Sowore by Success100(op): 3:45pm On Feb 06, 2019
Sowore spoke to NAN at the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon where he was a guest on Saturday.

The presidential hopeful said that he would give sports its deserved priority if elected president on the Feb. 16 presidential election.

“I will give sports the needed priority in my government because it gives youths opportunity for interaction not only social but economic. I will be in charge of sports if elected. “It also develops the body physically and mentally.

It is an opportunity for wealth creation in terms of employment generation and also health enhancement. “In terms of sports development, I can say that the country is lagging, we have yet to tap the opportunity that abounds in sport for revenue generation; we need to catch up with others. “Another important thing to note is that only through sports can we actively engage our youths, and I am saying this with all sense of diligence,’’ he said.

Sowore, who claimed to have participated in several marathons across the world, including the 2017 edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, said sports could be used to end insurgency. “In Nigeria, we lack the necessary drive towards encouraging or promoting grassroots development of sports which has greatly affected the youth. “If we channel our sports well enough, maybe those who are engaging in insurgency such as Boko Haram wouldn’t have been in the group. “Year in year out, we spend millions of Naira for security at the expense of developing our youths; there are lots to do in this regard. “I am an advocate of developing a sport culture which is investment in sports that will yield good dividends,’’ he said.

Sowore, the brain behind the news online, Sahara Reporters, said that the recent statistics of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) collected which has 51 per cent of youths was a positive one. “The present pie chart released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that has 51 per cent of youths as registered is a good news. “That means majority of those registered to vote are youths, that says something strong and that is the first time in history. “I want to advise the youth to use that power positively to change their condition this time around. Lots of our youths are absolutely discouraged and have low esteem. “To get them back will require lots of efforts; we record lots of progress in the social media and offline as well. The presidential election result will shock many,’

PoliticsOmoyele Sowore Participates In Lagos City Marathon (PICTURES). by Success100(op): 1:47pm On Feb 04, 2019
Omoyele Sowore, Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has called on Nigerians to vote people who will ensure that sports are developed to fit global best practices rather than leaders who will spend the nation’s resources on medical trips abroad.

He made the statement while completing the 10KM Access Bank Lagos City Marathon at the Eko Atlantic City in Lagos.

Sowore said: “This is the kind of leader Nigeria needs, ones with stamina who are fit and can participate in sporting activities so that they can understand how sports should be developed and what a great opportunity it is for our young people to aspire for something that is bigger than themselves"

Speaking on the needs to elect health leaders, Sowore said Nigeria do not need a President that will spend the nation's resources on a medical trip abroad.

He said, "We do not need Nigeria's next President to spend our resources on medical trips abroad. I challenge the two major parties filled with old people to present their candidates for a marathon. They can never do it, they celebrate 800km walks and old ideas. We must change this on February 16th 2019."

Recall that Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari embarked on a six-day vacation in the United Kingdom on February 5, 2016, but did not come back to the country until August 2016 after spending 104 days for medical treatment.

PoliticsI’m Not Intimidated By Moneybag Politicians, Won’t Step Down – Omoyele Sowore by Success100(op): 9:20am On Feb 04, 2019
The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Sunday said he was not intimidated by the moneybag politicians and as such would not jettison his presidential ambition.

He made the strong submission in an interview at Saturday’s 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon where he was a guest. Sowore The presidential hopeful said that the mandate which he was pursuing was sacrosanct to the development of the constituency he represents, therefore, adoption of a consensus candidate by political parties won’t deter him.

“I have a passion to fix Nigeria which has been there since I was younger. I am working on how this country can achieve the desired greatness. “I am propelled by the appalling situation of this country that in spite of its abundance, we have yet to achieve anything; the older generation has failed the country. “I am aware of some presidential candidates stepping down or the coalition of political parties having a consensus candidate. I won’t step down for anybody. “I am not stepping down for any candidate because we don’t have anything in common. We are in the injury time before the election, so no stepping down,’’ he affirmed.

Sowore said he was not scared, adding that his desire to fix Nigeria was the driving point of his presidential ambition. “I am not scared of Nigeria’s political terrain. If the military dictatorship did not scare me, I can’t be scared off when we are in democracy though not in the right concept.

