Yujin:Why wasn't ibibio & ikwere made minister of the Eastern region? Even as Anang were given two slots Osadebe was a NCNC man and played opposition to AG in those years Awolowo was the premier of west. Just like Ibibio had their own party had played opposition to NCNC in the East. Do you want Awolowo to manufacture Igbo in AG to give ministries. In the Benin region, only Edos were members of AG In the Warri region, Only Ishekiris and Isoko were members of AG. |
Yujin:Ok Asaba 6 local government was under Benin division that had 4 ministry all under Edo And Warri which had 2 ministry under Ishekiri and Isoko. |
Maadoo:Your list looks distorted Oil was added after total was accounted for Why? |
Propaganda from ipob to attack Yorubas Well when I am ready I would attack Zik and Eastern region And no mod should block my post please. |
excanny:You did not See Ishekiri? |
Bendeco2020:Zik that ran away because he was informed about a coup Ojukwu that ran away after leading 3 million igbos to death only to contest to be the president of a country he wanted to separate from and ironically lost to a Yoruba man with a Fulani vp Kanu that boasted but ran away at the sight of a scopion dressed like prostitute just like his mentor Ojukwu. Apparently after leading a group of youth to their early grave. Brave has a different meaning in igbo land |
Bendeco2020:Are you sure you read the history of Nigerians conquest of Biafra Many Yorubas like Benjamin Adekunle swept away your Joke Biafra Army force Even, Obasanjo was the one that got your surrender letter after Ojukwu had run away dressed like a prostitute. Ordinary hunters defeated your Biafra army in Ore. |
Captainrambo2:Who mentored Zik? |
duncun:He updated the list |
successmatters:They are both Junior ministers There's always a main minister. |
maestroferddi:Go to school A junior minister is either called assistant minister or state minister |
maestroferddi:Call them whatever you want but know Igbos in delta today were never under delta or warri division.. They were always grouped as Edo |
successmatters:I am sure you know what a state ministry means? Ok let me help, State ministry means Junior ministry |
maestroferddi:Hope you have eyes ? 23 to 7 in west 5 main ministry and 2 junior 26 to 9 in the East 6 main ministry and 2 junior 23 igbos to 22 Yorubas The Delta igbo was under Edo sub region and Edo took all your slots |
successmatters:Hope you know what a state minister means? Go and check your list again |
maestroferddi:How many positions were given to non igbos in the East?. Take note Yorubas in the West had less ministry and more Yorubas than minorities. |
successmatters:Minister of Economic plan and development? Minister of Economic affairs? |
Odingo1:He wasn't building anything for himself We are talking about state projects |
Akwa Ibom then was under Cross River, Okpara built Cement factory and Obudu cattle ranch, established Rice farm in Ogoja, in Rivers Presidential Hotel, industrial estate was conceived and delivered in Trans Amadi area while the Alfa Plant for plywood production berthed on Eastern Region’s shores. Mecheiin factory and Palm plantation encourage farm settlements in the whole region
When I have a comprehensive list of industries built in the mid west, I would do this with you. |
successmatters:Minister of Labour Education and Justice are low ranking positions? |
successmatters:@ emboldened Ghana and Ivory coast economies were sustained by cocoa then and Nigeria was also a major producer then thanks to the west Ivory coast still depend on Cocoa today to sustain its economy. Ondo and Edo are very similar in terrain, so you should know what can be cultivated in Edo can also be cultivated in Ondo. What else again? |
Can you list what Awolowo built in Edo and Delta during western regional government
The Nigerian timber industry at Sapele, the United African Company erected what was once the largest factory unit in Africa, Giving them free education which positioned Delta and Edo to have the highest level of literacy in the South South today. |
You hear them claiming they built the tallest building in Ibadan, First TV station in Ibadan , Odua industrial estate, after milking Delta and Edo of their resources and left them with nothing. .
