"geeez, what are you girls still doing in there, we will be late for Mr. Banky's class" Rebecca called out as she put-on her shoes.

Lola and Luisa laughed aloud "we are here already ma'am"

Luisa and Lola had spent the weekend at Rebecca's place and have decided to attend Monday morning class from her place. they sleep at one another's house when they feel like and that has boost their friendship too.

"Lola is driving us to school today" Luisa said as she threw the key at her.

Luisa was presented a car on her twenty first birthday by her parents because she had made them proud both in her way of life and her academics.

Lola caught the keys and they were on their way to school. Its has become an habit for Luisa and soji to talk on phone every morning and night aside chatting to the extent that it got to a stage where Rebecca and Lola were persuading her to say yes when ever he asks her out or she should take the bold step herself.

25th of July is Soji's birthday. Luisa's Alarm beeped at exactly 12am to remind her though she has the date stick to her brain. Soji had planned to celebrate his silver Jubilee birthday alongside his last semester as an undergraduate. The day Soji had discussed his opinion on having a birthday party that year and that she would be by his side throughout that day until the party is over, she refused telling him she doesn't want people gossiping about their closeness.
After she had put a call through to wish him Happy birthday, she laughed at the thought of what Soji said to her on phone and then she slept afterwards.
25th of July came as a Friday which makes it easier for Soji to really have the party. She woke up to check her time table, she had a class 9-11am. She heard knocks on her door,she was already aware of who the visitors were, Becca and Lola. She lazily stood up to open the door lo and behold they were giggling as they came inside.

"its just 6:30am, you people no dey sleep?"she said to the duo who were just laughing at her.

"have you wished him happy birthday?" they chorused

"yes of course, what do you expect"

"and the party, will you attend?" Lola asked

"no girls, I don't want to go."

"come off it Luisa, its his day and you need to be there with him or you think we don't know he has feelings for you and the fact that you can't deny you're crushing on him too so let's storm the party, its gonna be fun you know" Becca said touching Luisa's chin.

"first things first, we have a class by 9am" luisa said as she went to freshen up"

If only she knew what's was in stock for her.

CHAPTER 3

He was sitting in the Gazebo, browsing on his laptop when he heard a hard knock on his gate, he wasn't expecting any visitor so he wondered who the person could be. He went to the gate but the sight of the lady he saw nauseated him. It was Funke.

"Soji do you think you are, why are you so full of yourself, you stopped replying my chats for the past 3 weeks" she stood outside the gate shouting.

Soji who was trying so much to avoid embarrassment pulled her into the compound and she continued her rants.

"Ever since you started going out with that LovePeddler you've changed, its been a year and half that you stopped being consistent in the relationship"

"Relationship? Did you just mention relationship? Listen lady, I don't remember asking you out, we've been friends for so long and as friends we will remain. Let me get this into your thick skull, I am not in any way romantically involved with you so cut that crap"

"Soji you are wicked" she bursted into tears and continued, "so after 3 years this is all you are going to say, I thought you are different from others"

"Funke" he called her name as he placed his hands on her shoulders "take a sit, and let me remind you if you have truly forgotten, you actually asked me out but I refused on the note that I don't want any relationship except friendship and you agreed. Indeed we were close and still close and this lady you that just tarnished her image before me is also a friend like you so don't be mistaken."

She wiped her face " I know you will never tell me the truth, this same discussion made you stop responding to my calls and chats"

"I stopped responding because you are too adamant, believe me, what I've told you is nothing but the truth. Have you not noticed you don't see me alone with her? Her friends are always together with us and most times its base on academics"

She apologized for not listening to him but deep down she's still not convinced.

"friends again?" she asked smiling
"of course" he said giving her a hug.

