I just finished watching the just-conducted ObiDatti session organized by Channels TV. I returned to Nairaland to see what the public perception of this interview is, and this got me terribly disappointed.

I'm rather shocked that a good number of us have thrown objectivity to the gutters. It's disappointing that people can't make arguments with objective points. They seem to resort to abuses and throwing all sorts of tantrums.

While we engage in tribalism, thieves and crooks continue to privatize our collective wealth. While we attack each other in every electioneering period, the wrong leaders attain power.

Why don't we engage in objective discussions? Why don't we make informed decisions for once? The president must not be my brother. He must not be from my region. We only need the most convincing candidate. This is why we must listen them, analyze their thoughts, and review their pasts.

I think Mr. Obi and his colleague did a great job tonight. I'm pleased with their responses on crucial national matters like education, security, health, among others. I'm particularly pleased with their view on the emigration of Nigerian professionals.

Politics is tiring. It's too bitter. Politicians and electorates can be irrational. People can see an obvious fact and make a different proclamation because of personal gains. Greed, I'd say.

Really, what's the way forward? When will we get to a point when people will market their candidates without constituting nuisances? When will people drop their greed and see things for what they are?

All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, says Igbos were migrating to Lagos because the Labour Party’s presidential flagbearer, Peter Obi, failed as governor to develop Anambra State.

“You will have to be labouring under a terrible delusion if you think he will do a better job for this nation than he did for Anambra State.

“What is there to be proud of after Obi left? Obi has nothing to be proud of. Instead Obi moved, left Anambra crying. He moved to Lagos,” Mr Tinubu said at a presidential rally in Ondo on Saturday.

The former Lagos State governor added that, “I’m indeed very sorry. Buyers beware. A salesman selling fake merchandise. Beware of people like Obi.

“The truth of the difference between my leadership and that of Mr Obi lies in one observation. Although Lagos is crowded because of the space left when they migrate to Lagos from Anambra,” Mr Tinubu said.


Speaking further, Mr Tinubu said, “It is a wicked parent like Obi given the opportunity to feed the children but hoard money on his hands when the children starve and go to bed hungry.

“That is Obi wickedness. It is true that the heartless governor will hoard money when there are hungry school children, roads and clinics are in disrepair.”


Popular for being a frugal administrator, Mr Obi anchors his campiagn on transforming Nigeria from a consumption to production country.


Last year, Mr Obi said that some Nigerians were urging Mr Tinubu to contest the presidency despite his apparent ailment because his doles out money.

In few weeks time, the former Anambra governor will contest the presidency against APC’s Bola Tinubu, PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and host of other candidates.

Archbishop Polycarp Sunday has predicted Bola Tinubu’s triumph at the 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party he co-founded in February 2013.

In his prediction at the weekend, Sunday said special intercessions “must be upheld against unknown masked foreign mercenaries”.

He said such agents were “proliferating through the length and breadth of Nigeria’s polity” ahead of the polls.

The bishop is the Founder of The Royal Church of God Worldwide (Royal City) in Minna and Abuja.

Sunday declared Tinubu “shall emerge victorious as the winner of the presidential election”.

The cleric stated that the former Lagos governor will “divinely and expressly manifest rare grace”.

The bishop said though Tinubu is not “born again”, he is “God’s instrument for true wealth, national heritage, potentials and opportunities”.

“He will be used by God to free all in exile as many Nigerians in diaspora shall be drawn home.

“These feats shall be recorded and achieved not for a fee, nor bribe or through any corrupt means”, Sunday added.