President Weah to speak on democracy in Lagos, Feb 6 “I am not scared of the moneybag politicians; not scared of acceptance from Nigeria because I have travelled all over the country, including 34 states of the federation and Federal Capital Territory (FCT). “I fully understand the terrain and I have what it takes to take Nigeria to the desired promise land. I don’t want to be bogged down by any political arrangement. Atiku and Obi will return Nigeria to part of economic progress, says Chima Anyaso “I have been part of the political process in the country and my mission is to rescue Nigeria,’’ he said. (NAN)

Sowore my guy. Be like say na 2036 get you
It seems as if the poverty level in this country is not yet high? How long are we going o continue to suffer in this country.
Politics'Patriotic Lawyers' Says It’s Time To Change To Sowore by Success100(op):
Abubakar Yesufu, Chairman of the League of Patriotic Lawyers Forum, has called on Nigerian youth to cast their votes for Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), in the February 16 presidential election.

Yesufu stated this during an interview with SaharaReporters on Thursday.

Yesufu, a former Student Union President of the University of Benin, said his group was significant to the victories of former President Goodluck Jonathan and President Muhammadu Buhari in 2011 and 2015, respectively.

His words: “I am excited about how he has promised to disrupt the status quo of this country as he has disrupted the media space. I have never met Sowore and I don’t intend to meet him but we believe in what he is doing, because it is important for our generation to come out and strengthen him

"We are asking all centre groups and Atiku to step down and cast their support for the African Action Congress party. We’ve been able to follow him closely and he is the only person that has the idea and exposure to take Nigeria to the greater level. When Jonathan was facing problem and came up with the idea of doctrine of necessity, we led a team of legal practitioners to support Jonathan because we believe that's the man who doesn’t have shoes and the truth is that, he became the president.

"We now shifted ground to Buhari in 2015 and that is why on AIT and Channels, we supported him. However, weeks to the 2019 elections, we are not comfortable. So what we need to do now is to rally round Sowore; not only the youth but everybody. That can take us out from the pit we are in. I’m a lawyer and you can see what is happening in the judiciary.

"Right now, we are in between the devil and the deep blue sea with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). I have nothing against Atiku though. But I believe the throttle-driving Atiku does not have the capability of delivering democracy. He has been on that road for the past 16 years.

"I have listened to these people and want to support AAC. He will become a great icon to reckon with. If we fail to support Sowore, we should be ready for four more years of hardship under Buhari.”

PoliticsUpdate! Sowore And The Bitter Truth About Coalition by Success100(op): 4:40pm On Jan 30, 2019
Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), says his party cannot afford to pollute its ideology by joining a coalition.

Sowore said this on Tuesday during a morning show on Arise Television.

The presidential candidate said his colleagues from other parties have not reached out to him on the issue of coalition.

On Thursday, Fela Durotoye, presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), said he was ready to withdraw from the race for a consensus candidate.

He made his position known a few hours after Oby Ezekwesili announced her withdrawal.

Reacting to the development, Sowore said: “Our party is a coalition of the oppressed, the abandoned, unemployed, poor and downtrodden.

“So, what we are looking for is more partnership and enlargement of our platform to accommodate more people that want their voices to be heard. We always invite others to join us. But in this case, they have not reached out to us yet.

“Some of these parties are not out there. We are out there. We just came back from Bauchi, Gombe and Jos. We are meeting with Nigerian people who are going to vote on February 16. I was not part of those meetings.

“Our focus at this point is winning the election. We are not just going to be part of a coalition for the purpose of creating another coalition. People already know us and what we stand for.

“We cannot afford to pollute or dilute what we stand for. We must have some kind of genetic similarity with others who want to form coalition with us. For example, we can’t compromise on the issue of minimum wage. So, we cannot join a coalition of people who don’t understand us. It has to be very clear what they are joining us for.”

PoliticsBREAKING: Fela Durotoye 'ready' To Step Down For Sowore Or Moghalu by Success100(op): 11:14am On Jan 24, 2019
Fela Durotoye, presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), has expressed readiness to step down for either Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) or Kingsley Moghalu, presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), if a transparent process to select a consensus candidate produces someone other than himself.

Durotoye said this on Thursday in response to the withdrawal of Oby Ezekwesili, presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), from the race.

