Damilola0147: Barrack Obama from Kenya became America president, Sunik from India was UK prime minister . The joke is on you
Nigeria is not American or the UK.
Nigeria is made up of hundreds of ethnic groups that have been in the Niger Area for thousands of years.
Even Americans were surprised that Nigeria selected the US presidential system, which they felt was unsuitable for a country made up of multiple nations.
Wickedfact: Someone born to an Igbo woman went to an Igbo state ruled by an Igbo man with an Igbo candidate as Presidential candidate only to declare that they will take over a Yoruba state.
You are an hypocritical fellow
Strangely, [Damilola0147:] cannot see the optics and lack of self-awareness in Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's behaviour. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour cannot even coherently speak the Yoruba native tongue. Yet, instead of building relationships with the local Yoruba people, who are still the majority within the state, he travels to a state in the SE, claiming he will take over Lagos for whom?
Quest7777: Nigerians are suffering because of combined ineptitude of Tinubu and Buhari. Tinubu's regime alone has seen fuel price rise from below ₦200 to over ₦1000.
Because of his selfish emilokan ambition, Tinubu packaged an incompetent Buhari for Nigerians and watched him crumble the Economy for 4years +another 4years, so that he would take his turn to rule.
Unfortunately, the damage Buhari did, is almost beyond repair and not something that can be remedied soon, definitely not by somebody like Tinubu.
The corruption at NNPC goes back to the 1980s when the refineries stopped working. OBJ was minister of petroleum for eight years, and not one refinery was working; the NNPC should have been closed down as it served no purpose. Had Nigeria been refining its crude oil, the government would have accumulated billions of dollars in debt from importing refined oil.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is not smart. He travels to Umuahia to claim that he will take over Lagos; the optics don't look right. Nigerians are fed up with Tinubu APC corruption but don't give them the ammunition to use the ethnic card.
The truth is that fuel prices must go up, and fuel subsidies are not sustainable within Nigeria's low productivity threshold. The solution is for Nigeria to diversify its economy so that Nigeria's income can improve.
SmartPolician: Why are Nigerian environments always so disgusting? If you see a Nigerian market, it always looks terrible. What do those men who tax sellers do with their taxes? Why can't they cement the market floor? Just imagine how the market will look when it rains.
The streets are always dirty with unkempt houses; I hate watching any YouTube skits from Nigeria with their filthy and disgusting environment. Basic street pavement is beyond the capability of Nigerian authorities.
Stealing food is a symptom of hunger and poverty. They should ask him to clean the street for more bread.
eldoradoxx: I have correctly predicted outcome of most elections in Nigeria, my feeling is telling me that this APC Senator Monday Okpebhole may win this election. There is plenty under current going on in Edo State beyond is seen in the news. Obaseki is not really loved by Edo people, several political mistakes that voters especially in the rural areas are waiting to pay back by voting APC.
Voting for the APC will be their greatest mistake.
said that I'm a ride for my motherfuckin' nigga (Tunechi!) Most likely I'm a die with my finger on the trigger I've been grindin outside all day with my niggas (And I ain't goin' in unless I'm with my nigga) My nigga, my nigga My nigga, my nigga (My motherfuckin' niggas!) My nigga, my nigga (My nigga, my nigga) My nigga, my nigga
A black fool calling himself a nigga. A racist word
isArray: It's insane how political discussions are already about next elections, not even how to get the current administration to work.
Current administration playbook seems to be working fine: they get their followers to attack other political parties, so no matter how the hardship gets the people will fight themselves and forget about the government 😂
This administration cannot work. If the opposition parties are serious, they should start impeachment proceedings now.
Never underestimate the power of insane people in large numbers. They can vote for him again.
8.9 million Nigerians voted for Tinubu in 2023 out of a registered electorate 97 million. 67% of Tinubu support came from the North. Tinubu will be bribing the North for their support.
senatordave1: Oga,it is better for a group of people to make a decision than one person afterall two heads are better
I am sorry to say this but Nigerians are not civilised for democracy.
How many Nigerians voted? 97 million registered to vote, 87 million Nigeria collated their ballot card, 29 million votes were counted and the president won on 8.9 million votes—less than 10% of the registered vote.
In any civilised country, the people should be on the street fighting for their mandate; instead, they go to church and mosque.
