Story for the gods.

Tales by moonlight.

Once upon a time, time time........

Sincerely is our presidency this daft?

So, if Shekau was on the tarmac too with the Chadian President, Jonah will just get off the plane to hug him. DSS is definitely more clueless or inept than our Mandela of Otuoke.

We don suffer for this country.
Politics › Why President Jonathan Couldn’t Avoid Modu Sheriff In Chad – Presidential Aide by superstar1(op): 1:07am On Sep 13, 2014
After the dilemma the presidential delegation was allegedly thrown into when they arrived the Chadian capital and found that the former Borno State governor was not only in Chad but was also part of the Chadian President’s delegation that came to receive the president at the airport, more facts have emerged on why Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, the former governor of Borno State was in Ndjamena, Chad during the visit of President Jonathan to the country recently.

According to Saturday Vanguard’s investigations, Senator Modu Sheriff is deeply entrenched in the affairs of Nigeria’s north eastern neighbour more than it is publicly known to most Nigerians. According to a senior government official who was privy to the president’s trip to Chad, Senator Modu Sheriff is not only entrenched in the economic and political affairs of Chad he also exerts influence in the highest office of the land.

According to the official who declined to be named because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, ‘what many Nigerians do not know is that Senator Modu Sheriff is a personal friend of the Chadian president for over ten years. He is a regular visitor to the presidential Villa in N’Djamena who does not need any special security clearance to go into the official residence of the president of Chad. He was in Chad several days before the president went and he was not only part of President Idriss Deby’s delegation to receive the president but was also allowed access to the tarmac as any other top officials of that country.

Saturday Vanguard’s investigation revealed that Senator Sheriff’s influence in Chad stems from the fact that he has extensive investment in Chad and he is also treated with respect with the government and the people of Chad because of his popularity.
“What Nigerians don’t know is the fact that the decision to allow the former Borno governor to the airport and to the presidential waiting room at the airport was entirely that of the Chadian Government and its security services. The Nigerian delegation had nothing to do with that. He came with Chadian president as a friend who happened to be a Nigerian. President Jonathan needed the cooperation of the Chadian Government to block Boko Haram terrorists from using Chad as a launch base to attack Nigeria or as a route to bring in illegal weapons.

Even if he was not comfortable with being publicly identified with the former governor of Borno state because of recent Boko Haram controversy around him, it was not his decision to make to his host, who to bring with him to the airport. The only point where the Nigerian authority had powers to decide was at the bilateral security meeting between the two countries. It was purely a security matter and only the two presidents and their security chiefs were involved in the meetings. The assertion that the former governor of Borno state was part of the meeting between Nigeria and Chad to discuss about Boko Haram is completely wrong and incorrect”.

At the peak of the Boko Haram’s confrontation with security forces in 2009 which led to the death of its founder, Mallam Yusuf; Modu Sheriff’s name featured prominently as one of the sponsors of the sect which some people argued, outgrew his control. Even after he left office, Modu Sheriff remained on the radar as one person many Nigerians believe, rightly or other wise, as knowing more than he is willing to admit about the Boko Haram sect.

This perception was given further fillip earlier this year when an Australian security expert and negotiator, Stephen Davis pointedly accused Sheriff and former Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika of being major sponsors of the Boko Haram sect.

APContherun: At least they put food on the table at the end of the day unlike you people who must beg before you eat. Igbo may sell gala and pure water but they are a very proud and industrious people who dont depend on the crumbs that fall from other people's table unlike the tribes west of the Niger and north of the Benue.
Who is not now industrious?

if others had inept leadership, tax evading followership, crime infested and nature cursed land yours, will you have any where to be packing yourselves to in Young Shall Grow, like sardines.

why have you not replicated your rubbish on your God forsaken land. Leadership and lack of respect for others is lacking in the alaigbo's dictionary.

bunch of emotional whining and crying bush babies.

APContherun: And yet they come out tops in all indices of human development. Tell me one area of Nigerian life where Igbo lag behind.
Story for the gods.

Self illusion and delusion.

They are on top and they are still wandering all over Nigeria selling gala on the highway and leaving their eroded and cursed land in their thousands on a per second billing.

xharder: olu jacobs is not a yoruba man, he is edo man and does not identify himself as yoruba same as omotola ekinde. Most top actors with yoruba names are usually not pure yorubas if atall they are. they are mostly mid western yorubas (edo).
Omotola is from Ondo and Olu Jacobs is an Egba man from Abeokuta.

If you don't know, get informed and stop disgracing yourself by spewing thrash here.

NL is not your village square, where you can easily misinform people.

Hmmm...na una get mouth pass!
The only way omo y1bo can gba ijoba, is to organise bloody coup they are known for again.

An itshekiri will first become a political office holder on our soil, before any Igbo can even dream of it, talk less of daring it.

berem: Egbon, there's no doubt that Desmond Elliot is a confirm yoruba dude. Your grouse with him is that he didn't add "Sola" to his names all these while. I don't think it matters honestly. What matters now is for lagosians to give him all the support he needs.
The image he is projecting, is that of a fraudulent person.

How many yorubas, whether Muslim or xtian or traditional worshipper do not bear their yoruba names? It is due to this kind of avoidable controversies.

"Olusola" Desmond Elliot is a fraudster, who did not identify with the people he wanted to lead and now he added the Sola to boost his profile.

