CHAPTER 14 None of Fiona's clothing were in the closet, her shoe rack was empty that was when he noticed the dresser was bare, her cosmetics were no where to be found, he started sweating profusely as he rushed out of the room "Garuba! Garuba!!" he called on his security guard who at first didn't hear him. "Garuba!" he called out again but this time he was already beside him "where did my wife go?" The gateman who was curious about why his boss called him bowed to salute him. "you mean Madam?" he asked with a blank expression "nooo, I mean the house help. Foolish man" he said sarcastically. "no vex oga, madam tell me say she dey travel yesterday and as I see her carry plenty bag put for car, e go tey...." "shut up there"he screamed at him and ran back into the house. He never thought his wife would think of leaving him, he picked his phone dialed her numbers but to no avail, her numbers were not available, he knew he dare not call her parents because there was nothing he would tell them. Fiona is a kind of person who seldom make friends more reason why he liked her, he thought but there was that particular friend of hers which he knew. his sweat didn't subside even as the air conditioner was on. He dialed the lady's number it was as if they had both decided to switch off their phones, the number was disconnecting. he had no idea of his wife's whereabouts. ...... "its been long" Amy said as they sat in the car and about to drive out of the exotic restaurant. Fred smiled "the kids are gonna love this" taking his face off the road to check the package they got for the kids. Amanda abruptly changed her smiling face to a frown. With a perplexed look Fred asked "any problem?" She was in thought that she didn't hear him talk until she was tapped, she jacked off her thought and managed to pull a smile but Fred wasn't fooled. "what the hell is going on Amanda, you were laughing a while ago" "I'm sorry I drifted away like that, I just hope this aint a dream because if it is, I wouldn't want to wake up". Fred pinched her slightly "this isn't a dream" he said The kids stood in amazement as they saw their parents all loved up through the window "let's wait and see if this is true" Agnes said as she dragged her brother with her to their bedroom to avoid their parents. "Good evening mom" Amanda greeted her mother in law. The elderly woman stood to hug her as Fred looked "won't you greet?" she retorted at him He smiled at her"good evening mama" he continued "where are the kids" "they should be in their respective rooms" she said. Agnes and Benett stood at the end of the stairs upstairs to see their parents, to know if they were faking or not and because of this they ended up eavesdropping on their discussion. ******* "Tom is one of the most wonderful guys I've ever met, don't you think?" Gladys said as they were dining. "Ain't I lucky?" she didn't believe she said that, something about her visit to Tom's parents still bothered her mind. Her sudden silence and expression made Gladys became inquisitive "yes you're lucky" she said. "is there something you're not telling me" She managed to give her a charming smile to depict a problemfree person. "I'm fine, uhm...there's nothing.. I'm not telling you" she stuttered. Gladys on sensing this guess something was wrong but didn't want to push it further. They switched to talking about her birthday celebration which came up the previous day. Tom as promised came by the house by 4pm, he drove them to get nice dresses for Amanda as some of her birthday gifts, Gladys got some for herself too under Tom's insistence. Tom couldn't stop gushing about how Amanda is to him. They drove to a restaurant and to her utmost surprise, everybody in the restaurants were friends and they all welcomed her with an happy birthday song. "Happy birthday Amanda" was pasted on the walls with decorated lights. she was astonished and so was Gladys. It was one of her best birthdays ever. 2 Likes |

CHAPTER 13 Amanda couldn't stop herself from thinking and getting worried about her mother-in-law's call. Could the kids have told her something about the family? She shrugged at the thought of that because the kids have always been visiting the Granny without saying a thing to her about their home. "I'm blessed to have such kids" she managed to smile. "its time for our outing" Fred's words jolted her from her thought. She had sat by the mirror to put a finishing touch to her already applied make up before she drifted into thoughts. After the incident of the kids refusing to come home that day, Fred had suggested they started bonding again as a family so that their kids confidence in them would grow again. Amanda's slim frame was clad in a Persian blue body fitting gown that stopped 2 inches before her knee. childbirth didn't alter her body at all, she still got the tiny waist, medium front and back. A pink cone heel sandal, a pink purse to match and a very light make up. "you look breathtakingly ravishing" Fred said to Amanda who was spining slowly to be noticed by her husband. Amanda smiled in satisfaction and met Fred's already stretched arm as they walk down the stairs. The maid Stood in astonishment, it has been long she saw her oga and madam in a loved up way. ..... Maurice came home tired and hungry as early as 6am. The night had been a beautiful one for him until the club lady started giving him issues when she demanded her money. After their meeting at the club where they had agreed on the amount of money she would collect for the night they both retired to an hotel 45minutes drive from the club, however things turned saw when it was time for Maurice to give the lady her pay after hours of rigorous sex. He gave her 20k contrary to their earlier agreement, the lady rained abuses on him and as a man who can't control his fist, he gave her the beating of her life, he stuffed the edge of a pillow to her mouth to avoid her from screaming. Maurice noticed she had became unconscious and fled before it was morning leaving the lady to fate. however he slid a check of #500,000 into her purse as he felt guilty. He scampered to the bedroom with the thought of ordering his wife to cook for him but to his utmost surprise she was not there, the bed wasn't touched, he shrugged and went to ease himself and freshen up. He went to the closet to pick the shirt and trouser he would wear to work but met the shock of his life. ***** "Happy birthday girl" the masculine voice called out as she picked her phone. She smiled knowing it was the love of her life that was wishing her a happy birthday. "Awww thanks Tom, but its not morning yet" she said as she rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand. "Yes love, I just want to be the first person to wish you a happy birthday" she smiled, it was just some few minutes past 12am, she was deeply asleep before his call woke her. "thank you" "I will leave my angel to sleep now, I love you Amanda" She couldn't stop smiling to herself "I love you too Tom, very much" the line went dead and she went back to bed. ...... "Gladys can you please get the door for me" Amanda said as she prepared breakfast for them to eat before they left for work. She carried herself to the door, Tom was standing at the door smiling sheepishly "Tom!! You're here very early" Amanda left the dining to see the face of her beloved after she had heard Gladys screamed his name. "Happy birthday angel, please manage this token gift of mine" he said as he handed her a ribbon decorated car key. She rushed out of the house and a view of oxford blue honda pilot greeted her. She was dumbfounded "you call this a token?" She rushed to hug him. Gladys was indeed happy for her friend, she couldn't hide it. "I will leave for work now, see you at 4pm" he said. "Gladys we all are going out to celebrate her birthday so be ready" he added with a grin. 1 Like |