Ezekwesili withdrew from the race on THursday, citing the need to help build a coalition to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election.

Durotoye has now expressed readiness to follow suit.

http://saharareporters.com/2019/01/24/breaking-fela-durotoye-ready-step-down-sowore-or-moghalu

“I have always believed that leadership is about service and sacrifice and today, I would like to commend Dr. (Mrs) Oby Ezekwesili @obyezeks for leading the charge to forming a viable coalition to presenting a Consensus Candidate for the 2019 Presidential elections,” he said.

“To ensure that an alliance is formed and we present a united front, I AM READY to come into any coalition talks with my brothers Omoyele Sowore @yelesho and Prof. Kingsley Moghalu @moghalukingsley and to submit myself to any transparent process that will help us arrive at a selection of a Consensus Candidate from amongst us.

“To be clear, if the process produces any other candidate apart from myself, I AM READY to support whoever the consensus candidate is and to do all I can to support the coalition to win the 2019 Presidential elections for our generation.

“Once again, I implore the frontline candidates in our generation. Let us come together and seize this historic window of opportunity for our generation to select one of us to go ahead of us ... so that ALL OF US can come together and speak with one voice at the 2019 General Elections. Together, we can do the perceived impossible. Our generation is depending on us. We must not let them down.”

PoliticsMeet AAC's presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, leader of a people's movement by Success100(op): 3:41pm On Jan 22, 2019
Omoyele Sowore is seeking to upset the odds and put an end to Nigeria's old political establishment at the polls next month.

In October 2018, Omoyele Sowore emerged the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), a party that was just newly-registered in August.

With just four weeks left before Nigerians troop to the polls to elect a new president, he's one of the many outsiders who fancy their chances of pulling off an unlikely victory.

Even though the outspoken candidate is more popularly known as the founder of Sahara Reporters, a media outfit that started operations in 2006, his years of advocacy could be said to have prepared him for what the online website has been able to achieve over the years.

His activism kicked off fully in 1989 as a student of the University of Lagos, where he studied Geography and Planning, and he soon took centre stage when he became the president of the institution's student union government in 1992.

He was most notably an active campaigner for the return of democracy in the 1990s and led several protests against the annulment of the 1993 presidential election, a struggle that earned him occasional detentions by authorities.

With a marked distaste for the abuse of power and mismanagement of resources, most of Sowore's work with Sahara Reporters has been about exposing the rot in the Nigerian government.

His media activism, that has exposed several government officials and many others, has won him admirers and nearly an equal amount of detractors.

However, Sowore, who also holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Columbia University, does not care for detractors as long as people trusted with power are not allowed to continue to operate with impunity.

This is what also drives his quest for the presidency, the seat where he believes the most impunity that has held Nigeria back the most happens.

His disdain for the established political class is not the most well-kept secret in the world, so his decision to finally attempt an upset of it is hardly a surprise.

When he first declared his intention to run for president in February 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, former Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu, and current Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, were some of the victims of his outrage.

He later disclosed during an interview that his motivation to run for president was partly fueled by "the complete capitulation and collapse of Buhari to corruption and corrupt influences, his lack of direction and motivation to do what is right at all times".

If you ask Omoyele Sowore, Nigeria's myriad of problems boils down to a failure of quality leadership, a problem he hopes to solve with a win at the polls next month.

"It is clear to me that the challenge Nigeria now faces, and in truth has suffered for some time - is a crisis in leadership," he said last year.

Omoyele Sowore (left) with running mate, Rabiu Rufai (right) [Facebook/Omoyele Sowore]
He believes leaders who lack the political will to transform the country will continue to hold it back and let it wallow in mediocrity while they pilfer its resources.

To begin to reset Nigeria's course for a more prosperous destination, his focus is on fixing the nation's epileptic power supply, insecurity, unemployment and creating an enabling environment for businesses to grow.

Fighting corruption is also not left out, of course, as he believes it's directly responsible for poor economic growth and the reason for the worsening Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast region, an insurgency that's been active for nearly 10 years now.

"Corruption thrives because our leaders have lacked the political will to act against corrupt officials. I will act decisively to deal with this national cancer," he said.

