In recent times those against Obi presidency seem to have caved in about the threat and chances of Obi in southern Nigeria particularly among the enlightened populace.
With the present situations of things generally it remains a mystery how someone wouldn't vote someone who promises something different and vote for someone who is a sprout of the present system..
Those who say north won't vote Obi are northern voters perpetual enemy of Obi? Do they have etched hatred for Obi or because he is Igbo? Are cost of living different in the north? Are they accustomed to hardships?
Anyone who says north won't vote Obi is indirectly calling north backwards. That is what it is. If you believe educated Yorubas , north central will vote Obi then why can't core north vote him? Such person is indirectly calling core north unforgiven and oblivious of contemporary events in the country.
Igbos have massively voted for politicians of northern extraction for example YarAdua and Atiku.
Let's stop whipping up sentiment of our ill past.

Peter Obi will win the 11 states of Southeast and South-south. He will get 25% in the whole Southwest states. If you doubt this, let's place 200k on it. I repeat again, Obi will get 25% in all Southwest states. That is a total of 17 states. Obi will win some and get 25% in the following states, Benue, Plateau, Nassarawa, Kwara, Niger state, Kogi, Kaduna, Taraba, Gombe etc. Obi will win Abuja and mind you that Abuja is also counted as a separate state. Now let's discuss maturely. Tell me any of the state I mentioned here that Obi won't get 25% and let's stake 200k on it. We can get Seun involved or we look for another credible person who is well known and his business or occupation and home address also known by all.

ADJOURNING roads to the Benin city centre popularly called Ring Road were taken over by heavy traffic as pensioners took over the city centre protesting the non-payment of their gratuities since they retired from active service.

Dressed in all-black attire, the senior citizens said the current administration did not continue the payment of their gratuities from 2012 when the last administration of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole stopped. The Oshiomhole government started the payment of gratuities from 1998 till 2012 at the time he left office in 2016.

Speaking on behalf of the protesters, Amadin Okoro said “We are aggrieved; a lot of us are dying. A lot of us are not well, many of them are supposed to go for operations, no money. Besides gratuity, local government retirees are owed arrears and their gratuities since 2008. But for the state, it has not been paid since 2012 till date.

“Our appeal to the governor is that he should pay us so that we can enjoy the fruits of our labour, which we suffered for 35 years. In fairness, we receive our pensions monthly but the crux of the matter is our gratuity.”

Another protester, Esther Ehigie said she retired in 2012 and that they were screened and invited to a meeting in 2017 where the authority for payment which is called yellow paper was collected from them but their money was not paid.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare said the government of Governor Godwin Obaseki has been paying the gratuities of all those who have retired since he became governor and that provision has already been made to clear the backlog.

He said: “We have gone very far to tackle the backlog, we made promises to the pensioners that they we will pay their arrears which we have done, we made promise that they will get their pensions as at when due, that we have done, the third leg of that is to clear the gratuity arrears, which is a huge sum of money, we have a plan in place which is coming to fruition, in the 2023 budget, we made provision to clear some of these gratuities and those pensioners have been put in batches so that they can be paid and very soon this will be affected. We implore our pensioners to exercise more patience and restraint while the issues are being sorted out.”

Why do you guys love attacking the Igbos? I haven't seen any post being directed to the northerners when they make jest of your candidate? First of all why will Apc present someone that is not sellable, why didn't they present Osibanjo? The west were in power for 8 years and Vp for almost 8 years and yet are still pushing to be president again? While you all accuse the Hausa-Fulani as power hungry people. I am of the belief that most of these monikers are run by foreigners to incite hatred amongst Nigerians. Majority of those monikers disguising as another tribe usually post meaningless things just to create unnecessary arguments. Nigerians should wise up and vote the right people. So you expect the easterners and other intelligent peace loving Nigerians to miss this opportunity of electing the best candidate in this Era? Why even use an Igbo moniker, if not for mischief and a way to deceive people you are Igbo? This election has exposed the true nature of those that keep disturbing everyone with one Nigeria slogan. And yet hatred is what is being mostly displayed. Awolowo was a great man. Leave him out this election. We can't vote in funny characters, the seat of the president is a serious business and not a comedy platform. Please vote wisely.
