MrBrownJay1:
you could even start begging in the streets and make decent money, but you shouldnt come here and call it a lucrative job... pushing a wheelbarrow in Brazil is NOT a lucrative job (just like your kitchen porter job wasnt either), thats just a menial job that will allow this man to pay his bills. i will even go further and say that most people who do such a job in Brazil are homeless people (or crackheads) looking for a quick buck, especially in Rio /SP...

this is not a dikc waving contest, so stop focussing on me and instead focus on the message. here it is again:" pushing a wheelbarrow in Brazil is NOT a lucrative job. FACT!!!!

as someone who lived in Brazil long enough, let me say it again.... pushing a wheel barrow in Brazil is not a lucrative job. let us top trying to feed lies to unfortunate brothats out there who will now dream of going to Brazil to push wheelbarrow. sadly, you people will believe any type of yeye nonsense that people write online!

yes it is, just like Australia is the west and/or Japan/China is the west... any top/richest economy on earth are the west (aka the type of rich countries with great economy abroad where people from poor countries dream of going to). here since you dont know about Brazil, let me help you:
Uncle Sofmen,

I am a Charter Engr(CEng) in the UK with a BSc in Physic and Beng Avionic from Queen Mary, University of London and an MSc in cybersecurity. I was a second-year student at the University of Ibadan and dropped out to "Japa" to the UK a very long time ago

When you land in an advanced country, you must pay your bills to survive, and the young man is telling all Nigerians that "Japa" is not a joke. You will have to start from the lowest job and work your way up , unless if you are lucky.

LUCRATIVE ko, LUKA MODRIC ni!
that certainly aint a lucrative job in Brazil, thats menial work that people do to survive... maybe lucrative to people in Africa converting Brazilian Reais to Naira in their heads.

just because someone earns money to survive in the west DOES NOT make that a lucrative job. its called survival, and everyone's gotta do something to survive.
When I left Nigeria to resettle in the UK, my first job was as a kitchen porter. I then worked as a packer in a warehouse and finally as a low-paying clerical officer while I completed a part-time BSc degree in Physics at the university. Within four years, I was a consultant in the aerospace industry as an aerospace engineer.

My point is that you can start low with an ambition that you can progress your career with hard work and training.

But I want that figure to be up to $1billion + per month. Cardoso you can do this.
Nigerians in the diaspora are doing this. The dollars are transferred to Nigerian banks, which pay the recipient in Naira and retain the dollars.

Give Nigeria in the diaspora the right to vote.

PoliticsRe: NNPC: We Are Selling Petrol At Half The Landing Cost — But It Is Not Subsidy by sulaak(m): 5:03pm On Aug 20, 2024
nairalanda1:
And the harsh truth is that if you want the power and petrol sector to work well...it needs profits.

That is what Niger, who is poorer than us, is doing. They have a refinery, they have domestic crude, and fuel there sells for N1400 per liter.

Ghana has two refineries, and a lot of crude, and fuel is around N1600 equivalent.

And it is not like people don't suffer there. They do.

You can disagree with me, but if you ran your business selling at a loss because YOU want to help the poor, you would be broke.

Kaduna state used to have shops that sold things at very cheap prices. The whole system collapsed in less than 2 years. NO profit, issues start.

Keep in mind that the basic things needed to build and operate and maintain your refinery and power station are built and made oversease...and those ones don't do it cheaply or for free.
Then why has Nigeria's government refused to remove subsidies because, unlike Ghana and Niger, Nigeria's economy is overdependent on cheap oil? Ghana has a well-developed electricity sector that depends on Hydro and Gas and can reach 90% of the population; most Nigerians rely on generators.

Remove oil subsidies, and within one year, you will remove the government.

nairalanda1:
When people lie, it is blody obvious

Shortfall is another word for subsidy, especially since the government pays off the shortfall.

But as we can see, government is struggling to pay the shortfall, and the result is the scarcity we see, since NNPC can't afford to import fuel again.

The way forward really is basically, GOVERNMENT LETS THE NNPC and everyone SELL FUEL AT N1300 and above per liter.

It's the only answer, otherwise, people, we will see the same mess and lying we have been seeing for generations. Infact, we have been TOLD REPEATEDLY since 1993, and especially in 2012, THAT THE SUBSIDY HAD TO GO.

IN 2012, GOVERNMENT even produced easy to understand propaganda adverts that explained the whole thing self. I remember, it woke me up. That and other comments.

