A friend’s friend applied for drop box and was called for interview last month but was denied due to the fact that her bill wasn’t up to $10k. This will be her 3rd child. I just felt for the lady. God help us with this new rules at the embassy

you are right but you can also pay online which I advise since it is working now. I have heard of people that had it rough because their cards did not work at POE. You may want to have a US based card to be sure.

Ok. What’s the website for the payment please?

Good day house. Please I’m confused with this whole visa in arrival thing. Thought we are just meant to send an email with baby’s details and a confirmation wil be sent back. Then we pay in Nigeria upon arrival. Is there another way someone is meant to do it?

Hi all, please for mamas that gave birth in Chicago, can a notary be signed by any notary lawyer or must it be at the embassy? Thank you

Maryland is expensive no matter the county you use.. Prince Georges, Montgomery, Silver spring, Baltimore, College park, Greenbelt, even Takoma park. But if you will try out the clinics the Latinos use (will not advice that thou)

Best of luck..when u get an affordable one kindly let us know..

I won’t even advise anyone I know to go to Maryland. I used Dr chaudray as well in 2015. Wasn’t impressed with his services. He just made me waste money here and there. Plus the hospital he used Prince George’s county was also expensive. According to him I would pay 4500 for vaginal delivery. I ended up paying about 12k in all for vaginal delivery minus doctor’s fee and I spent 2 days in the hospital. I kept getting different bills for different things I didn’t understand. I’d always tell everyone I know just to avoid Maryland if your looking for cheap health care.

Plz guyz is it particularly necessary for my wife and child to at least travel to a neighbouring country e.g Ghana to disvirgin their passport before proceeding for the interview in Nov. I (the husband ) have been out of d country before once.. I.e. to Kenya. Plz I need to know.this is the first time we are applying for US visa and shes going for child delivering and I am going for a tour with d child for a month with her. We applied for B1/B2

I doubt if it’s necessary. I just feel all you need is prayer and favour from God. Traveling outside the country especially to an African Country doesn’t give assurance that you’ll be given a visa.

Hi all, I'm new on nairaland, please I've been following the thread but can't really find information on affordable hospitals in Maryland or Washington dc area.
Please I will be very very grateful for any assistance

Please run away from Maryland. Talking from experience. Try Virginia since it’s close to Maryland

Hi, just ensure you don't enter through Chicago POE.

My two cents!

uote author=sucre26 post=70822872]Hi everyone, please I need your advice. I want to go to Chicago via Delta Airlines. There will be a stopover in Newyork. Is it possible for them to cancel your visa for this reason? Did your grandma eventual go for her visa interview or you moved it? We seem to be in same situation.

Well I don’t really know. I didn’t want to give it a trial and then backfire. She didn’t go for the interview. Want to fill another form for her and get a new date

I will suggest you leave first before she applies.

Even if the unexpected happens (the cancelling) you are already in and will finish the mission.

I know of a mother and child that applied through the child's school for a competition, the mother was put on administrative processing but the child was approved immediately, child had to travel as mother was still on administrative processing, mother was eventually refused and the very next day child's visa was revoked and cancelled.

All the best.

Wow. Thanks for this. Will wait till I leave before she goes. God bless you for the reply

Hi everyone. Please I really need help on this issue and advice. I have a valid medical visa. I had my 1st child in the usa and I want to go again to have my 2nd one in October. I’d like my grandma to go with me and her visa is next week. Is it advisable for her to go for interview while I’m still here or move the date forward and let her go for the interview when I’m there already. We are scared they might cancel my visa or it might affect me with the way they are doing anyhow these days. I’ll be giving her my data page and my daughter’s own as well.

Sorry about your experience at the POE. God is in control. Why did you mention aborting mission if one is using H stroger? I plan on using there

[ author=Brandagencies post=68130165]Hello everyone, I am in Chicago now and I MUST give back. It was a horrible experience but I got in.
I too+234 818 526 3222k the BA flight and arrived Chicago for 11;30.
CBP- good morning how are u and why are u here?
Me: good morning , vacation and to birth my baby.
CBP: Stands up to meet another officer, comes aback and says this way ma( secondary things☹️)
After sitting a while a middle aged woman calls me
CBP 2: madam, can I have confirmation that the hospital has accepted to treat u?
Me: stroger doesn’t give correspondence but here is the medical number opened for me it has my dates and my first appointment
CBP: that is not my job. What u have her is crap.
Me: Crap ke? Call first na!!( this point, I was already tired from the long journey)
CBP2: how much do u have
Me: 6900 in cash and 7000 In my wells card
CBP2: Go sit down, I’ll call u later.
Approximately 15mins after, she calls me in with a superior.
CBP: madam, these information u provided are not valid , we are sending u home.
Me: Home? Why? I can pay for these things( I begin analyse bla bla)
CBP: let me have ur phone and it’s password, please sit down.
Another 30mins after
CBP: you read nairaland?
Me: Yes
CBP: that nairaland devices u all, u should ask the us govt ur questions not a bunch of guessers
Me: I did contact the govt on a change of intent.
CBP: well, ure only allowed to birth here if Baby is high risk and ur doctor in Nigeria confirms it and u have an acceptance from a doctor here. You Nigerians just disgust me, coming here to quote what laws u don’t make. You are a burden to our govt. you just want to show off that ur baby has a passport:
Me: trying to defend myself
CBP: shut Up.
At this time, they had gone through all my phone emails and WhatsApp messages. Nothing to mail me with.
She comes back to ask for my contacts number and proceeds to call her. Requesting that my host sends me back because 6400 is not a reasonable fee to pay and I cannot afford it. My host insists that was the self pay package and she would use her insurance to cover if there are emergencies.
Me: very worried, already seeing them process travel docs for other pregnant women who have been turned back, some since yesterday. I had already started crying.
CBP : so madam, u will be going back home let me get approval from my superior.
10 mins later, please go get ur bags we need to check.
Me: with my big belle I run go carry luggage( I had just a cabin size box and a well wrapped ghana must go
CBP: all these clothes are too much ( biko which clothes)
Senior CBP patapata: madam, when was ur visa issued
Me: 2016
SCBP: it wasn’t given to birth
Me: yes, it was for a conference which I attended and I was not pregnant and then.
SCBP: ok ma, I will allow u into the USA but please show receipts on ur way out( she had a passport to junior CBP
Junior CBP: collects my passport and arrogantly stamps me in for 10weeks. Saying if I present a receipt less than 20k dollars on my way out, no visa will be resissued
Me: thank u ma.
CBP: Now very Angry, don’t thank me, looking at u disgusts me, just leave my sight before I puke.
Me: quickly carries my bag.
Moral :
1. It is now illegal to birth in USA if the birth can be handled in Nigeria( they showed me proof of that o)
2. Abort mission if ure using H Stroger.
3. Make sure u tell everyone u chat with that ure coming back
4. Hold cash of all the money u need.
5. Stay far from Ohare.