Sowore is eager to prove himself to the Nigerian people as someone worthy of their trust, someone whose words mean something.

And he has said plenty.

Omoyele Sowore is eager to lead Nigeria away from the destruction he believes the current political class will drive the country into
His most popular campaign promise is the plan to increase the national minimum wage, currently N18,000, to N100,000, an amount he regards a living wage that'll exponentially improve the lives of Nigerian workers who have been underpaid for years due to the lack of political will to reward them while politicians smile to the bank.

He's also promised to fire every general in the Nigerian Army who's involved in fighting Boko Haram, alleging that their corrupt acts have allowed the insurgency to drag on for years.

To combat Nigeria's housing deficit, he promised earlier this month that he'll set aside $3.6 billion to turn Nigerian into a construction site that'll eventually provide homes for millions of people.

Even though some of his campaign promises have been tagged 'populist', even by fellow candidates, Sowore believes political will to improve the lives of every Nigerian will go a long way in steering the country in a happier direction.

Omoyele Sowore
The AAC flag bearer has run an impressive non-traditional campaign, by Nigerian standards, that has been praised by many as forward-thinking. His campaign has been largely funded through crowdsourcing, with donations of $135,584 (nearly N50 million) on GoFundMe alone.

He's held town hall meetings in the country and abroad and has travelled the lengths of the country to spread his message of hope to students and youth, organised labour, artisans, trade associations, chambers of commerce, religious and ethnic associations - groups he considers "relevant constituencies".

For Omoyele Sowore, his candidacy is the embodiment of a people's movement, an assertion that'll be put to test when Nigerians vote at the polls on February 16.

Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has revealed his plans for the education sector.

Sowore, who is also the Publisher of SaharaReporters, premised his plans for the education sector on the following: Free, compulsory and qualitative education; payment of cost of study allowance; abolishment of fees and exorbitant charges; establishment of community colleges and creation of vocational/technical colleges.

According to a statement by the SoworeOnCampus Special Intervention Unit, there is need to invest in the sector, as the current system "isn’t only designed to produce mass of unemployable graduates, it is also structured to keep and send millions of children with poor background out of school".

The statement read: "Right from the military regime and down to the draconic civilian dictatorship which was albeit misnamed democracy, we have always been victims of government policies targeted at creating an army of extremely poor and uneducated population. It is no wonder Nigeria is at present the poverty capital of the world despite its enormous human and natural resources. Without regard for the slightest economic caution, all the economic facets and sectors haven’t only fallen prey to indignation and deprivations, but they have also been consciously designed and rigged against the poor.

"One of the major economic gang-up against the poor people is the several and wicked attempt by government at all levels to price education out of the reach of the poor through education underfunding, unaffordable fees, arbitrary fee increments as well as animalistic living and learning conditions. The Nigerian education system as of today isn’t only designed to produce mass of unemployable graduates, it is also structured to keep and send millions of children with poor background out of school.

"Creating an investment based education system was and had never been in the plan of the Nigerian ruling class. They have consciously failed to see and acknowledge the unbreakable link between functional education system and national prosperity. Our party, the African Action Congress (AAC), believes that a government that fails to thoroughly invest in the education of its young people should definitely prepare itself for unsustainable economy, increased crime rate and terrorism. A government that fails to build schools would definitely build prisons. It will continue to invest in feeding prisoners since it has failed to invest in the education of young people."

The statement highlighted the plans of the party to improve education as follows:

Free, Compulsory and Qualitative Education: While Atiku through his ‘spokesperson’ Ben Bruce has communicated their plan to privatize our tertiary institution — a move that would bring school fees to a minimum of 600 thousand naira — meanwhile, the Buhari’s administration through his ‘spokesman’ on education, Dr Wale Babalakin, has made public their intention to increase school fees to the tune of 350 thousand for non science courses and 500 thousand for science related courses. Contrary to the madness of the PDP and APC, our party, the African Action Congress (AAC) and its Presidential Candidate, Omoyele Sowore, would ensure education is free from primary down to the tertiary level. Admission racketeering, nepotism and favoritism would be completely eliminated from our tertiary institutions. We would also immediately employ 200,000 teachers to increase the capacity of personnel in primary and secondary education.