But we have decieved ourselves into thinking that keeping subsidy is what protects us from inflation...meanwhile under subsidy, inflation is worsening. What else is new?

But most Nigerians from the ojota crowd to the obidents are only interested in using subsidy as a stick to beat the other side, while in their heart of hearts, they want fuel to sell at N40. It is cracy thinking, but there it is. Yesterday, people support one side, today, people support the other.

Most Nigerians live in sugarcandy land when it comes to subsidy. And if you tell them that it makes sense to sell petrol at a profit, the abuse starts.

Anyway, enough of playing with seven year olds who don't get basic capitalism.
The problem with removing fuel subsidies is that Nigeria's entire infrastructure depends on PMS and Diesel; generators, factories and transport all depend on subsidies fuel; once you remove the subsidy, the economy will come to a halt like it did last year. If the country were delivering 60,000 MW of electricity and had a mass transport system in railway, then the dependency on PMS would have been minimal .

PoliticsRe: $6.8 Billion Debt: We Are Not Owing Any International Oil Trader - NNPC by sulaak(m): 1:31am On Aug 19, 2024
They said that they don't owe $6.8bn because they owe $10 billion. An oil company that is in debt. I will scrap NNPC and allow the oil company to work directly with the CBN and Ministry of Petroleum

1. That NNPC Ltd. does not owe the sum of $6.8bn to any international trader(s). In the oil trading business, transactions are carried out on credit, and so it is normal to owe at one point or the other. But NNPC Ltd., through its subsidiary, NNPC Trading, has many open trade credit lines from several traders. The company is paying its obligations of related invoices on a first-in-first-out (FIFO) basis.

Tell us in clear terms what Buhari did in 1983-1985 that can never be repaired even by those who later removed him.

Name just 2 unrepairable decisions/policies he carried out during the 2 years stint.
The question is who replaced him with IBB, that introduced IMF SAP, or Abacha, that just stole money?

Opportunity must never be wasted; Nigeria has not been blessed. with good leaders and Buhari is one of the worst , he might end up being better than tinubu

So you mean because of that 2 years stint, Buhari told others not to build anything else? An almost 60 years old country using a 2 years leadership period to define why she hasn't grown?
Two years of bad decisions can have a long-term effect on any nation. Nigeria has not recovered from the 1967 decision to promulgate the unitary system of government that imposed a top-down approach to government over the regional bottom-up government.

The Cameron government's decision to support a referendum on Europe in 2007 had a detrimental effect on the UK economy in 2024.

NNPCL is the problem of the Nigerian oil industry. Those guys don't want us to refine our own crude and be self sufficient because their of greed and corruption. That's why they have allowed our refineries to deteriorate and are also trying to prevent dangote refinery from functioning.

How can someone be an enemy to the progress of his own father's land?

It's only a black man that can do that to his own land, his people and his country. Just look around the whole of Africa, blacks are the ones being used by the same people that see them as sub-humans to destroy their own land, kill their people, make way for foreigners to steal their natural resources and keep their people in abject poverty.

When we the black race allow development to take place in their land so that their people can prosper? It seems they've forgotten that outside the shores of Nigeria they'll always be referred to as someone from the 3rd world irrespective of the greedy and corrupt wealth they amass.

The black man is becoming a curse to himself and his land, and it's really very sad!
African Chiefs sold African slaves for 400 years until the White man had enough of buying African slaves and were forced to end slavery by force. Black African evolution is still based on Physiological Needs (Water, food, sex, shelter and clothing). We have evolved to the point of enlightenment and self -actualisation. The average African is only interested in survival and not innovation.

That is the role of the news media. They should be asking the question, where are farms and security? The same government claimed they had not bought any presidential jet until the French court sized them.

Does Ukraine have the supply chain and logistics to sustain this attack?

The logistics in Stalingrad and Kursk were one reason the Axis (Germany, Italy, and Hungary) lost the Second World War.

Russia can easily turn this into an advantage by attacking the Ukraine supply chain. At the same time, Russia can now convince their people that NATO intends to invade their country.

Igbo's are as poor as other ethnic groups in Nigeria. In the 1970s. There were crippled Igbo beggars and ex-solders who begged on the streets of Nigeria. It was not their fault but the lack of social welfare to support the needy.

There is nothing wrong in being proud of your ethnicity, but honesty and humility also help.
