Jakumo: Supreme Being you are right that there exists a blind, logic-defying expectation held by most Nigerians, that without any conscious effort on their part, God will step in to avert all disasters, provide wealth without labor and keep law enforcement off the trail of criminal "believers", just as long as their church donation subscription isn't allowed to lapse due to late payment. The prevalent "believer" mentality seems to be "Hey, I pay most of my check to Pastor DoRight, so he can fly about in a private jet, therefore, I can DEMAND what I want from God - no questions asked.

Personally, I have handed the steering wheel of my life to Ogun, the God of Iron, who will ensure that I suffer no crashes along life's highway, regardless of how recklessly I blunder along while drunk. Fortunately for me, old Ogun has no need for a private jet, and is content with my sacrificial offerings of a few mongrels now and then.
