Don't worry, this is very easy to straighten out. If you just got the approval letter a couple of days ago, there's still plenty of time. NVC knows Abuja doesn't do K visas, so they'll likely contact you soon and let you know that these cases are handled in Lagos. You can contact them at any time and ask them to have the case handled in the country where your fiance is, too; or, if the case is sent to us and you decide at that point to have it handled elsewhere, we can forward it to that post. All will be well.

VisaOfficer: Greetings! Abuja does not process fiance cases. Only Lagos has an Immigrant Visa Unit.

If your fiance lives in Europe and uses a European address, the case may not be a Lagos case at all -- it may be handled by the Embassy or Consulate where you fiance lives. It all depends what address you asked the National Visa Center to use. If you have a case number and the first three letters aren't LGS, the case isn't a Lagos case.

Thanks VO for your immediate response i really appreciate...I would like to know if the US embassy in Abuja handles Fiancee visas because thats where i wrote down for his interviews?Inorder words i called the US embassy in Abuja and someone told me they dont handle K1 VISAS.Please i would like to verify from you.
Secondly my fiancee dosent stay in Nigeria he lives in Europe,i would like to know if the embassy would contact and send him all the necessary package in europe where he lives because his address was written on the first forms i send to USCIS.THANKS

andrewozed: I met this young pretty lady in my church and she is intelligent and everything I want in a woman. I recently asked her to date me which she agreed to and I want to propse for marriage immeditely because I don't want a long relationship. But the problem is she is yoruba and during interraction with my friends they adviced me that I can go ahead if I really love her but I should bear in mind the following issues perculiar to yoruba women:
1. A married yoruba lady will eventually have a younger boyfriend outside m
2. A yoruba married lady that can afford it will purchase properties and build houses without the husband's knowledge or approval.
3. A yoruba married lady doesn't like cooking for her husband or children, they prefer buying food outside for the husband and children to eat and even when they cook their food is usually stew based. Eg yam and stew, amala, ewedu and stew, egusi soup mixed with stew, etc

Please I need your response, are these things true? Because these things are taboo in my state where I come from. I need to be sure se won't keep extra marital affairs after we get m
arried for long, though she is educated.

Vicjustice: As a "fiance", his visa application will be treated as one of privilege, and not one with rights: which means, you can not exercise your full citizenship rights to demand that he be given a visa. But it would be a different thing if he is your spouse.
I recommend that you do your registry because you have to be legally (not traditionally) married before he can apply for a visa as your spouse. And in the mean time, it will be wise for both of you to maintain communications and keep record of your correspondences with healthy relationship: you would need them to prove that your relationship is one that is credible and is sustained.