INNPC now has a debt of N150 Trillion; if this is true, the Tinubu government has mortgaged the country's future, which is the price of ignorant people supporting incompetent leaders.
In South Africa, the DA and other political parties collaborated to stop Zuma and EFF from forming a government because they were aware of Zuma's incompetence and corruption had he been part of any new government.
The failure of Nigerians and Nigerian elites to stop Tinubu will be regretted for a very long time.
senatordave1: oga it is up to the people to choose whether they want an unintelligent governor or not
Sometimes, people are not competent to make the right decisions, as we can witness across Nigeria. Incompetence is the first stage of corruption, and the current problem in Nigeria is directly linked to incompetent leadership supported by ignorant people.
This is what happens when incompetents are allowed to succeed.........
The man who had been chief engineer at South Africa’s state-owned passenger rail company has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for faking his qualifications.
Once hailed for his successful career, Daniel Mthimkhulu was head of engineering at the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) for five years - earning an annual salary of about 2.8m rand ($156,000; £119,000).
On his CV, the 49-year-old claimed to have had several mechanical engineering qualifications, including a degree from South Africa’s respected Witwatersrand University as well as a doctorate from a German university.
However, the court in Johannesburg heard that he had only completed his high-school education.
He was also at the forefront of a 600m rand deal to buy dozens of new trains from Spain, but they could not be used in South Africa as they were too high.
“The court took into account the seriousness and prevalence of fraud, the significant financial loss to Prasa and Mthimkhulu’s betrayal of his employer’s trust," Ms Mjonondwane said.
Justnation: He said the truth. You supported someone that said you should smash and grab the ballots box and here you are talking rubbish
They think democracy is only about voting.
If a political party selects an incompetent candidate, it is in the people's interest to protect them from that political party. Nigerians are not the most sophisticated people and can be easily swayed to support idiots due to poverty and stupidity.
Majesty7: What an undemocratic statement from a daft human. Him uttering such statement made him sound unintelligent. You can't handover? These guys are just too daft
What is the relevance of democracy when the option is an incompetent candidate?
Democracy does start and end at the election booth, but at the stage when a candidate is selected by a political party and the conduct of a political party to select a competent candidate.
It might be undemocratic, but if the potential candidate is flawed and limited, then undemocratic decisions are necessary. Had Nigerians stopped the transfer of power to the incompetent Buhari and Tinubu (APC), then the country would not be in freefall today. It was obvious that Buhari was incompetent, and Tinubu was a known criminal and a hopeless case.
koondog: Agbadox are very two-faced and deceitful people. They were voting for her to sabotage Chidimma while blaming South Africans. If you allow them, they would have voted this ekwikwi to represent us as our best, same way they voted for that thing in the villa. Everything about them is tribalism, not competence.
You are complaining about tribalism and incompetence, yet you are committing tribalism, and you have demonstrated incompetence.
These fools don't know that when you book your flight with your passport, your details are immediately transmitted to the Government via the Advance Passenger Processing and Interactive Advanced Passenger Interactive system.
Arrested Upon Landing in New York Olayeye was arrested by Secret Service agents on Aug. 13 upon arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. He has since been transferred from the Eastern District of New York to the District of Massachusetts jurisdiction for further court proceedings, the Massachusetts office said.
I completely agree with you that we need new faces, 100%, and that was why I have said that Atiku, Peter Obi, and Tinubu should step aside.
The reason is that the ruling party has failed, and the opposition has failed. Are you aware that in the House of Representatives, you have more opposition members than the ruling class?
I am saying you don’t just finish an election, and the first thing you start talking about is the next election. You consolidate and form alliances amongst yourselves to work together as the opposition. If all the opposition members in the House of Representatives had come together, they would have produced the speaker and the Vice.
Now what you said about subsidy, the three parties agreed that subsidy should go. The three parties did not say that subsidy should be removed irresponsibly, without plans, removed on the first day before a President sets up his cabinet, before a President even sits or makes any plans for the cushioning effect.
The fact that the combined opposition has more members in the NASS, yet the NASS has been rubber-stamping Tinubu's disastrous policies, is scary. We don't need to wait for 2027 before we enforce change
Hemanwel: This is UAE, a country Nigeria was 10 times better than in the 70s. What changed between that time and now is good leadership. UAE got it right with leadership, even though she practices monarchial system of government.
