PoliticsRe: FG Suspends Import Duties, Taxes On Essential Food Items To Address Hunger by sulaak(m): 2:46pm On Jul 30, 2024
Namaster:
The way Tinubu and his minions are SCRAMBLING helter-skelter to implement SENSIBLE policies at the prospect of a nationwide protest is a testament to how EVIL they are.

They had the means to ALLEVIATE the pain and suffering of Nigerians but they chose to do NOTHING!

Pure EVIL!

Now that the CONSEQUENCES of their evil ways is about to catch up to them, they are in PANIC mode.
Suspending import duties and taxes on essential food items is not sensible. A sensible solution is to support farmers and local manufacturers in meeting Nigeria's needs. Instead of sending soldiers to prevent the protest, send soldiers to protect local farmers.

Once the importation of food starts, it will never end. That is how the importation of PMS started; it was to cover the fixing of the refineries for a short term, and then the importers colluded with the refinery operator to keep the local refinery comatose why the share in the profit from PMS importation.

Nigeria spent $24 billion importing refined oil, a product that they can produce. The same $24 billion will build 6 x 5000 MW electric power plants, producing 30 GW of electricity, which can easily move Nigeria into industrialisation.

Once food importation starts, a self-interest group will develop to support food import at the expense of food production; then, the government has to provide limited foreign exchange for the importer. Finally, when food costs go up, the government will have to subsidise food imports.

Nigeria needs better leaders.

The previous administration was led by APC , the current government is APC, Mele Kyari and Olukayode Ariwoola were both appointed by Buhari, why are they still in government.

You don't need more than one year to realise that the Tinubu government is clueless.

What kind of government will implement fuel subsidy removal, floating the Naira(devaluation), and electricity subsidy removal all at once? Commonsense would state that the policy should have been gradual over a period of four years to manage the impact on the people.

🤣 If I speak about this government as an Igbo man, they will come me the child of hate.

When Buhari was the president, the North saw him as a saint and didn't participate in the Endsars protest as they perceived it to be a Southern agenda to overthrow the president.

The Yorubas who protested with the Igbos, later turned on the Igbos and accused them of trying to destroy their Lagos under the guise of protest.

Fast-forward to 2024, the North are now ready to protest against Tinubu. The Yorubas are seeing it as a threat to their brother, but somehow are changing the narrative and accusing the Igbos of masterminding the planned protest. President spokesperson accusing Peter Obi, and some even said it was agenda to release Nnamdi Kanu. The Igbos are still the problem 🤣

Even when we have made it clear we don't care about the government, they still want to drag us into the conversation
You are dumb; you are conflating Yoruba people with the corrupt Yoruba political elites; it is this tribal generalisation that has become the bane of some Igbo people. The masterminds of the protest against Tinubu are Yoruba, likes of Sowere and Human Rights Activist Deji Adeyanju.

Here is a debate between a Yoruba man that supports the protest, Lawyer Deji Adeyanju and an Igbo man that has collected Tinubu agbado

PoliticsRe: Mele Kyari Ask Dangote To Name Those Behind Fuel Blending Plant In Malta by sulaak(m): 9:41am On Jul 24, 2024
Mele Kyari and the head of NMDPRA CEO, Farouk Ahmed, should be sacked and investigated for corruption; the plant that they have an interest in via dummy companies is responsible for blending PMS for the Nigerian market. Nigeria exports clean fuel and import duty fuel.
The current dirty fuel saga has raised tension across major cities in Nigeria because the petrol distributed in the country contains high methanol. Recalling the tainted batch led to fuel scarcity, a consequent hike in prices, and distrust from the public.

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) said, “Methanol is a regular additive in petrol and is usually blended in an acceptable quantity.

It is believed that adding alcohols such as ethanol and methanol to petrol allows the fuel to combust more completely due to the presence of oxygen, which increases the combustion efficiency and reduces air pollution, as noted by a Science Direct article....Businessday

You just talk as if your tribes doesn't insult the Igbos.
I don't want to comment on Wole Soyinka matter. So you think what he does lately is right? And you expect people to pat him for his political views?
Igbos are the most sincere tribe in Nigeria and they truly practice one Nigeria.
Since you all have held leadership positions, how has the country developed?
Whether Peter Obi become president or not he will still excel in his business activities.
I started my response that all Nigerians insult each other.

