2BdBest, the iPhones are actually unlocked. I just checked. When they say connect to iTunes, they mean you should put the iPhone in "activation mode" then connect to iTunes to activate. Do the following to put your iPhones in activation mode. Note: Don't do this if your iPhone is already jailbroken. Backup the iPhones, Go to Settings, General, Reset, choose "Erase All contents and settings" then click "Erase iPhone". The iPhone will reboot and end up in "activation mode". Put in your local sim, connect to iTunes to activate. That's all. |

Find out if your iPhone comes with old bootrom or new bootrom. Download latest Redsn0w, put your iPhone in DFU mode. Launch Redsn0w, and you will see if your iPhone comes with old or new bootrom. If it comes with old bootrom, you can still ungrade to iOS 6.0.1 untethered. If not, you have to wait till there's an untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.0.1 Also how do know you will need 17k to unlock your iPhone officially. What network is your iPhone locked. Truth is; most iPhone 3G and 3Gs are locked to AT&T and can unlocked below 7,000 Naira. |

Rhukie: what I av is a list of shsh: iOS 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.1, 4.2.1r1, 4.3.3, 4.3.5, 5.0.1, 6.0.1Good, you can upgrade to iOS 5.0.1. You need iOS5.0.1 firmware, TinyUmbrella and iFaith to achieve that. So google and download TinyUmbrella, iFaith and iPhone 3Gs 5.0.1 firmware. |

Rhukie, check if there's on app called Cydia on your iPhone, if yes, then it's jailbroken. You can upgrade if you don't need to jailbreak provided your iPhone is factory unlocked. |

iPhone 3Gs users with factory Locked and New bootrom and still want to upgrade to iOS 6 by all means maybe because many apps require higher iOS version, can upgrade to iOS 6 with the help of sn0wbreeze and unlock their iPhone with "ultras0w" and "iOS 6 untrasn0w fixer" Note: You will have to deal with "tethered jailbreak." You may be like what's tethered jailbreak: Tethered means being basically "attached" to your computer in a way; you must boot your device by running code on it (via the dock connector) to make use of an exploit. Devices are tethered because there is one or more area where the device fails one or more signature check along the way due to the jailbreak. The device is able to boot up because there is a way to execute code via USB that allows you to bootstrap to a pwned (no signature check) iBSS, iBEC, or iBoot to finish the boot process. To boot tethered, you need to use the software which you used to jailbreak and click "boot tethered" |

At the moment, Apple is current signing iOS 4.1 and iOS 6.0.1 on iPhone 3Gs. Also there's no untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.0.1 except for iPhone 3Gs users with Old bootrom. Therefore; iPhone 3Gs users with factory Locked and old bootrom can upgrade to iOS 6.0.1 with the help of sn0wbreeze and unlock their iPhone with "ultras0w" and "iOS 6 untrasn0w fixer" iPhone 3Gs users with factory unlocked and old/new bootrom can upgrade to iOS 6.0.1 But make sure your iPhone baseband (Modem firmware) isn't 06.15.00 (iPad baseband). If it's on 06.15.00, you need to downgrade it with Redsn0w. |
