ngozievergreen: My friend, whatever economy in SW is not Yoruba owned, period. u shd be ashamed .
Have u asked urself y u have a less affluent population than the east.
Y u ppl are so non innovative and uncreative? How much of the IGR do yorubas contribute?
Y SE has more indigenous industries than SW? or are we going to be stuck in neocolonialism?
Y two states from SE alone are in the cashless policy.
Y anambra has the second largest population density?
U have been to SE in your dreams, the yorubas I have met in the east get amazed at the number of urban centers in anambra, and confesses Una no get better houses.
The whole of yorubaland has no single city! what a shame .
.
And Don't come here to spew trash, SE has the lowest FG investment. But the cash flow still surpases that of all Yoruba states put together.
If mediocre industries producing fake drugs and substandard goods are your dream industries. That is your dream and you are entitled to it.

In SW, we don't do such.

The same person that tells us, yorubas are not competitive and she is telling us the ones living in the east are telling her balderdash. They have cities and the most urbanised society before the arrival of colonialist don't. Keep spewing your idi0cy. I hope you have cleared your beard this early morning sha.?

ngozievergreen: As if yorubas have more diasporan population than igbos
According to Y1bos census board headed by Odimegwu?

You have 100% of Lagos population.

It is now, you have the higher percentage of diasporan population.

Ibos and make-believe lies and fallacies that gives them little courage and confidence over their complex.

DerideGull: Shut up your putrid loud mouth. Has SW ever conducted a coup to remove ordinary house prefect talk less of wedging a war?
Has SE ever fought for presidency without gun and succeeded - talkless of any war? Even with gun and 200cutlasses, you failed, how much more with pen and wisdom, which is visibly lacking. Lesson of the turenchi I just spoke is, wisdom is more powerful and potent than strength. Zik and Ojukwu learnt that the hard way.

When we were fighting our June 12 war, did your people not carried their bags and ran away from SW? Or you think confronting Northern Oligarchy and forcing them to surrender power is by bread and butter. Do you think, its that easy to bring the whole country down to her kneels without a single shot? if it was that easy, Obi would have been in Aso Rock by now.

The last time the Niger Delta guys hit atlas Cove and Yorubas sent a stong warning to them not to dare it again, did you ever see them on the way to Ore, talkless of Lagos after that? Even your cutlass army will never dare to face ore again till Jesus comes. Instead, they will rather be fighting towards cameroon.

Afam,

you have forgotten that it was the same Nigerians from every nook and cranny of this country that voted for GEJ on the premise of change and promise of a new beginning and departure from the old faces in the last general election. What happened between now and then, that the people that were enthusiastic about his presidency are suddenly holding him in either disdain or apathy? he simply betrayed people's trust and dashed their hopes.

No matter how powerful a cabal is, they need the people. If GEJ has been performing, he will still have the people and once you have the people, you don't need to worry yourself too much about what any cabal says. In a situation where the cabals are now the ones in tandem with the thoughts of the people, where do you expect people's loyalty to shift to? He had a golden chance to ride on the sentiment of his goodluck, to perform and forever have the loyalty of the people. If this was in place, 1million tinubus or objs or ibbs or kwankwanso can't stop him.

Alas, what are we seeing. Tsunami-causing monumental fraud breaking news; earthquake-causing corruption news and landslide-causing daylight robberies, that surpasses what the cabal we are even castigating ever did, are the order of the day. There is no major achievement that our dear president can point out to and say, this was my idea, i conceived it, initiated it and i have delivered it. What we keep seeing and hearing are economy indices on paper that does not translate to anything in naira and kobo for U and I.

Cabal or no cabal, he too is aiding the cabal to roast him. Sincerely, he lacks the political acumen, wealth of experience and superior intelligence to take on both the real and imaginary cabal and the worst part of it, he is losing the people on a daily basis and picking up some fights that are rubbishing him in the eyes of the public.

NB: Mr GEJ cannot take the full credit for revamping of NRC and privatisation of PHCN. These projects have been on for a while. Yes they were finally completed under him. He takes the credit for the completion, definitely not for the conception and execution mid-way. Let us see his own idea that he started and completed.