Payment of Cost of Study Allowance: Omoyele Sowore and the African Action Congress would pay N100,000 per session to students of tertiary institutions as study allowance. This will ensure our students do not study under empty stomachs and are also able to meet up with basic financial and academic needs.

Abolishment of Fees and Exorbitant Charges: When elected as President, our administration would not only reverse all fee increment policies, we would completely abolish all fees.

Establishment of Community Colleges: Aside the fact that our administration would pump enormous resources into funding existing tertiary institutions, we would establish a community college in each local government of the federation. This would ensure that learning and academic curriculum are drawn within the confines of the economic requirements of each community and local government. For example, students in a fishing/leather-making community should learn with a ‘fishing/leather-making curricula’. Just as we have it in the US, policies like these would industrialize our local communities on a large scale; give bigger economic roles to communities and local government. This itself would constitute a major leap to national prosperity such as which has never been seen even in the history of Africa.

Creation of Vocational/Technical Colleges: For us in the African Action Congress (AAC), we do not find commissioning of projects like roads, bridges, railway, etc., worthy of celebration until we ‘commission’ a generation of engineers and technicians (plumbers, welders, miners etc) who can build our infrastructures. We would invest massively into the technical education of the citizens.

"We then seize this medium to call on all well-meaning Nigerians to join in the struggle to revitalise education to the highest level for national prosperity,2 the statement added with a call on Nigerians to cast their votes for Sowore.

PoliticsCDD Presidential Debate: Sowore Reveals What He Plans To Do To Corrupt Leaders by Success100(op): 5:53pm On Jan 16, 2019
Sowore Vows To Deal With Corrupt leaders If He Becomes President

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has said he and his party will revoke national awards given to corrupt individuals if he is elected president.

Sowore made this assertion at the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) debate today.

Naija News reports that all political parties were present except Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who sent a delegate and President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress who neither showed up nor sent delegates.

The publisher of Sahara Reporters, said his party will fight corruption by making the system transparent, adding that all national officers who have been given national honours in the past, and have then been found to be involved in corruption, will be stripped of their national honours.

“It is very very important that, in dealing with corruption in Nigeria, we start using technology to aid prevention. There is what they call blockchain technology, there is encryption.

“Our biggest problem is the opaque nature of how we do our transaction in the public sphere, and the lack of transparency in the way we conduct our businesses.

“The moment you remove that, all the thieves will be hung out dry, because before they get anything done, we have seen it, we have tracked it, and we ensure that we nip them in the bud.

“If we are doing contracting, it must be transparent to all. There is no reason why an average Nigerian cannot tell how much we are making in the so-called TSA. How much is there? We are entitled to it, how is money moving?

“The second thing we need to do is that a lot of our assets is also publicly available. The land registry of Abuja, you cannot find it, because the whole of Abuja is owned by a few people.

“The asset declaration forms of public officers is something that an ordinary Nigeria can download. Without having to go through the eye of the needle.”

He said corruption should not be left to the police to fight alone, it should be a collective battle, suggesting that incentives should be remooved.

“Let us also talk about enforcement. Sometimes, when money is moving around, there is paperwork and paper trail, we have an NFIU, they know when thieves are stealing money, but if you don’t put the right people there, you are wasting your time, because they would never whistleblow on these guys who are stealing.

“I and our party will remove everybody who has a national award, who were shown in this movie shown by CDD today, we would remove all their national awards, all the GCFRs, the GCONs, the MONs, who are involved in corruption.”

Sowore will be flying the flag of the African Action Congress (AAC), a party he founded in 2018 and became its national chairman before he was elected the party's candidate in October 2018 with no challenger.

What is the probability of Omoyele Sowore winning the Nigerian presidential election?
The February 16 election is widely billed to be a keen contest between President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

However, Sowore is confident that 2019 is the year that the stranglehold of the established political class will be broken by Nigerian voters who are fed up of the nation's terrible decades of underachievement.

PoliticsAPC-Led Coalition Joins Conspiracy To Exclude Sowore From Presidential Debate by Success100(op): 1:46pm On Jan 14, 2019
The African Action Congress (AAC), the political party of presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, has fingered the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing plot to exclude its candidate from the presidential debate organised by the Nigeria Elections Debate Group (NEDG) and the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON).