"Hi Luisa" Lola said, taking a sit beside her

"Welcome, where is Rebecca"

Rebecca and Lola are Luisa's Coursemates and friends, they had met at the department the day she went to her department to collect her receipts. They are both childhood friends that studied in the same primary school, secondary school and now the same tertiary institution. Rebecca is a beautiful and intelligent lady, selfless and hardworking that sees her academic as her primary obligation and other things as secondary. Lola on the other hand is selfish, gets angry at any slightest provocation. Brilliant but she's no match for her two friends, Reading is not her thing but she still manages to read when she sees her friends doing so. Her laziness most times upsets Luisa and wonder why she's stuck in her friendship with her. A lot of people envy this three friends.

Lola instead of reading alongside Luisa picked her phone from her bag and started browsing. Rebecca came in to the empty classroom where Luisa was reading with a past question in her hands saying they should all solve it together but to their utmost surprise Lola hissed and worked out on them. On her way out she bumped into soji and hissed at him too.

"what the h**k was that, were you girls quarreling or what?" he asked them.

"I only suggested we solve some questions in this question paper in preparation for our exams and she got upset" she replied him still wondering what came over her.

He collected the questions from her and helped them in solving them. Ever since Luisa's friendship with Soji began he has always been of help academically infact He's often seen walking with them especially Luisa.

CHAPTER 2

After the meal He noticed the change in her countenance and the silence so he decided to talk first.

"how was the meal?" he asked
"delicious, the lady who cooked is good" she said it not because she saw a lady there but she wanted to know who prepared such a sumptuous meal.
He laughed, "I cooked it. As u can see I live alone, no housemaid, no security guard, just me. Moreso, my mom trained me so well, we don't have spoilt brat in my house. Dad gave me this apartment because he has confidence in me taking good care of his 'good name' and the house. When he refused studying abroad, his dad decided to make his schooling in Nigeria a comfortable one by giving him a car and the key to the house.

"I don't think you know my full name" he said

"no, perhaps because we've not gotten enough chance to talk" she replied

"pardon my manners, My name is Soji Daniels the only son of Senator Bankole Daniels. I have two sisters, that makes us three, I'm the eldest"

"Senator Daniels?" she curiously asked
"yes"
"The same Senator Daniels in this our country?"
"yes of course, you don't seem to believe me" he stood and went to his study to bring out a photo album.

"sorry if I said that in an arrogant manner, I often don't let people know who I am" He handed her the photo album, after flipping through some pages she was convinced he wasn't lying to her.

"Why would someone like be studying in nigeria instead of abroad" she thought aloud

"I chose to stay here because I'm not better than other kids who study here"

"I may be new in this school but I've come to realized how important you are on this campus, perhaps because they know who you are"

He laughed and told her he is not a kind of person who blows his own trumpet and that aside his best friend no one else knew whom he really is. And that he is not a kind of guy that flirts, he doesn't make friends too.
It was Luisa's turn to talk about herself. She is Luisa Williams, twenty year old, the second out of four kids, a trained fashion designer and a very brilliant lady. Her parents are rich too. Their wealthiness didn't stop them from giving their children the best home training.

"you are the first person to know things about me in this school" she chuckled

She glanced at her wristwatch and noticed she should get going in other not to be late for her class. He dropped her at the school bus stop so that she could meet up for the class.

At 12:55pm she was already at the bus stop sitting on one of the benches waiting for her Lunch Host. She looked stunning breathtaking in a fitted lime green floral patterned chiffon button-down blouse and a pair of Denim pants, black ballerina flat shoe and a clutch bag. She wore her hair in bun that adorn her beautiful face. She was browsing on her phone when she heard the sound of a car, Soji's car. She raised her head and saw him coming towards her.

"Hello Miss"
"hey Soji you are almost on time" she chuckled

soji was looking so hot in a black roundneck T-shirt that fitter his muscular body and a figure-hugging jean pants. His defined wave haircut brought out the attractiveness of his extended goatee beard. Below his beautifully straight brows sat a pair of pure hazel pupil that are sheltered in an Almond shaped eyes an hawkish nose accompanied by prominent cheekbones.