What were their major resources? In Nigeria today, the West has Five state minus lagos with almost twice the size of Delta and Edo in Landmass. Hence, it’s very obvious that the Yoruba half of the Western region produced a whole lot since Agriculture was our main export.. The Old east has Five states but old Eastern minorities now have twice the size of your region, And oh! your region is now land locked So who was milking who? |
b]Kindly read more during Eastern region Okpara called his political philosophy “pragmatic socialism” and indeed through an ingenious, well-choreographed, economic blueprint raised the bar of infrastructural development across the defunct Eastern Region which comprised Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers States. Dr. Okpara was a prudent manager of men and materials that made merit the hallmark of his leadership recruitment model. That was why he could accept Chief Okwulehie’s recommendation of the Obubra, Cross River State-born Dr. Samuel Imoke (1912-2015) for nomination as minister of education; it was for same reason that he had the presence of mind to bring late Chief Ogbuagu on board to head Eastern Nigeria Development Corporation (ENDC)…a regime of square pegs in square holes, that is! Dr. Okpara was, through the ENDC, establishing a Pepsi Cola Plant in Onitsha, a shoe industry and a textile mill were springing up in Owerri and Aba, Obodu cattle ranch in Cross River, Cement Factory in Cross River and Nkalagu, Port-Harcourt was not left out. It was within same dispensation that an industrial estate was conceived and delivered in Trans Amadi area while the Alfa Plant for plywood production berthed on Eastern Region’s shores. Mecheiin factory in Port Harcourt History also has it that it was the provision of abundant public utilities by Dr. Okpara’s administration that attracted both Michelin Tyre and Glass factory to the soil of Eastern Region. Those of us who were born in the 1970s met standard, well-paved roads, pipe-borne water flowing from taps in individual rural homes and uninterrupted power supply. What is more, Presidential Hotels Enugu and Port-Harcourt still stand tall today as some of the signature hospitality statements made during the era under review. Dr. Okpara’s legacy of aggressive industrialization and even development can further be seen in his establishment of Adapalm Ohaji in present-day Imo State and several farm settlements spread across the defunct region. Likewise, Modern Ceramics Industry and Golden Guinea Breweries Umuahia are also eloquent testaments of Dr. Okpara’s unmatched industrial revolution. And to think that his administration accomplished all these with proceeds from palm produce, one cannot but appreciate the genius in this man who served his people, chose not to serve self and family to the point of being unable, by election, to build a hut for himself and family in his ancestral home of Ohuhu, Umuahis in today’s Abia State.
Oh so he built Factories in Aba What happened to those he built elsewhere, did they disappear? |
successmatters:You obviously don't know what literate means Literate is the ability to read and write which is a skilled acquired by people it has nothing to do with intelligence. Please read before making a fool of yourself on a public forum. Further more, let us not get ahead of ourselves, as at the time mid-western region broke away from West. Cocoa was the main earner of foreign reserve and earner of revenue for the government. The major source of revenue from mid west was palm oil. Petrol was not a big thing then. Again, it’s not like Awolowo was developing the whole of Yoruba land while leaving the non Yorubas to suffer. He developed ibadan to the taste of a capital just like Easterners were developing Enugu, while the rest of Western region was developing at similar pace together with non Yoruba areas. The Edo's bone of contention has always been the comparisons between ibadan and Benin. They said they expected him to have made Benin the same way with ibadan.. Now tell me any city that was as developed as Enugu in the old Eastern region or state as developed as Abuja in today's Nigeria?
|
Nwanyiogwashi:Please go and play with toys or watch cartoon, this discourse is way above your intelligence level Thank you |
successmatters:Really, ever wondered why people in Delta and Benin are generally Educated with high literacy rate. Awolowo planted the seed because of his free Education was through out the west despite being in opposition. They accused him of spending in ibadan as if Awolowo himself is from ibadan and as if Edo didn't spend in Benin when they got their Midwestern region. Or is Okowa not spending money gotten from other parts of Delta in Asaba today? Is Nigerian government not spending in Abuja today? |
successmatters:No, it’s not new to most of us in the west But we don't just cry over spilt milk like the igbos They did what they felt would benefit them the most when they took the decision What has been done cannot be reversed. The so called Minorities are now ruling themselves in the South/South region and we wish them all the best of luck. |
successmatters:So Minister for mid west affairs isn't Isoko You didn't see Ishekiri on the list Our undoing was trusting the Edos to oversee the Midwest on our behalf. They ganged up to betray us. The Eastern list had no. Ikwere Ibibio Okrikas. Ogoni Many minorities in Cross River only Agbo a minority close to igbos was given a slot |
successmatters:Every single one of Edo major clans got an important position Justice, Labour and Education.. |
In the whole Western region Edo held three major ministry and were the first to bad mouth us when the time came for them to break away.. Not even every of Yoruba clan had only one major post each but every of three Edo major clan had a major and important position Ishan Bini Esanko |
successmatters:So who is holding Ministry of Justice, Labour and Education in the West? We even created a special ministry for minorities called the ministry mid west. |