According to the party, the United Party of Nigeria (UPN), which is a member of the APC-led Coalition of Progressives Political Parties (CPPP), is set to file a motion at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja seeking to be joined as a party in the Sowore suit.

AAC said the aim of UPN’s suit is to throw impediments in the way of a timely ruling on the case, so that there will be no resolution before January 19, when the debate will hold.

“The African Action Congress and the Sowore 2019 Campaign has been notified of a plot to use frivolous law suits as a salt tactic to prevent a timely ruling on the case instituted by our party for the inclusion of Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the party, in the January 19th NEDG/BON 2019 debate,” read a statement released on Thursday by Dr Malcolm Fabiyi, Director-General of the Sowore 2019 Campaign.

“We have made it clear to Nigerians that we believe that our party’s exclusion from that debate was orchestrated by the ruling party. Now, in a fit of desperation, the masquerades have been forced to take off their masks.

“We have it on good authority that the UPN, a member of the APC led Coalition of Progressives Political Parties (CPPP), will file a motion at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja seeking to be joined as a party in the suit which was filed in December 2018 by the National Legal Adviser of the AAC, Inibehe Effiong.

“UPN will, in its motion, ask that its presidential candidate, one Alhaji Ahmed Sakil, also be allowed to participate in the January 19, 2019 presidential debate organised by the NEDG and BON.

“Nigerians will recall that the CPPP openly declared support for the re-election of Buhari after a meeting at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja in July 2018. How then can a candidate from one of the coalition partners of the CPPP be filing a suit to be included in a debate which their adopted candidate, President Buhari, will be participating in?

"Concerned by the obvious progress that our case is making in the judicial system, the APC/CPPP coalition is now resorting to desperate measures in their attempt to prevent the most authentic voice for the New Nigeria that we are all yearning for, to be a part of the debate about its future. The legal strategy that the APC-CPPP-UPN team is banking on is one of delay. The goal, as we have reliably learned is to throw impediments in the way of a timely ruling on the case, so that there will be no resolution before January 19th, when the debate will hold.”

Fabiyi asked Nigerians to ask themselves the following questions: Why would UPN, a political party that has publicly endorsed the ruling APC, suddenly seek to be joined as a party in the case just few days to the debate? Why did the UPN not file its own case to demand inclusion in the debate but had to wait till a few days to the presidential election debate before seeking to be joined in the AAC's case?

“They are afraid. But what is the APC afraid of? Why is there such an obvious fear of allowing the participation of Omoyele Sowore in the presidential debate? What does the ruling establishment have to hide? We know they do not want us to reveal to Nigerians that the Next Level that they are seeking, is a worse level of depravity, ineptitude, nepotism and corruption,” he added.

“They are afraid that what they tell themselves behind closed doors, as Nigerians learned from the revealing confessions that Amaechi made about Buhari and the APC’s views about Nigeria, will be openly exposed to the Nigerian people, on prime time TV.

“Our concerns are being validated and confirmed. Our party’s selection as only one of four political parties in Nigeria selected for the MacArthur Foundation sponsored Town Hall series is further evidence that the NEDG and BON working in concert with others rigged the AAC out of the debate. The MacArthur foundation is one of the most respected organizations in the world. Their selection process mirrored in many parts the process that NEDG and BON claimed to follow, yet the outcomes were different. We reiterate that even the process that the NEDG, BON and Channels TV used returned the AAC as one of the top three parties in Nigeria. To those who seek to exclude us we say: truth can never be silenced. We will prevail!!”

PoliticsBreaking! Adamawa Gladiators To Mobilise 1million Votes For Sowore. (pictures) by Success100(op): 2:27pm On Jan 11, 2019
A group known as the Adamawa Political Gladiators (APG) is mobilising one million votes for Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC).

Speaking on behalf of the group to newsmen in Yola on Friday, Tony Sudan Gompwel said he had also printed campaign materials and branded a vehicle towards actualising Sowore's presidential bid in 2019.

"We're targeting one million votes for Sowore, and we're canvassing those votes on a wide range social media platforms,” he said.

"We're developing the Sowore followership, using pyramid styled network of down-line supporters.

"For instance, if I steer 50 people, I expect them to steer 50 each; and so the chain goes on till we are able to raise one million votes and even surpass it for Sowore.”