I am not a hypocrite; I don't play the sole victim because we are all victims in this country called Nigeria. It's mainly Igbo who think that they are the only victims of Nigeria. Millions of Nigerians in the North are living in IDP camp but Igbos are the main victim of Nigeria.

What leadership have the Yoruba held? The Yoruba didn't vote for Tinubu and OBJ, yet they are expected to be responsible for their failure;

The Igbo are the first people to claim that the first coup wasn't an Igbo coup but then blame another ethnic group for corrupt Yoruba and Northern politicians who cheat and steal their way into political power.

If you want me to accept Tinubu as a Yoruba leader who represents all Yoruba people, then be prepared to accept that the Igbo leaders of the 1966 coup and Ironsi are responsible for destroying the political structure of Nigeria with the promulgation of the now-infamous "Decree No. 34", which abrogated the country's federal structure in exchange for a unitary one. It is a fair exchange.

hough Aguiyi-Ironsi tried to dispel that notion by courting the aggrieved ethnic groups through political appointments and patronage, his failure to punish the coup plotters and the promulgation of the now-infamous "Decree No. 34", which abrogated the country's federal structure in exchange for a unitary one, crystallized the conspiracy theory.

Igbos are not playing victim. The hatred and oppressive tendencies towards the Igbos is very real.
After the civil war, things have not changed. There is still bitterness in the land towards the Igbos.
Igbos only insult you if you insult them. How can Igbos be the aggressors? When they travel to different part of the country to do business.
The only people causing trouble are those that come to a community and don't invest there. It's easy for them to cause trouble and run away.
But Igbos have investment, so how will they then be causing trouble?
What other Nigerians don't understand about the Igbos is that they are very vocal and at times blow their trumpets a lot.
People in our society just love a situation everyone act like mumu.
Igbos are just like Israelites, they don't take nonsense.
Anyone that says Igbos are playing victim is just being mischievous in order to make the Igbos loss guard.
I grew up with Igbo in Ebute Metta East; Igbos are constantly insulting Yoruba, Hausa and Fulani. Some of us just let it ride, but the arrogance of Igbo in their assumption that they are better than others and will be the saviours of the country is nonsense.

Nigerians know how to get back at Igbos, and that is by not supporting Igbo's interests and ambitions.

When Igbo openly insult Soyinka, because he refuses to support PO and condemn Tinubu, which is his political right to do so, remember that come 2027, PO will be looking for support from the S West, and we will not forget the insults.

The foundation is faulty. I have observed that the major political parties always present the worst candidates.
Though, the last election Peter Obi was the better candidate. He's no saint, but he was willing to work. All enlighten people and youths were behind him. Do you know the kind of people he will eventually attract to the country? It would have been something great. But due to the hatred for an Igbo man many voted to spite others.
Same will happen to America, they will vote because someone is their race or fall for propaganda. Then after elections they start saying it was rigged.
If Yahaya Bello and Peter Obi contense presidential election, Yahaya Bello will win massively.
Peter Obi may be the better candidate out of an inferior pool of candidates. PO says the right thing about the country's production, corruption, etc. Still, his programme would mirror Tinubu's failed programme of removing oil subsidies and floating the Naira, which has proven to be a failed policy.

Igbo needs to stop playing the victim; Nigerians hate each other. I have experienced more hatred of Igbos towards Yoruba, Fulani and Hausa. Igbo,s continue to insult Yorubas, Hausa and Fulani and then wonder. At the same time, they refuse to support an Igbo presidential candidate. You can bully people into supporting PO, especially when you insult them.

The worst are those who intentionally elect incompetent people into power just because of tribe and religion.
Things will get better if each region manage themselves. Just like in middle east, there are some countries that support radicalism while others don't.
Imagine joining a radical people with none radical people how will they grow?
I doubt if things will change, people are getting more wicked as the day goes.
For example, fraternity was set up in higher institutions just for socialization and to fight for student rights. But it degenerated to a deadly situation.
It seems humans rather than making effort to be good are focus on who can be more wicked. All these reflect in how things work in the country.
Our mindset needs to change.
How many people voted in Nigeria? Nigeria usually don't vote due to the poor choice of candidate Buhari(Osinbanjo) vs Atiku (Peter Obi ) was a very poor choice in 2019, and Atiku vs Peter Obi vs Tinubu was another poor choice of presidential candidate
