The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai, has revealed that the Defence Headquarters did not declare the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist organisation in Nigeria. However, the latest twist is coming on the heels of the recent declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organisation by the army.
Buratai, who spoke while officially launching the Operation Python Dance 2 in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state in the evening of Monday, September 18, also said the Federal Government took the right steps to contain IPOB.
He further defended the action of the military saying:“You have to get it very clear. First of all, what the Defence Headquarters did was to make pronouncement. It wasn’t a declaration per se
“But this has given room for the right step to be taken. I think the government is doing the right thing
“It is not that we are overstepping our bounds. We are still within the limits.
“And I ensure you that what the military said was to set the ball rolling and to bring the awareness to the public that this is what this organization is all about. I’m happy that the government has done the right thing right now.”
He assured the people of the southeast that the security operatives would follow the rule of law and rules of engagement in carrying out the Exercise Egwu Eke 2.
Further speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Governor David Umahi, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe, Buratai said the operation was meant to help meet the security need of the country.
“The army have taken into cognizance the security of the people in deployment of it’s personnel for the operation.
“The army is very sensitive to the cultural norms of the people and will abide by all the rules of engagement and code of conduct that have been laid down which is quite in tandem with the Constitution,”he said.
He added that some of the activities of the exercise would include patrols, indoor battle exercises, civil-military cooperation activities like medical outreach, sanitation, donation of books to schools and others
He pleaded for the people’s understanding.

There is this question which one may not be so sure of its answer, and that is : will Biafra really have this referendum looking at the situation of everything.
Prior to Director Nnamdi Kanu being arrested, not so many gave in to the Biafra thing - it was a joke to many. When he got arrested, THE MOVEMENT GAINED MASSIVE POPULARITY AND STILL HAVING GROWING MEMBERSHIP EVERYDAY. Never a week passes without one reading or hearing Biafra or IPOB, Secession etc. But even at its popularity and growing membership, there is a thing we must take note of : THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SEEM NOT TO BE INTERESTED IN THE BIAFRA MOVEMENT (I stand to be corrected though). Based on what i know, i think it is the international communiry that will fasttrack this sacession but they dont seem to be involved. Thus the uncertainty of what maybe, is justifiable atleast to some reasonable extent. One knows not if really this thing will come to fruition as it APPEARS,, or if it isn't going to happen as it APPEARS also. So, guys what do you think ? Please let's respond with facts.

You did the right thing by letting her know you can't be in a relationship with her b/c she's engaged to someone else. Don't do anything or tell her anything further than what you've already told her b/c you would be instigating things then. As long as she's engaged to the guy, you have no business starting a romantic relationship with her b/c that means she has already made her choice. She should sort herself out if she's confused. If you were the other guy you wouldn't be pleased knowing your fiancee's seeing someone else.

Pressing Issue. I have a very close friend who is a female. We were so so close that she visits me everyday in my hostel befor goin home. some weeks bk, she told me she had feelings for me and that in order for her nt to do anytin funny wen we ar alone, we should reduce d time we see. We both agreed that it wasn't right n possible for us to hav a relationship cos she is engaged already and has a son for d guy and secondly, I Dnt think I am ready for a relationship with her. I was advised to sit her down and let her know it was an obsession she was havin n not love. That I did. But guess what, since dt period I told her that we hav been havin problems here and there - little things that wouldn't lead to sumtin big now leads to Sth big. Excuses ar nw poppin up wspecially frm her dt I am avoidin her and that made her say sum things dt normally I don't think she would, goin by our closeness. Now she and I no longer call or even talk to each other though normally I didn't use to call, she does. I figure out I should just let her be, that is give her space but I want to be sure that's d right move seein that I hav askd her befor wat d problem is and she was sayin dt I was ignorin her which ofcourse is nt true cos she couldn't giv any tangible occurence dt made her draw her conclusion..... The federal government, headed by President Muhammadu Buhari, finally succumbed to pressure and announced the removal in all of its services
The Nigerian government has reportedly stopped the dichotomy between holders of university degrees and Higher National Diploma (HND).
This regularization that comes after many years of agitation, is now to be implemented in all government services.
Channels Television reports that the decision was reached after a meeting of the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Board (CDFIPB) and chaired by the minister of interior, retired Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Dambazau.

“The board has directed that all officers with HND to be upgraded to COMPASS 08, which is the salary Grade Level for holders of degree certificates at entry point.
“While the nomenclature for the HND holders will start with the rank of Senior Inspector, the Degree holders are with the rank of Assistant Superintendent II,”a statement from the permanent secretary of the ministry, Abubakar Magaji, said.
NAIJ.comlearnt that the board also approved the commencement of the 2017 promotion exercise for all the services and that this would commence with effect from July 17.
The report further said the establishment of the Institute of Domestic Security was also approved by the board to boost internal security mechanism in the country.
The federal government also approved a re-organisation of the Nigeria Immigration Service saying this was in line with the provision of the act that set it up.
The report quoted the minister as saying the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration places a high premium on the welfare of its workers.
He urged the workers to show their appreciation by improving on their performances and dedication to duty.
NAIJ.comearlier reported that the degrees acquired at universities, polytechnics and colleges would be treated as of equal importance and the Senate committee on tertiary education is currently working on it.

The chairman of the committee, Sen Binta Garba, commented on the process in Abuja saying:"Again what we are doing as a committee on tertiary institution; we are trying to come out with a conference on legislative agenda on education.
We are trying to look at all other summits on education, trying to look at policies of government on education and trying to see how we can have a balance."