This is where I drop my pen.

@justwise, gurus in the house please I need your help and advise.my case is long and complicated. I already got my Uk visa for 6months. I used it the 1st time but had several issues at the point of entry due to the fact that I wasn’t straight forward with the officer(very long story). I was questioned, my pictures were taken and my finger prints before I was finally allowed to go in after spending about 7hrs at the airport. I used 3days and left London. I want to reapply soon for 2 years. Is it advisable to apply for the 2years or just 6months. I’m even scared to reapply again

The ECO erred in his/her judgement of your application, you were judged based on the assumption that you earn #60m a months which contradicts what you filled in the form that it is per annum, base on this you can write a strong worded letter to BDHC in lagos, copying their Sheffield office and asking for a review of your case.it is obvious that you are judged wrongly....but where you might suffer a defeat is the reference to not stating the source of your income.but in the real sense of it ,it has nothing to do with them, they are just looking for a way to deny you

Yes I believe the ECO just felt like denying me. I submitted a couple of evidence that shows that I have my own personal business which is doing good at the moment. I'll apply again later and I'll write a note with my application to address the error. Thanks for your input

The ECO may be more concerned about the stability of your business and if you will return back after your visit. My advise will be to first build up your immigration history by visiting other EU countries or USA then reapply in future.

I travel to Turkey at least 3 times in a year to buy my goods and i think it's an European country. I have a USA visa and I also have a child that's an American citizen. I stated all this in my application.

What evidence did you provide to support how you're making N6M a year after tax?

I submitted my sales receipts. I also submitted my shop rent receipt, tax card, CAC certificate. I also have several stamps on my passport which shows my frequent travels to Dubai and turkey where I purchase my goods and I stated that in my application

Hi everyone. I applied for a UK visa 2 weeks ago and I was denied. I have my own fashion boutique. In the form I stated that I earn N6,000,000 in a year. But in the refusal letter it was stated that I earn that in a month which I didn't state In my form. I'm confused at the moment. I submitted 3 different account statements with close to about 4million in the accounts. I've attatched the refusal letter and also the part of the form where I wrote the amount I earn in a year. Please what necessary steps do I need to take when reapplying? Thank you

Yes you have to mention those you claimed that are your family members.

Your husband can sponsor you but you still have to add your own bank statement and business details to support the source of money in your account

Thank you justwise.

Hello house. You guys are doing an amazing job helping people out. God bless you abundantly.
My case is a bit complicated. I applied for UK visa about 10years ago with my grandmother but I was denied reason was because they stayed there was no money in my grandmother's account. The person that also wrote an invite letter for us then was a family friend but we claimed that we were related.
Fast forward to 2013 I applied alone and I stated I was doing business but I didn't include my business certificate and other proof that I was into business so I was denied because of this. I also got an invite letter from another family friend who also claimed that she was my aunt and also a lawyer in the U.K. Who collected money from me then and wrote to the embassy that I was coming back.
Now I want to reapply but I don't want to be denied again. I'm married now with a child and my daughter is a us citizen. I also have enough proof that I run my own business. My shop receipts, business certificate. Please I'll need advice on how to go about reapplying for the visa. My sister in law will be inviting me over but she is a stay at home mom. She is married to a white British citizen. I would also like to know if I should state the 2 previous people I claimed were my family when I applied the previous times in the section that asks if I have people in the U.K. Is it also necessary for my husband to sponsor me? So sorry for the long post, needed to be as detailed as possible. Thank you

Hi everyone, Please I neee advice. I gave birth a year ago in Maryland but the hospital bill was way more than the expected amount i had. So I've been on a monthly payment plan since then. I also haven't returned back to the Usa since I got back. My visa will be expiring very soon. Is it advisable to apply for a new visa while still owing or just finish the payment before applying for an new one. Has this happened to anyone before? Thanks
