EPILOGUE ‘‘A penny for your thoughts, bride’’ Becca’s voice jolted her from her thoughts She smiled at her ‘‘God had really fought for me’’ ‘‘the people who will escort you into the hall are on their way in here so I’m here to clean the sweats on your face before their arrival’’ she said to her. Senator Daniels had handed his son tickets to him night before, tickets to where they would have their honeymoon, 3weeks honeymoon trip. They took off immediately after the wedding reception which had ended before the time of their flight. Omolola was sentenced to 7years imprisonment plus hardwork for being an accomplice to an outsider to kidnap someone whom she referred to as her best friend, Funke was given 30 years imprisonment alongside her boys. Luisa and Soji came back 2weeks after their wedding to attend Sammy and Sophie’s wedding. The couple and their parents presented the new couple a 3bedroom duplex, a car and tickets to New York city for their honeymoon. This was done as a token of appreciation to Sammy and his bride. 10months later, Luisa gave birth to female identical twins. THE END 5 Likes |

CHAPTER 41 Luisa traveled to Abuja the following week in order to her fiancé and his family, she didn’t want to go to visit the criminals all by herself so soji agreed to go with her provided she comes to meet him at Abuja which she discussed with her parents in order to get their consent. She visited her abductors at the cell to do that which God had commanded her to do for them; forgiveness. Sophie’s result came out fine and she was a graduate. Her relationship with Sammy was taken to the next level, they both had been introduced to their respective families. Luisa and Sophie became good friends, she was present at the eatery on the day Luisa was engaged to Soji. Luisa’s wedding was fixed for 6 weeks after her introduction, Sophie’s wedding to Sammy was to come up 2 weeks after theirs. Soji helped Joe in establishing himself legally in a far away land because without him Sophie’s plan of making Luisa a free woman again would have been futile. Luisa graduated in flying colors and was retained to work at the university which she had graduated. She declined the offer knowing fully well that she wouldn’t be in that town after her wedding. 1 Like |

CHAPTER 40 The wedding introduction was to come up in a month time, the plan was that Luisa should get married before her service year. She realized her thoughts are being interrupted by the thought of Omolola and Funke, Forgiveness didn’t stop knocking on the door of her heart. She knew she didn’t want to forgive them for the sorrow they’ve inflicted upon her and her loved ones but another part of her was willing to forgive them. She felt consulting her mother was the best she was at home, she had been home some days after writing her final exam. ‘‘mom can I discuss something with you’’ she said walking towards the kitchen where her mom was cooking for her husband. ‘‘my mind hasn’t been at peace lately’’’ she said to her mother who was turning semo on the gas stove. ‘‘I can’t give you a response now that I’m cooking, I should be done in few minutes time’’ she replied her. Luisa who wanted an instant answer went back to her room disappointed. Calling Soji on phone to discuss with him was the best soothing balm to her troubled heart. She discussed what has been troubling her mind with him, forgiving the perpetrators was the last thing he could think of. Luisa was not pleased at her fiancé’s response to her plight. The stars beautifully adorned the moon that was brightly hung in the sky, Luisa was seated at the verandah relaxing after dinner, the past difficult times crept up to her thought, she felt hands on her shoulder giving a slight massage, and a beautiful song that only her mother could sing for her sounded in her ears. ‘‘I’m here to listen to you daughter, I’ve been busy. Sorry for not giving you a listening ear earlier’’ she smiled and sat by her beloved daughter. “you can tell me now’’ Luisa was happy her mother was there to listen to her. ‘‘its about my abductors mother…’’ ‘‘what about them my dear’’ she calmly interrupted her. ‘‘ my mind hasn’t been at peace, I want to forgive them’’ she couldn’t look at her mother’s face thinking she would flare up at the thought of forgiving people who tormented her for almost 2 years but she was wrong, her mother was proud of her. ‘‘you see Luisa, I’ve been expecting you to say this for so long now, this shows I brought you up so well I’m so proud of you my darling’’ she said smiling, gave her a peck on her forehead. Luisa felt a huge burden been taken off her mind and she was able to sleep well. 3 Likes |