He held out his hand to help her sit up from the bench and they headed to where his car was parked.
Luisa couldn't hide her amazement at the sight of the Mansion Soji lives in but stopped herself from questioning him.

"have your sit"
He went in to bring her a cup of chilled juice to drink while he set the table. He ushered her to the dinning table. She couldn't help but think that Soji is into some illegal business for him to be able to afford such a luxurious life. The sound of his phone ringing stopped her disgusting thoughts.
He rushed to pick his phone from where he had dropped it before heading to the kitchen earlier.

"hello boss, I've sent the package but I haven't gotten a reply" he said and hung up.

She became more scared with the conversation she had heard but was able to put on an infectious smile as Soji dished the meal. They both ate their food in silence.

Luisa was still in bed when her phone rang, it was 5:30am and she wondered who the caller could be, it was a number she doesn't have on phone she answered the call thinking it was Soji but it was a female voice telling her she has to be in school before 6:30am for the registration of a particular course because the registration ends that day. She thanked the caller and hung up, rushed to the bathroom to do the necessary things and she was ready for school by 6:15am, she got to prof Ige's office by 6:30am on the dot. Over hundred students are already there waiting for the man. Within the short period of time she had spent in that school she has come to know that Prof. Ige is a no nonsense and disciplined man, if he chose to do something nobody not even the management can reverse his verdict. he had told them that any one who refuse to register the course personally with him will come back for the course the following session. Prof arrived his office by 7am and the registration commenced, after waiting on the queue for over two hours, it still wasn't her turn.
The registration is becoming exhausting to her and she dare not leave the place, a text message came into her phone it read thus "LOOK BEHIND YOU" the message sender was unknown but she managed to look at who the person was. She saw Soji smiling sheepishly at her gesturing at her to come, to her utmost surprise she left where she stood to meet Soji. Without much ado he offered to help her with the registration this time she didn't decline but rather accepted the offer before he changed his mind.

Soji is a young man in his early 20s, he had initially studied law in that same university though he was obliged to follow everything his father tells him because he was underage and couldn't make decisions for himself so after graduating as a lawyer he went back to the same school to study Business administration which is the course he has always wanted to study. Soji is a genius, even though he is handsome no Coursemate of his dare contend with him academically. He is known and respected by the lecturers and professors in his school and this gives him free access to their office anytime.

Soji held her hand and they went to Prof's office. Prof was very happy to see Soji and offered them both seats.
"to what do I owe this visit soji" prof said
"I'm here to help this friend of mine with her registration" he said pointing at Luisa.
Prof looked at her and she bowed in a way of salutation, He smiled at her and then commenced the registration. She was done in less than 5minutes, she thanked Prof and went out, soji stayed behind to appreciate Prof for his help. Students on the queuing were already eyeing Luisa and she knew she dare not pass through them so she went through another exit. She stayed beside Soji's car to wait for him, at least to thank him, after 10minutes of waiting she saw him coming, she wondered what made him took such a long time before coming out, she would have frowned but she dare not because he had helped her so she feigned a smile.
"thanks soji I really appreciate what you've done for me this morning" she said
"I'll do anything in my might to keep my friend happy" he said and they both laughed.

"do you see me as a friend at all?" he threw the question at her.

"uhmmm... wh...why asking such a question, we are friends you know" she said.

"No, I aren't forcing myself on you please" he said with a frown.

"I'm sorry Soji, I don't mean it that way, you know I'm a newbie in this school and I wouldn't want to be too foolish, I don't want to fall into wrongs hands as I've heard a lot about tertiary institutions."

"can you have lunch with me today, 1pm" he asked her.

With the look on his face she knew she just had to say yes and she has no class that afternoon not until 4pm.

"okay, where is the venue" she replied

"at my place"

She raised her brows at the sound of "at my place"

"I'll come pick you up by 1pm at the school bus stop" he said heading to his car.