Malawian: all the billions they are spending at lagos ibadan road, why dont they use it to build the bridge? who and who is going to ibadan sef.?

why didnt lagos and oyo team up to build the road instead of the FG?
they dont build road, jeeeeeeeeez olodo, they construct road. The road is already in place. So maintenance or fixing is the right word.

atlwireles: Anybody expecting an artillery lined up side by side between Ijaws and the Nigerian army will be living in the 1940-50s. Any war between Nigeria and the Ijaw, will quickly spread across the whole SS zone. There is no way on earth Nigeria can win. Your air force will be useless, your navy cannot access 99% of the swampland landscape, your army of Yoruba/hausas will only be offered to Egbesu as items of thanks. Simply because of a terrain they cannot understand. Unlike the Ibos the SS will be well supplied with all kids of modern arms, the Ukraine, Chinese and Russian arms dealers will not have any problem getting paid. How is Nigeria going to finance this war? You think Shell, Chevron and Exxon will be operating when they are targeted with hit and run operations. Just look to Vietnam, Iraq and even Libya, you will understand why your Nigerian army has zero chance.

You people, should seek a peaceful division of this country, Nigeria CANNOT win a war in the Nigerdelta.
How will nigeria finance the war with 40bn US dollars reserve.

I still dey laff
Politics › Re: “Niger Bridge May Collapse Sooner Than Envisaged” by superstar1(m):
Policewoman: These yoruba kids making mouth here always refer to Lagos whenever siting any example. If i may ask, is it only in Lagos a former federal capital that there are bridges? If yes, then that means odua republic cannot survive without lagos. SS can do without PH and SE can also as well do without Onitsha.
if SS do without PH or SE do without Onitsha, how is that our cup of tea in SW. So, because SS and SE decided to do without something, we should also follow suit. Mba, ko joor mehnnnnnn. Where were your forefathers when ours were busy establishing Eko aka Lasgidi.

Where we are from, our parents and our culture, taught us not to always throw away our things to strangers, especially greedy and covetous ones. Idf your own parents taught you otherwise and your culture allows it, so help you God. Shikena. As your kid are growing up, you can teach them, their daddy's friend is also their daddy, so he is free to play with you, if that is your culture.

Ask Zik and Ojukwu, they will tell you, we don't follow multitudes.

ChinoElects:
Igbos are in Lagos because its no yorobar land but FG developed enclave. Igbos travel to Lagos to exploit the Port facilities put in place by FG and not by lazy yorobass. You cannot see Igbos going to those rural areas as ibadam, ado ekiti, oshogbo, abeokuta etc.

Still Igbos has highest number of Nigerians living in US and Canada. Traveling is part of education and Igbos has got it. Go figure

Below is a picture the capital of "sophisticated" Yorobarland and a city in the East. Can you deduce which is progressive and retrogressive? You yorobass are still living in the stone age. You guys should learn to travel to be informed.
2015 is around the corner. You will know who owns Lagos - whether is the ethnic group called yoruba or the ethnic group bearing FG.

We are waiting calculatedly. Be ready to change your name to Onasanya or Onasanmi if you really want to stay in lagos.

Sleep soundly till jan 2015, but afterwards, send your wives and kids to alaigbo. We are waiting.

Based on your point why is the SW waiting for the FG to fix the Lagos - Ibadan expressway? Abi are they lazy and incompetent?
SW states, championed by lagos, Oyo and Ogun, made a proposal to the clueless FG for them to fix the road. As usual, our almighty FG told us in their trunk A road and we should not touch it.

chukwudi44: Bros I live in lagos and I can categorically tell you that Yorubas are not up to 55% of lagos population.

The mistake people make is to keep counting state populations as if everyone there is going to vote for one party.lagos is the most cosmopolitan state in Nigeria and has far more non-indigenes than any other state.

I can bet you that GEj would not get anything less than 45% of the votes cast in lagos in 2015.
your 90% population of Lagos can only count, if we allow you to vote.

Copy that and write it down.

If you want to vote contrary to SW vote, i am assuring you, your best bet will be to do that in Orlu and not on a single soil of SW.
Politics › Re: Is It That GEJ Hates Igbos Or He's Incompetent? by superstar1(m):
^^^At bolded: Utter rubbish!

If the South West are less dependent on the centre than the South East, and could have built the 2nd Niger Bridge on their own if it was in their region.......if this is the case, then why didn't they rebuild the Lagos-Ibadan highway?; why didn't they offer to finance the planned Lagos-Ibadan high speed rail line?; why was MMIA left to rot until this administration started refurbishing it, and awarded contract for a brand new terminal?

