maestroferddi: You have zero business acumen...
A hotel is a business so has to be situated where it can remain viable.
Enugu and Port Harcourt for obvious reasons were the practical places where the investment could have been made in the 60s.
It was a house built by men from the East...It was condemned to be a house of wisdom and shrewdness... Calabar the fomer capital of Southern Nigeria with a port is a poor choice of building a hotel? My grandmother was born in calabar oh because her mom who my great grand ma was a trader. |

Bonessaw: At least the farmlands employed thousands of natives. From Ogoja cocoa plantations to Rivers palm plantation down to Obudu cattle ranch, Ikot Ekpene, Ikom etc, food remained in the table of people and the industrial might of the east brough Malaysian and Indonesians to our shore to shop for palm kernels in commercial quantity. Today, that same palm oil is feeding Malaysia while Nigeria made sure the east died agriculturally. Yes, they employed them to work on the Farm like black Americans, while igbos dined in the luxury hotels of Enugu and Port. Abi, they are the only ones good for farm work? |

gwafaeziokwu: Stick to the arguement and do not deviate. The question was wether the eastern government spread development across the Eastern region. You were schooled on that fact and now you want dogde by asking if establishing plantation was an achievement since every region has it. The question remain, if the Eastern region embarked on plantations as a way of boosting the economy of the eastern region, did each province get their share? Here below is your answer. What am I suppose to see here? That plantation were expanded or that other regions didn't expand their own plantations to increase revenue as well? Please bruv, always mention with something reasonable. Thanks |

It Is quite shameful that your mission here is to recruit those that will join you in hating the Igbos. Una go fail again insh'allah Which inferiority complex? See! you can delude yourself as much as you want with the hope that minorities in the South have short memories and would not remember how they had to travel for hours to Umahia, Enugu and Port to see civilization. or how they worked on your plantations like a slave in South America to fund your budget to build fancy building in Enugu, Aba and Port. Nonetheless, the moment you brought Yorubas into your fancy, you should know you are already fighting a loosing battle. The moment you believe your failures would be hidden by tagging Yorubas along, you have made a terrible mistake because we will continue to remind them how you took them for ride |

pazienza: Eastern region was created on 1939 with the capital at Enugu. Calabar was never the capital of Eastern region for once.
If Anything, Lagos displaced Calabar as the capital of Southern Nigeria when Southern protectorate (SE and SS) whose capital was in Calabar was merged with Lagos colony (SW) whose capital was in Lagos. After this merger in 1906, Calabar was displaced as the capital of Southern Nigeria, and it has remained so ever since then. @ emboldened is a terrible lie Southern Nigeria was not only limited to S/S and South West Majority of Ondo and some places in Yoruba land were always under southern Nigeria. Why was the second capital Umahia? Calabar, Yenogoa and rest were only good as farm lands? |

Politics › Re: Eastern Nigeria Development Commission (ENDC)projects by Sunshineg5(m): 3:46pm On May 22, 2020 |
pazienza: The good thing about ENDC projects is that they were usually privatized immediately after being set up. Probably because they have noticed the penchant of government managed institutions to die off.
The East had pragmatic leaders . Government has no business running businesses. They should only serve as regulatory bodies.
Immediately Golden Guinea brewery and PH Glass industry was set up, they were privatized. Same was done to the palm oil estates, hotel presidentials and other set ups. This was why the setups were efficient. Set up after the Midwest already separated from West and East were afraid they would soon be next and become land locked Meanwhile, why Porthacult? Why not Uyo, Yenogoa or Calabar? Is their land only good for plantations? |