"....I will have to becareful because I have no idea what he has got in stock for me"

"I'm sorry damsel, I didn't mean to startle you that way" he said alongside stretching his hand for and handshake to introduce himself to her formally, she hissed, still not satisfied with the guys manner of approach, she kept a straight face. He noticed she was not still interested and so he dropped his hand and continued, Soji is my name, A 300 level of Business administration. She nodded sarcastically and made a gesture pointing at her wristwatch. She knew she was running late for where she was going, she needed to submit the bank tellers and head to her next class. Soji asked to give her a ride but she declined

"Mr Soji thanks but I won't be needing your drive and as to your apology, it has been accepted" she said as she made her way to the department, soji who was still would be that beautiful and mannered said to himself, "this is not going to be our last meeting, I definitely would still meet her some time soon"

He was right afterall, that wasn't their last meeting, he waited till she was through with her class for that day, it was already 5pm, she ran in to soji who was already waiting outside the lecture theater for her, she instantly returned to her face the frown she had put on earlier that day when he had first met the 'arrogant' Soji. He was not bothered as he returned the frown with a smile on his face and asked if she could spare some minutes of her time, she gave in but after 10minutes of Soji doing the talking Luisa still didn't contribute to the conversation. He noticed she was not in the mood for the conversation so He requested for her mobile number which she gave to him knowing she won't respond to his calls.
"do you mind me knowing your name at least"
She gave a sarcastic laughter and told him her name is Luisa. Soji had initially thought it was a lie but decided to accept it as her name.
"its 6pm already and I will like to take my leave" she told him.
Soji didn't bothered to offer a ride this time because he knew for sure she would decline it, Moreso he now has her number. Luisa who lives off campus headed straight to the Bus stop to take a bike to her apartment.

CHAPTER 1

Luisa was given admission into one of the prestigious universities in Nigeria to Study Business Administration. Being a Novice, she had to ask people who are already in the system to put her through somethings. That was when she met Soji, A 300level student of Business Administration which means they are in the same department. She was on her way to her department to exchange some bank tellers for receipts when a Blue Toyota Rav4 horned and pulled over right at her front. She was startled at the sound of the horn as she was not in anyway obstructing the vehicle from going its way, She was at the same time pissed with a frown on her face waiting for an explanation for what the had done.
Luisa's ebony black hair flowed over her shoulder to adorn her hourglass shape, an honey-like complexion and her greenish brown eyes framed by long lashes, with a pair of arched eyebrows. Her averagely long legs brings out the beautiful shape she's blessed with. One of her physical attributes is that she's not a fan of make-overs. Even though she was pissed at the attitude of the person who drove the car she couldn't hide her bubbly and sophisticated personality.
The driver of the car alighted with an apologetic but still a persuasive look but he was astonished at what he saw. Luisa's wore a black sleeveless short velvet gown that is as long as above the knee, the gown really fitted her curves, exposing some fantastic colour of her skin, the gown was complemented with a red stiletto and a red channel hand bag.

"Excuse me young man" Luisa's voice jacked him back from wherever his ogling thoughts might have carried him.

PROLOGUE

Sitting at the front of a dressing mirror admiring how beautiful a bride-to-be she is, dressed in a yoruba attire Iro and Buba made from the best fabric she could lay her hands on, with a matching Aso-oke as the gele and ipele, a moderately applied make-over to enhance her beauty perfectly. Waiting to be called-on into the hall where the traditional wedding is to take place. She checked herself again in the mirror to see how concealed the scar on her right cheek is. She smiled and sighed afterwards, she smiled seeing that the scar won't spoil her wedding pictures. She sighed at the thought of how the scar got to her face.

I haven't started reading yet but I know its a wonderful write up. BTW Ma'am I sent you a DM which you've not acknowledged, I'll be glad if you can gimme a response