Gompwel further said he had printed “14,000 posters, 12,000 stickers, 12 large-format size banners and branded a vehicle with pictures of Sowore and his running mate”.

“We're doing all these things not expecting any personal reward, because I believe Sowore embodies the yearnings and aspirations of many young Nigerians,” he said.

On the chances of Sowore’s victory at the polls, he said: “We keyed into the AAC candidate because we believe in his vision for Nigeria. And make no mistake about this, Omoyele Sowore is going to win and he is the next President.

“I say this because I know it very well that Buhari and Atiku are going to be voted out next month. Both men are predators, out to destroy our economy. On the other hand, people are getting to know the man Sowore, and I bet you he is going to emerge victorious.”

PoliticsStop Voting For Thieves Who Owe You Salaries, Says Sowore In Kogi by Success100(op): 11:07am On Jan 08, 2019
Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has asked Nigerians to collectively vote out leaders who "perpetually enslave their followers by not paying salaries, and not building hospitals or equipping schools for children".

He stated this while speaking with thousands of supporters at a mega rally in Kabba, Kogi State.

Speaking on why he should be elected as president in February, Sowore said: “This is the time for young people to take power back from those who have abused it over the years. We are fighting to ensure that everyone who is working for Nigeria earns a living wage of N100,000. We are fighting for your kids, who are currently out of school, to access education for free as well as health care because Nigeria is blessed with resources, but thieves whom we have elected over the years keep stealing to take care of themselves and not you.

“Are you not tired of the suffering and poverty?”

His question met with a thunderous “we are" in response from the crowd.

“It is time for Kogi people to say enough once and for all so that we can truly liberate Nigeria and become the leaders we were promised while we were in school. The AAC is set to send the shameless fathers like Buhari who have refused to let go of power back to Daura. The roads here are terrible; it's a sign that the people you have voted for have failed you. They do not remember you, save for election cycles when they bring a miserly N4,000, and you never hear from them again. Vote for me come February 16 and watch Nigeria transform before your eyes,” he added.

The Kabba rally, which was also attended by Dr. Rabiu Ahmed Rufai, the AAC vice-presidential candidate, as well as party executives in the state, kicked off the SoworeRufai2019 Middle Belt campaign rallies, which will take the campaign caravan across cities like Kaduna, Plateau, Bauchi, Taraba, Gombe and Adamawa states, as part of a 100-city tour ahead of the 2019 general election.

Politics2019: Sowore defeats Durotoye and Moghalu as Coalition Of parties Endorse Him. by Success100(op): 10:53am On Jan 07, 2019
A coalition of political parties and politicians have endorsed Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC).

This formed part of the activities at a recent meeting held in Ondo South senatorial zone.

Speaking at the event, Sowore called on Nigerians to do the right thing at the polls scheduled for February, to truly experience a new year.

In his comments on the need for Nigerians to vote right in the 2019 elections, Sowore said: "This time around, this is going to be a new year for us if we do the right thing. We are all united here today because of our country Nigeria. Don’t get edgy if we are talking about problems created by other political parties. You are entitled to join political parties; it's your constitutional right and if you join a political party and you discover that the political party is not delivering, don't feel guilty about that. Feel free to go the path of honour by joining personalities, when you cannot find parties that carry forward your aspirations of a better country.

"You must have watched a lot of movies about Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Malcom X, but sometimes you don't know that your own Nelson Mandela is in your house because you ignore them when they show traits of these same individuals."

In his remarks at the event, one of the stakeholders, Reverend Gbenga Akinrogunde, said: "For some time now, I have been following you. I have listened to many of your talks and interactions. I've seen most of your videos where you get out of your car in traffic and talk to people and it has stirred something in me. I want to encourage you. God is in this cause you are walking in; for you to be a courageous leader of this magnitude, this is the person our heart should work for".

Victor Abiodun from Okitipupa, who is also convener of the Ikale Advancement movement, said: "I am a living witness to his struggle for a better country. On August 1st, 4th and 15th with Sowore, we took to the streets to protest the lack of electricity in Ore, after which it was restored. I have no doubt he will be a good leader".