Lagos is the nations centre of commerce and industry, and has been the cosmopolitan melting pot for ALL Nigeria for decades now, and hence has been able over the years to have a comparatively much better financial position than other states in the country; everything has been skewed in its favour for years, and it's only with this present administration that other regions/states are getting a look in! So don't yarn rubbish!
get your facts right.

The Odua states offered to re-surface Lagos -Ibadan, your FG declined stating it is a federal road. The Odua group, the pan yoruba SPV investment company owned by Odua states proposed to construct a fast train service from Ibadan to Lagos and Abeokuta to Lagos, the envious and clueless FG declined because only NRC have the constitution right to operate rail service in Nigeria.

MMA is a federal govt property. It cannot be repaired by odua states. Every kobo from there goes to FG. Why can't your mrs airport re-painting, ohhh sorry, re-modeling rather, do a proper job instead of wasting scarce resources to buy an inflated car that she will use to shop for her 4th husband.

Why did you not include other southern and northen minorities in your false equation or don't you know we have over 200 tribes whose votes by implication of your statements you think don't matter? If you want blood to flow let it start from a region that have never known war, you know like the rotational presidency let us rotate war zones starting with the SOUTH-WEST.
we had our war on June 12 and we won. Wars are not only by shooting. The wisdom to go to war without a shot being fired is the best and that we showed the world and we won.

The political cloud is still very murky and political naivety of some people on this thread is quite amazing.

However, with the state of things as at today in SW, GEJ cannot boast of 5% of SW's vote, that i am very sure of. Except some people are deceiving him. this is not about any party or religious affiliations. SW people are more particular about performance and GEJ has not delivered in anyway.

Against 2015, the choice of opposition.s candidate will play a major role. there are 2 scenarios.

1. A NW or NC candidate and SS VP candidate
2. A NW or NC candidate and SW VP candidate.

Scenario 1 can guarantee Northern vote, divide SS vote and SW will depend on the choice of candidate
Scenario 2 will outrightly guarantee northern and SW votes, leaving GEJ with only SS and SE.

For Scenario 1 to fail in SW, opposition must have chosen Buhari has candidate. Even the combo of Jesus and mohammed cannot sell him to SW. He is seen as a religious bigot, though he appears to be upright. That is all about perception, that a good PR can change overnight. Possible candidates are Lamido/Tambuwal/David Mark and Amaechi.

Scenario 2 is given, SW will be secured by opposition. Possible candidates are Lamido/Tambuwal/David mark and fashola

GEJ's advantage in the game is that, he is the sitting president. However, he should not think massive rigging will be overlooked in the north and SW. The PR of the president is poor and his performance is well below par.

If he does not want to turn this country to Somalia, he should use the next 365days to deliver on his campaign promises. Not all those economic jargons being spewed by Okonjo, that does not translate into anything for ordinary Nigerians. we are talking of tangible achievements. This will go along way in appealing the masses in SW and no matter the political inclination, the vote will be divided. He also need to re-build burnt bridges very fast, so as to divide vote., if not, he is a goner.

Mr. President also needs to demonstrate he is the man in charge by fighting corruption, by having the charisma and mien of a leader. If he is a good man that surrounded himself with wolves and psychophants, they can only assist him to rubbish him and his administration and by so doing, the masses will turn away from the more. The more the masses are against you, the more it becomes difficult to rig. Ask any politician. You only rig where you are popular.

He has the right to contest and he should be allowed to exercise his right.

The final straw that may spell doom for this country, is the rigging of 2015. Even, if GEJ loses, its dicey. Either way we are threading a very curvy and slippery path. He who has ear, let him take heed. Let the year 2014 be a year of preparation for any eventuality in 2015 for everybody. if North wins, SS and maybe SE will be seen has their booty, which might incite another militancy in SS. SW actually holds the ace.

Going head long with the northerners always come at a price. Boko haram is one them. Others will come in as the election time approaches. SW taking power from them was not easy, it came with a price. That is why they respect us and see us as partners. Anyone that will also take them on must be willing to pay the price to be able to command their respect.

Lastly, always remember, there are no permanent friends or foes in Nigerian politics that lacks any recognisable ideology. At times, the vote is to the highest bidder.
