10.2 million children needs your help...

Education / Africa Rural Educational Outreach (AREO 2019) by sundamonex(m): 9:00pm On Oct 21, 2019
So, I was thinking...
"What happens to fairly used children books, especially after the end of an academic year?"

We usually trash or stack them in the house with no plans whatsoever.
Meanwhile, about 10.5 million children in Nigeria do not have access to basic education, and many that do, lack basic educational materials.

How then do we bridge this gap?

The Africa Rural Educational Outreach (AREO) Book Bank Project is gathering fairly used or new books for children in primary and secondary schools.

We are concerned about underprivileged children and those in the rural areas accessing quality basic education.

So, instead of disposing those books your children, niblings, siblings, neighbours are done using, we would love to gather them and give to those who can’t afford to buy.

How then can you support this course?
• Support this course by telling somebody
• Share our posts, graphics and videos

• Tweet and retweet

We also need book donation centres, sponsors, partners, e.t.c.

We have volunteers in almost all states in Nigeria, therefore distance isn’t a barrier. See e-flyer for contacts.

Quality and sustainable education is possible. Donate a book today!
Let’s do this already.

Nairaland / General / Re: People Who Dont Show Their Anger More Dangerous Than Those Who Do, True/False? by sundamonex(m): 6:01pm On Sep 24, 2019
marvelous000:

very correct. I think I embody the innards of both. when i was in school, I had one recalcitrant fuckwit who was trying to coerce me into cultism, but i resisted, and he employed various provocative tactics to get me to capitulate; I mean the kind of provocation that make life a living misery, but I seethed my outburst with incredible restraint, because by proclivity, i seldom register an opinion in a case of crying need, not to talk of permitting my emotion the respite of expression.
He crossed the line of tolerance, when he assaulted my family and the only thing i hold dear-my mom.
I was murderously mad with blood in my eyes.
I went alone for him, and found him and his fellow cultist in a bar. I launched and dealt him a blow with my swod(the hausa type of swod) and had his arm dislodged with only flesh holding it. raised it the second time to slice his head off for the good of the world, but him and his ilk scampered for safety.
I went to school and pasted a note on the school wall; that I'm going to kill all of them whenever I find them. that was their end in that school, because I'm somewhat of an indigene and the indigenes were also crying for blood and ready to invade school if not for my diplomacy.

looking retrospectively, I'm more matured and manage my anger with stoicism, while approaching everything with stolidity. I very seldom register displeasure and never harbour acrimony. because i make excuse for people in advance. It makes me impervious to provocation. I only vent a little online; and it's strictly for sportgrin

I'm a teacher and I work in one of the high paying schools in Lagos by God's grace. I'm always sad each time I read what my colleagues are passing through in getting a good job. From my observation, I discovered that what most of us lack is access to information. We don't know what is trending in the sector and as such, we can't capitalise on it for our own advantage. At the moment, the importance of online training cannot be underestimated. Let's update our knowledge and skills during this holiday using different online platforms. Enroll for free online courses and get certified. You will be amazed at how your chances of getting a better school will increase.

Other trending issues in the sector is becoming IGCSE and Microsoft certified (MCE). MCE (Microsoft Certified Educator) certification is the real deal now! I am IGCSE certified and also I'm a MCE (glory to God). During this holiday period, I'm organizing an intensive Whatsapp training for those who want to become MCE before the next academic session. Apart from getting certified, you will become a better educator as you would have been successfully taking through 21st century teaching pedagogy and how you can inculcate into your learning activities the skills that will qualify our learners for their future jobs.

The first Whatsapp training will be free and the training cost will be XXXXX wink grin cool. I will supply you with every single material you need and walk you through to the end of the training materials.

Send me a PM if you are interested.
