bennyraz: are you from Egypt? Why defending the referee? The tackles we committed, did the Faso boys not commit the same? Our's got us yellow cards and theirs got them nothing, what do you about that? The yellow cards the referee was busy distributing for Nigeria only put fear into the players. They didn't tackle again cuz they were scared of getting red cards? Yet they would say Nigerian referee's are corrupt? Are African referee's not corrupt? How come African centre referee's don't make Fifa selection for world cup tourneys? Well, for the referee, i think he fixed the match for bookmakers and i think fifa should investigate not cafMate, what exactly is your point? Seriously. Because I struggled to put a sentence together (no offence). And for Christ's sake, I DIDN'T favour the referee. He was fair. The game itself was extremely rough. I just highlighted the difference(s) between ways referees officiate games based on several contexts. And, by the way, if Africa felt it had enough competent referees to officiate international games FIFA would recognise that. I have seen African referees preside over international games. By the way, I AM Nigerian and I always pray for luck to sway towards the Super Eagles. But the game in my opinion was square and fair. You're entitled to your opinion. |
Bloody hell! Some of our tackles were quite bad. Yes, the referee could have done better but this is ACN, not the Premier League or any other league on earth. Normally referees do overlook some tackles but considering the fact that most officials are very sensitive to the nature of the tournament and the physicality of the African game, they have no choice but to officiate in line with the expectations of the nations. The Ethopia-Zambia game sets an example. The goalkeeper's tackle warranted a straight red. On the contrary, a similar, if not worse tackle produced a yellow card to the goalkeeper who was the culprit (he ended the other player's career) at a World Cup tournament years ago. All I'm saying is different contexts warrant different practices and perspectives. Anyway, I blame those two defenders who slid past the ball when it was right in front of them - one of them could have either cleared the ball (or swallowed it for all I care)- leading to the equalizer. I mean, the ball was clearly spinning in front of them and they gave the goalscorer enough time to run up to the ball and shoot. And to think we actually scored an AMAZING goal. #pissed |
lillyveezy: 4 min extra time?tooo much ooConsidering the fouls and the harsh tackles I am surprised the referee didn't award 2 days of extra time! 4 minutes was decent enough. It's just a shame the last kick of the game resulted in our conceeding a goal. |
dessy002: Thank you once again and accept my apologies too.By the way i took down every bad comment i wrote about you. Those guys are not super at all..No worries mate. It's all good. I thought they were super and they'd have been extra super if they'd won the game but oh well. I'm just happy we're in the tournament this time because as much as the last ACN was extremely exciting it wasn't the most enjoyable without the Eagles' presence. And it's good to see new faces on the team too! |
lekkie073: so u two finally agreed on on one thing.......chicks. anyways.....Well, it takes humility to face up to offering an apology. Chicks you know...funny (I'll kill you if I wake up with t*ts tomorrow!!!) |
dessy002: Thank you.I agree with you,Nordic chicks are hot.I'm actually quite exhausted from all the madness between us so accept my apologies. Enjoy your time with the family. I'm off to find those Super Eagles for an explanation once I'm through with my ground rice and okra soup. Enjoy. |

Lucky you. I'm sure both kids and mum are beautiful. You know how hot Nordic chicks can be. |

dessy002: Lawal Kasali Diouf..Oook ![]() Meaning? You know what? Never mind. I was at the verge of pulling my hair out but I'd love to maintain my sanity. It's been a pleasure dessy002. I sincerely wish you well my online friend. PS: Not that it matters but thanks for advertising my topic from last year. Only today I've had about 5 comments. So thanks a bunch. All the best. Ciao! |
dessy002: Now this is the right way to comment, not by calling people fools. Good one..Awww... I'm touched. Lwkd? Please? Even I'm confused! Lwkd? Lkwd? Please just tell me what it means! ![]() |
dessy002: Stubborn goat.Remember you started this..Well, mnmeeeehhh!!!! Lkwd? Please? |
kettykin: when you stop hoping and praying fro the country you will end up Shopping and spraying Ammunition so be warnedSorry. I fail to believe that. Praying and hoping did not make the Arab spring uprising successful. The masses did. Yes, hoping and praying does help keep people motivated to seek change but they do not necessarily initiate such a thing like change. Good point though. Ps - I'm only trying to debate sensibly, not dismiss your comment entirely. |

dessy002: Lol..Funny dude..Well, that's a change! At least you find me funny. Hmmm... "Lkwd"? |
Jakumo: Supreme Being you are right that there exists a blind, logic-defying expectation held by most Nigerians, that without any conscious effort on their part, God will step in to avert all disasters, provide wealth without labor and keep law enforcement off the trail of criminal "believers", just as long as their church donation subscription isn't allowed to lapse due to late payment. The prevalent "believer" mentality seems to be "Hey, I pay most of my check to Pastor DoRight, so he can fly about in a private jet, therefore, I can DEMAND what I want from God - no questions asked.Very interesting comment. Really insightful. |