Delivering a goodwill message, Chief Thompson Akam from Ese Odo ward one, said: "It is not surprising to me anymore. When I got the invitation, I have assessed you severally even in your community. You were able to convince me about your aims and goals and I wish you the best. Please remember those of us that helped get you there when you do".

PoliticsRevealed: What Uyo People Did To Sowore During His Campaign by Success100(op): 7:46am On Dec 19, 2018
Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has taken his campaign to Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

Addressing a crowd at The Plaza in Uyo on Monday, Sowore urged the people of Uyo and Nigerians not to vote for those who have destroyed the country and now parade themselves as the “messiah”.

Speaking on the need to vote out leaders who don’t have the best interest of the country at heart, Sowore said: “It is time to vote for the right candidate and to stop voting for ancestors interested in ruling Nigeria forever. It is time for young people with fresh ideas to rule this country. We are tired of old people who are recycling themselves. They have governed this country for 58 years.

“They’ve given ignorance instead of education; sickness instead of health; unemployment in place of jobs; poverty in place of wealth. I’m standing in front of you with capability, full of intellectuality, character and integrity. I’m not one of them who steal.”

Speaking further, Sowore, who is also the publisher of SaharaReporters, said the old politicians were able to capture the votes of people over the past years by giving them stipends during campaign and they believe it’s not time to be liberated. He implored then to say ‘no’ to vote-buying this time.

Politics‘Reject N-Power, Trader-Moni For Jobs In NNPC, CBN’ by Success100(op): 9:55am On Nov 27, 2018
The Presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has urged Nigerians to reject the N-Power and Trader Moni of All Progressives Congress (APC) for jobs in better sectors in the country. Sowore lamented that while politicians reserve jobs in Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) among others for their children and relatives, they are going about distributing Trader-Moni to the masses.

“It is time for the masses to get jobs not through N-power but in NNPC and CBN,” he charged when he arrived the country from the U.S.

“These jobs should not be reserved for the children of politicians while Trader-Moni is reserved for your mothers and brothers.”

Sowore posited that the country would be a better place for all if its leaders had the interest of the people at heart, adding that it was time to hand over the baton of leadership to those with vision.

He noted, “It is time to take this country from those who have destroyed it. As we know, Nigerians are tired of the same old set of people who play politics of bitterness. As a revolutionary movement and a political party, we are determined to take this country from those who have destroyed Nigeria and give it back to people who are ready to make a success of the future of Nigeria. It is not by accident that people who are leading our movement are the young people of Nigeria, who have been left behind by the legacy political parties. Whether they are PDP or APC, we are putting an end to their reign come next year.”

According to him, the current crop of politicians has proven to be deficient in all spheres, hence the need for the change of governance, saying the country is in dire need of leaders who have understanding and practical approach to the many challenges it is facing.

“We cannot continue to vote people who continue to spend the country’s money on medical trips abroad because there are tired and ought to have retired, he stated. “They cannot continue to manage the affairs of the country for another four years. Some people are even saying we should wait for another four years, but I am sorry, we don’t have four more years to wait. In fact, we should have done this four years ago, and by now, be talking about second tenure. Since we didn’t do so last time, now is the time to retire Buhari back to Daura. Now is the time to retire Atiku, who is supposed to be a retired custom officer. It is time for him to go back to his village as well.”

He lamented that Buhari’s government could not meet the demands of N30, 000 minimum wage while they earn huge sums of money from tax-payers.

“You can imagine, the people who are saying they cannot pay the N30, 000 minimum wags are earning N14 million per annum. If you earn N30, 000 per month, you have needed to work for 35 years to earn N14 million. Their children are going to school abroad with our own money. It is time to demand our rights; enough is enough!”

Even the “best” do not win elections in advanced countries just by being best. Your best is demonstrated in your ability to network and build relationships and partnerships with people and convince them about your abilities to lead.

Furthermore, you need to contest from a party which has grassroots support, many people just vote party without knowing the candidates.

It takes time, it’s not built one year to the election, so Sowore should continue, but this time, the man on streets of Adamawa or Enugu or Zamfara May seldom know Sowore or his party
Sowore has visited 32 states in the country.

Omoyele Sowore, a presidential aspirant, recently held meetings with herdsmen and farmers in Taraba and Adamawa states.