On the flip side, bad leadership has been the bane of our development here in Nigeria. We have said it so many occasions, so much that it's even become mere rhetorics to some people.
Only good leadership and accountability in all facet of governance are what can guarantee development. There are no two ways about it!
Nigeria was not better than Dubai in the 1970s. It was a mess in the 1970s, and because it had a small population, the pain of underdevelopment was that severe.
Notfogotten: When we say a toilet cleaner in USA, Canada, UK, Australia is better than the manger of zenith bank, what we mean is that the toilet cleaner will never suffer what you are currently suffering in Nigeria.
Example include:
A. A toilet cleaner will never queue for fuel. B. A toilet cleaner is less likely to be kidnapped in those countries C. A toilet cleaner has 24/7 electricity. D. A toilet cleaner has access to excellent Medicare. E. A toilet cleaner is less likely exposed to armed robbers F. A toilet cleaner eats better food and fruits than your bank manager. G A toilet cleaner has access to good amenities H. A toilet cleaner may have his children schooling for free in primary and high school I. A toilet cleaner has a longer live expectancy than your bank manager in Nigeria.
Stop looking abroad for salvation. Nigerians are always comparing their hard work and sacrifice to that of other nations. I am sure when millions of Nigerians were on the street protesting, you were one of the Nigerians saying that this was not my protest.
Bad governments don't change unless they are forced out. We waited for Buhari to stay in government for eight years when it was evident that he was clueless in the first six months. The same can be said of Tinubu's first day.
The Europeans and Americans fought for good governance and ensured that their governments were held accountable. How many Nigerian communities have called back their non-performing Senator or Representative?
Only a fool would believe Tinubu needed more time to get it right. Tinubu has bankrupted Nigeria, and if the NASS was competent, they should impeach him.
victory36: Osimhen doesn't seem to have good advisers. He could have taken the Chelsea offer and build from there. With the way this is going, he might be forgotten in 4 years
The Chelsea offer was a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Had he taken it, he would have been stuck with a $4 million per annum salary against his hefty $11 million with Napoli.
The Galatasaray deal is a straight-out loan deal between 2024 and 2025. In 2026, his contract with Napoli will end, so he is eating into the Napoli contract to the point that he can walk away.
Osihmen's only mistake was extending his contract with Napoli last year; that was a very poor decision that protected Napoli's assets but left him at the mercy of Napoli's owners.
pyyxxaro: Please Permit me to blame Tinubu for this , I said Please 🙏
This is a state-owned hospital.
The hospital Kehinde referred to is the 250-bed medical facility built by the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, in the Oke Mosan area.
VaginaAcademic: They deliberately asked for extra 5 million from al Alhi to chase them away thereby punishing osimhen
It is blatantly apparent the land and obligation to buy with Chelsea seems like a better deal for Napoli, considering Osihmen will be getting only $4 million a year from Chelsea; hence, the payment to Napoli will be in the range of over $100 million.
ivolt: While money can be replaced, time cannot be replaced especially in football where stars shine briefly and then goes dim.
It is not good for Osimhen to be in the bench for the next 2 seasons regardless of the wage he earns.
My friend, it is unsuitable for a man to lose his dignity and integrity. Osihmen made the right decision; there are consequences for being right.
Napoli agreed on a contract with Al Ahli for $80 million and then requested an extra $5 million, thereby ending the proposed transfer of Osihmen to Al Ahli. Then, they tried to force a loan plus obligation to buy deal with Chelsea, which I assumed was indirectly linked to Lukaku's transfer from Chelsea to Napoli.
He gets paid Napoli won't win Serie A He will play well for his country A desperate top club will come for him in January because nobody doubts his quality
The problems here are human - transfer fee, salary, pride, stubbornness - from both parties.
If he refuses to play for Napoli, he will not get paid.
The good news is that Osihmen has not said anything negative about Napoli, and the suggestion that he will not play for Napoli has come from the Napoli officials, not from Osihmen.
The bad news is that Oishment signed a three-year extension with Napoli last year, protecting Napoli's interests. This is poor judgment on Osihmen and Napoli because Napoli still has two years left of the contract, and that means that they owe him.