******* Her love story with Tom kicked off 2 months after they had met through Gladys. Amy had thought she would just say yes to stop him from disturbing her any further. Those two months had been bothersome with his calls and messages, he was always stalking her with calls and even went as far as joining her morning jog which made Gladys liked him for her the more but got pissed at her for not giving in to Tom. ‘‘I’m in a relationship already Amanda and as you can see, we would be getting married soon, I don’t want to leave you in this two bedroom Duplex, lets both get married and stop being Miss, we aren’t getting any younger’’ she had said this to her on several occasion whenever she ignores Tom’s calls. On the day she had accepted to be in a relationship with Tom, she was lonely at home, Gladys had gone to her Fiancé’s house for the weekend so she decided to give him a call to come over to the house, he was there in a twinkle of an eye, he detested the idea of staying at her place while they discuss so he asked her to get dressed so they could go out. He popped the question again, several thoughts ran through her mind, she thought of things Gladys had told her, moreover Tom was a good guy, so she felt she could give him a trial. The positive answer which she gave him made him the most joyous man on the planet earth. The good news overwhelmed Gladys on hearing it and she was back the second day to celebrate with her friend not bothered about leaving her fiancé to himself to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Almost everybody in their neighborhood knew something was on between the two lovebirds. Tom a civil engineer gets busy most of the time but even in his tight schedule, he still finds time to flaunt his woman to the world and made her feel proud. 3 months after her approval to date Tom he informed her of his parents intention on meeting her. CHAPTER 6 ‘‘why are you in my room Fred, I’m avoiding you and I want you to do the same’’ he pretended not to have heard what she said, he glanced at the round table clock which was on the small shelf beside her bed. ‘‘you are running late for work’’ he said handing a cup of tea which she declined ‘‘I’ve been sacked Fred, all thanks to your wonderful Friday night punch’’ she said to him without looking at him, she got up from the bed and went into the washroom. Fred stood beside the bed wondering if his wife was trying to see how he would feel if peradventure she was sacked. ‘”Amy what did you just say’’ ‘‘you heard me Fred’’ her hoarse voice sounded from the bathroom Fred who was still trying to know if he had heard her right, with the teacup in his grip sat at a side on the bed to reach for a white rumpled envelope which was lying by Amanda’s bag. He saw her name on the envelope, dropped the teacup in the tray that was on the stool by the bed, he eagerly tore the letter open ‘‘TERMINATION OF APPOINTMENT’’ she said aloud coming out of the washroom looking refreshed. Her voice called him to attention ‘‘you didn’t tell me this Amanda’’ his once brightened face became gloomy. She snatched the letter from his hand and questioned him about where took the letter from, he explained to her that it dropped beside her bag. ‘‘of what benefit will telling be to me’’ she took her seat on her dressing mirror short stool ‘‘I need to dress up, if you don’t mind, excuse me’’ she gave him a contemptuous look which made him know he was no longer needed, he carried his tray of tea and bread and exited her room. 2 Likes 1 Share |

CHAPTER 39 Tomilola and Toluwanimi Daniels who were clad in a pewter colored knee-length satin gown came to where Luisa was sitting, Luisa's siblings stepped in too. Astonished was an understatement, her jaw dropped when she saw Soji step into the hall from another direction he was looking more handsome than ever. Luisa tapped her friend who seem to pretend that nothing was happening around by concentrating on her chicken. "Becca, tell me what's going on here" she feigned anger. Becca laughed, stood and clapped, that was when she realized it was a planned activity which they had intentionally kept her out of. The instruments became loud, Soji was handed the microphone give his speech, he held on to the Mic with one hand and a balloon on his other hand. Everyone listened with rapt attention. At the end of his speech he stepped forward to where Luisa was standing, staring as though she had seen a ghost, by giving her the beautiful balloon he was holding which had a beautiful diamond ring at the tip. There were tears on her face, the tears of happiness that her dream was finally coming through. Spending the rest of her life with Soji was something she had been wishing for ever since they started dating. He knelt down with a leg "I've always looked forward to a day like this, my love please be my bride" Luisa screamed for joy, pulled him up and gave him a hug. Everybody clapped for them including the eatery attendants. Music was on and everybody took their seats to eat and celebrate the couple. The event was recorded by their sisters and sent to their parents who were absent. 5 Likes |

Even if Chike and Bukky doesn't end up together, the fact remains that it was he who made illiteracy become an history in Bukky's life, something Gbemiga didn't do. Even if she will later be literate it wouldn't be as fast as this. Gbemiga may be a good man but his parents and sisters are gullible. I really do hope Bukky and Chike get married because I don't think the Phillips will ever accept Bukky no matter how successful she may become in future. Whatsoever that happens I just wish for Bukky to be a better person. God bless you Shewrites for this work. 5 Likes 2 Shares |