I will rather vote for Desmond Elliot than "Olusola " Desmond Elliot, even if he was going to turn water into wine or turn Lagos to Vegas.

At the end of the day, you have just one vote.
He has more stake in Lagos than you.
Period.
spend 100years in Lagos, you are a bloody foreigner and you can NEVER and I repeat NEVER hold political power on our soil.

Go back to your God forsaken and cursed soil and turn it around.

nzeBiddle: If we keep sacrificing competence on the altar of pre-mordial ties ie your tribes, religion etc (which we all know are 'biologically artificial') re: judging electoral candidates, then I'm afraid, mediocrity, just like is largely the case with the country's leaders today will continue to be the order of the day for many years to come. To think that many folks on here have conveniently avoided bringing up more salient matters such as his agenda, his antecedents, community involvement etc over the years and went straight to banter about whether he is 'lagosian enough', half this quarter that, igbo mum yoruba dad, cross-river heritage delta heritage and all that nonsense is appalling to say the least. Evidently with nairaland as a sample of a significant proportion of nigerian youths and their views, our political culture has barely moved an inch from what it was in the 50s, 60s and 70s -this in spite of the fact that today's nigerian youth is supposedly far more exposed and literate than what the case during those early post-colonial years. Sadly furthermore these same folks on here are the leaders, voices, opinionists and electorates of tommorow. Yet we keep complaining of failed leadership that has marred the nigerian space across-board throughout the post-independence era. The future looks bleak indeed. Smh
To some, the lack of worthy history and lack of canaan land-like ancestral land, makes them want to always advocate others to jettison their past for them.

Any competent whatsoever, should go back to either sambisa or gully erosion or oil land and turn it into dubai and not our forefathers land.

They should show us the 8th wonder of the world they have achieved on their soil before they can aspire to lead others. The blind is aspiring to lead the full sighted. What an aberration.

tupacshakur: Superstar1, gboju n be! Emi mo Desmond dele o! I know the guy reach house!

Na confirmed Yoruba Guy. We grew up in the same neighbourhood in Surulere. We used to call him Brother Shola back in the days. His younger brother is still a friend of mine and all his siblings bear Yoruba first names. I wondered and still wonder why he didn't bear his first name as a Movie person.

His late Dad was a confirmed Omo isale eko and his Mom, who is Delta igbo speaks Yoruba more than she does Igbo...
Omo iya, based on your explanation, no lele.

For one shinwere to come from Jupiter and be claiming Lagosian, na we go send them back into their gully erosion.

Tuale bro. One luv.

Collynzo17: He isn't a Lagosion by merely staying in Lagos, he is Lagosian by blood, has more stakes in the state than you Osun indigene can ever have.
Get that into your skull.
Lol. Get it into your vestigial brain that he is not a descendant of Odua, therefore he is stranger and foreigner. He does not have a stake in a single grain of Oduduwa's soil.

He was, he is and will forever be a foreigner.

shymexx: Lmao...superstar like Lupe with no fiasco. Are you following the Scottish referendum and how the Scots in Scotland have disowned the London Scots? grin These folks just label everything as tribalism and bigotry due to inbred ignorance. Protecting an identity has absolutely nothing to do with both.

Northern Ireland is in the UK, while Rep. Of Ireland is in a different country. Rory McIlroy, the golfer, who's from Northern Ireland, announced a few months ago that he's going to represent Rep. of Ireland, at the Olympics in Brazil 2016, and not Great Britain - because of his Irish identity. All hell didn't break loose because of that.

If the guy in question has never associated himself with his identity - I see no reason why people should cry foul if those from his group choose to dissociate themselves from him. He looks like a fraudster! Anyway, I don't understand why some Nigerians have two ENglish names, to be honest - the guy is an idi.ot. Desmond Elliot, ya know - fvcking slave! Even those who lost their identities are trying to get African names.
Shymexx my guy. It's been a while.

Dont mind those mophos.

Collynzo17: He is from Lagos, he is contesting there and has more stake in Lagos than you guys from Osun villages claiming Lagosians.
Get that?
Get it into your head, staying in Lagos does not make him an indigene. He is not the son of Oduduwa. Period and we will show him the way to his village.

That is what the constitution tells us. He will go to America, if he wants to contest in a no man's land.

An indigene of any hamlet in.Osun or Ondo or Ekiti or Oyo or yoruba speaking parts of kogi Kwara and edo has more stake in Lagos than any shidebere or shindinma or shindodo.
Politics › Re: Desmond Elliot To Contest For Lagos House Of Assembly by superstar1(m): 2:12pm On Sep 12, 2014
The guy should go to wherever he is from and contest there.

What is his father's name. What is his Oriki, what is his compound name. All that will tell how much of yoruba he is.

Nigeria is not America, that is a no man's land. A scottish is a Scottish, a Welsh is one and an irish will forever be, likewise an English.

He is from the east of the Niger and it should go back there to contest.

We are tribalistic and there is no apology to anybody's father.

ChinoElects: At least Aba is far far better than that largest city in Nigeria built with mud and rust.. cool
Largest city with semblance of civilization and the best you could utter about your garbage and dungeon of a state, is to be comparing it with somewhere else, when you are being starred in the face by clueless leadership.

The worst part of it is, the wise ones are tasking the perceived clueless govt and people like you are defending ineptitude and incompetency.

I expect better things from you Chino, leave tribalism aside.
